Chapter eleven

Isabell.
Point of view.
Lara’s parent's deaths have been on the news since morning, every news channel showed that news. Mom and I were going to the embassy where Lara stayed. The authorities wanted to keep her safe until they find a family to adopt her. Mom wanted to meet Lara and give her good wishes. I wore a yellow sundress, I wore a scarf over my head and my slippers. I wanted notting to do with Lara. I don't want to meet her or even go anywhere close to her, I tried convincing mom that I don't want to follow her, I tried to make her leave me at home but she said Lara is my friend and I have to be with her at this tough time. Mom had no idea Lara and I were no where near friends.
Upon our arrival, we waited until they brought Lara. The embassy was beautiful, it smelt like roses, flages of different countries we're hung around, pictures of great people were nicely hunged around, the walls were in white and the floors were in white also. The ceilings were very high, the room was air conditioned. Mom and I sat on a chair when they brought Lara.
Her cheeks stained black from the tears, and her eyes puffy and red, Lara looked pale as if she was sick, she was dressed in a black dress that went well with her black shoes. My mom wanted to hug her, but Lara moved away. Instead, Lara glared at my mom.
Letting it go, my mom told her to stay robust and be hopeful the Lord knows the best for her, mom wanted to pray for Lara but she didn't agree. Lara told her she didn't believe in God or anything like that.
It was now my turn to tell Lara how I pitied her, but before I do, she walked away. She didn’t even say thank you to my mom, though she never pays attention to that. While my mom spoke to the officers, I headed to the bathroom. After I relieved myself and washed my hands, I was about to leave when Lara arrived
A sneer crept in her face as she examined me.
"Hey Lara." I said while looking at her.

"Hello Isa." She said in a low voice.
"Guess what Isa?". She said again.
"W...What...What ...Lara?". I asked
"After mom and dad, you’re next to die, you won't live long". Lara said, it sounded more like a whisper.
"W..What do you mean?". I asked but she did not give me an answer.
I couldn’t believe what I heard. What is Lara trying to say? What does she mean? Did she... Then Lara brought out a large knife. She walked towards me. I stepped back until I tripped my head on something, smacking my head at the edge of the sink, knocking me unconscious.
Some hours later.
Waves of pain surrounded my head as seeps of light entered my vision. Quickly, I sat up and scanned my surroundings. I was in my room, but how did I get here? I was in the embassy when Lara tried to…when Lara tried to kill me. However, something tells me it wasn’t the case. Lara didn’t want to kill me; she tried to scare me. After all, she’s only happy when people fear her, Lara found happiness in people's scream, in their cries, their tears, she loved when she felt that fear people had in her.
I turned to see Mom by my side, she was sleeping. I kept a hand on her head which made her wake up.
"Mom." I said to her.
"Isa my darling, how are you feeling." Mom asked while touching my head and scanning my body with her eyes.
"I'm feeling okay mom, my head just feels heavy a bit." I said to my mother.
"Isa you made me worried, are you okay baby? When Lara told me you fainted I was so worried". Mom asked me with worry written all over her face.
"Lara told you I fainted." I asked my mom with disbelieve written all over her face.
"Yes she told me." My mother said.
"Alright, but I'm fine mom." I said to her.
"If you say so."

The next Day.
Third person point of view
A young couple arrived to adopt Lara today, They have been interviewed by the embassy to know if they are fit to be her parents. The couple all ready met Lara and Lara agreed to having them as her foster parents. The couple were happy knowing Lara accepted them.
The young couple only showed interest in Lara because they wanted the money. After the death of Lara's parents, she had to find another family. Lara’s parents left everything behind for their daughter, their whole fortune was left for her, but since she wasn’t of eighteen years, she couldn’t have access to her parents’ wealth. She needed someone to safeguard and keep the wealth until she was old enough. They wanted her wealth, they wanted to use her and get what they wanted? They didn't even care about her existence, they only wanted money, luxury which they will get if they adopt her. Lara wasn't what they thought she saw? She was much more than an innocent ten year old, she was a sheep in wolf clothing, she was their worst nightmare. They will wish they never met her, they will wish she never existed, She was an epitome of evil, a sign of destruction. Lara was going to be a nightmare to them.
The couple wanted to use Lara, but they have no idea that doing so would bring them death. Her foster parents were to live with her in her mansion. It was creepy and weird that the couple has the same surname and name as Lara’s parents: Stella and Aaron La Lallana.
