Chapter Twenty one

Doctor Noah POV
I remained near him, clinging to hope of saving him. “I can’t believe we lost him, I tried my best to save him but it was too late”
“Do you think she’ll be okay? Will she be out of coma soon” the nurse asked.
“I hope so,” I said. “Any information?”
“No, sir, but according to the document, their names are Stella and Aaron. They wrote no address but we are trying to find their family members or any information about them”
“Find more if you can. Call the police too while you’re at it, alright.” I said then I left the ICU.
Today has been challenging. This was the tenth patient I’ve lost today. This has never happened before. As a doctor, I’m supposed to save lives, not do the opposite. Arriving at my office, I called my wife, informing her I’ll be home late. As I reached the door, I couldn’t open it, as if it was jammed. I was about to call security when I heard a crack. I shifted back to the door, which finally opened.
Getting inside, the office appeared scattered and dirty. My wooden desk was slightly moved from its former position. Flies scattered on the floor, and the seat was gone, the walls had something red on them and the white floors were also stained with blood I could smell it from here . As I approached my desk, I stepped on something thick and watery. Once I glanced down, I jumped back: it was blood.
“Oh, my God!” I said.
What happened here? I paced to the door as fast as I could until I heard something, getting louder. Frightened, I couldn’t turn, so I tried to open the door, but it became jammed. The noise continued until it stopped. I still couldn’t open the door, but kept my hand on the handle. I was close to giving up when the door swung open. The hallway was dark; all the lights were off. I tried to find the switch but to no avail.
“Hello? Anyone here?” I said. Only silence rewarded me. “Hello?” Once again, no answer.
I spotted a shadow across the hall, but it was very dark. I couldn't figure out who it was.
“Hello? Who’s there?” I moved closer, but the more I did, the further the shadow. “Anyone?”
“Hi, I’m Lara. Help me,” a timid little girl’s voice echoed. It came from a room beside me.
“Don’t worry, Lara, I’m coming.” I stepped inside the room. Due to the darkness, I couldn’t see anything, but soft sobs caught my attention.
“Lara, are you okay?” I didn’t receive a reply. I called the little girl’s name many times, but no answer.
Before I could leave, a sharp pain struck my head. I reached my hand to the source, trying to figure out what happened before I fell on the floor.
Three Hours Later
I woke up with the pain still lingering on my head. The room was bright, so much that my eyes couldn’t adjust. I saw a little girl, but my vision was still blurred. I closed and opened them again. With my sight clear, a little girl was standing with a pair of scissors in her hands this time. I tried to move, but I couldn’t until I discovered that my hands and legs bounded by rope.
“Who are you?” I asked.
“Wanna play, doctor?” she replied, smiling.
“What? Just get me out of here!”
She came closer and tore the shirt I was wearing. She placed her hand on my chest. “Your heart is here. Wanna see it?”
“What?!” I tried freeing myself, but the more I did, the more I hurt myself. I prayed that she was joking, but she took the scissors and tore into my skin, pouring blood. My screams were all in vain. “Please…let me…go…”
“Here is your heart,” she said in a demonic voice before putting her hand through my chest.
An Hour Later
Breaking news:
An unknown force attacked the general hospital. All the doctors and patients are found dead. The faces have been damaged; no evidence of an intruder. Some people may find this footage disturbing. Noah, a renowned doctor, has been said to murder his co-workers and patients from the footage. Police have identified Noah to have been the person responsible for carrying out the attack.
He’s also responsible for the town’s most affluent couple’s death—the la Lallana has found justice. Once again, the police have saved the city from destruction.
Meanwhile, at Lara’s house
Lara was happy; she has accomplished one of her plans. Not only did she destroyed Stella and Aaron for good, but she also pinned the blame on someone else. Lara couldn’t wait for her next plan to work. She was about to leave her room when he appeared.
“Where have you been?” she asked.
“I went to see a friend,” he said.
“Why did you meet her?”
“I wanted to see her.”
“You’re not strong enough. What if Isabella tries something?”
“She won't. Trust me. I must leave to prepare for the ritual.”
“Okay, but make sure to return before the full moon.”
“I know.” The shadow vanished, with Lara watching him. At long last, she’ll fulfill her mission. She needed everything to be perfect because one mistake would cost her everything.
