Chapter 44 The Underground Clan Meeting

General Rui has finished talking to the Five Superior swordsmen. They were all quick to follow. As soon as he finished talking to them, they all immediately disappeared. As soon as they disappeared, they sent wind blowing inside. Naika's hair was blown by the fierce wind as soon as they vanished.
Naika stands as she sighs and clears her throat. She raised both of her hands and suddenly energy flashed around her. She was suddenly wearing a purple coat and a purple hat. She moved aside from the table as General Rui approached the door.
"This will be different than the others, Naika. You know that it's been a long time since this gathering. You are the only new leader and the rest are old, and I'm your only guard for this meeting, if things go sideways from here, same as the City of Woods. If that also happens, we need to alarm the heads of the City as soon as possible," General Rui stated as he turned around to see her.
"I sense betrayal, Rui. I sense death, and I smell blood in the air, it's making me uneasy since I've sense them die one by one," she murmured, facing her hands. She approached General Rui as he opened the door with his right hand.
"Let's settle this meeting and see who called it and what that meeting is really all about," General Rui remarked, nodding at him. They both exited the room and the Capital. They make their way to the underground meeting site outside of their village.
A couple of hours had passed. They are now both walking down the stairs. General Rui was holding a torch in his right hand as they reached the ground floor and saw a hallway in front of them.
In the distance, they see a single door. They both exchanged glances at first as they approached the door. General Rui put down the torch as he opened the door and walked in. As soon as he walked in, his eyes widened when he saw many people in the room.
It was a giant room and in the middle of the room was just a round table and a bunch of chairs. There were pillars around it and the whole room was well-designed. There was light in the ceiling and on the sides of the pillars, there were torches lighting up the dark place.
The unknowns that were sitting in their chairs heard them both. That made them all look at them, seeing each one of them smile. There were a total of ten of them in the room and the eleventh one was her. There were a total of eleven chairs around the giant round table.
General Rui followed her from behind as she reached the chair. Each of the unknown leaders had a swordsman standing immediately behind them. She walks up to the chair and sits down, taking a deep breath. She was wearing the same mask as them and the unknowns who were protecting and standing behind them.
"About time, Female Chieftain of the Senzi Clan. Replacement already," an old guy remarked to her, smirking beneath the mask. He sat in a chair in front of a round table on her right side.
"Who called us here?" she inquired. That made him laugh. As he sighs, he leans back in his chair. He then cleared his throat and glanced at her.
"You'll see, you're just exactly in time," he answered as he turned his gaze to the distance. They both see an old man having a staff in his right hand holding it. He was sitting in a diamond chair indicating that he was the one who summoned all of them. He sighs as everyone in the room looks at him as soon as he stands.
"Ladies and gentlemen, you're probably wondering why you've all been summoned here. As you all know, the last meeting was ten years ago... Now, soon a new Era will begin, which is the Senzi Clan, it's now starting with them. All of us here are old except for her, it's because we hold our place positions and haven't seen anyone in our clan that could hold the title, Leader," the old man said as they all nodded and agreed. They were all looking at him, and some of them were also looking at her.
"Now, the reason you've all been summoned here. Our enemies are rising from the grave. They are known as Burraku's, humanity's mortal enemy, the Darks. They were all supposed to be dead but got lucky, and now they are slowly growing stronger. I have Intel that could help every single one of us, and I hope all of you are also happy to share. Two of the Dark Strongholds have been discovered, and those who discovered it are the First and Second which are known as the First and Second of the Darkening of the Dimensions, absolute and dangerous enemy we will face," the old man said as a loud chattering occurred.
They were all surprised except for her, who knew little about what he had just said. But General Rui behind her knows what they're talking about. That made him feel uneasy as suddenly an unknown leader stood in her chair. That got everyone's attention and they all remained silent, looking at her. She was an old woman.
"From what I've heard, we're not only fighting the Darkening of the First Dimension and the Darkening of the Second Dimension. I heard there's someone behind them, and one of them is called the deity," the elderly lady explained as she sat back down in her chair. Everyone in the room's eyes widened for a split second and they were rendered speechless.
"Tsk! Deities... They are basically gods but worse and they are killers who wreak havoc all over the world. I heard the group called "The Last" is hunting them but it turned out to be different, the deities are hunting them and I heard the unknown captain is the only one who is in league with them and defeats them but who is this Captain!" General Rui thought furiously as he closed his eyes and lowered his head.
"The Darkening of the Dimensions first, and now the Deities, we're in big trouble. I propose we all form an alliance to stop them for good. We can't trust the Group called "The Last" because the only person we can trust there is their Captain, and the rest of his subordinates are weak and untrustworthy," the old man in front of the diamond chair said.
Everyone became silent in the room after hearing what he had just said. They all exchanged glances at her as she didn't remove her eyes from the unknown old man standing in front of the diamond chair. She felt unease as she cleared her throat and started thinking about what he had just said.
"You can't just say that to this kind of meeting, old man, have you forgotten that every clan here inside the City of Woods still has problems with the territories? The Main heads are unaware of this, and this is the only reason why we are also not agreeing with an alliance and the possibility of building an entire team," a man who stood and looked at them all one by one said. A number of them agreed, but many others did not. As she inhales, Naika clears her throat. As she glanced at them, she sighed.
"Hey, we're talking about lives here. If you're just talking about territories, I suggest you leave this meeting right now because it's pointless having you here. We're building an alliance to save everyone, not just ourselves. You've probably heard that a swordswoman was taken down by a dark swordsman with an explosion, which means they've grown stronger than you thought and this requires teamwork in order for us to win," Naika said as she stood and looked at them. She made an excellent point, and General Rui nodded behind her.
"You made a great point, but we need the main heads to be in touch with us, or else this meeting will be considered just small. Frankyn, Locks, and Yuri are the main heads of the City of Woods. We should tell them what we decided and who agrees to team up with other clans. Raised your hands so that we can see who's not agreeing with it," said the old man in front of the diamond chair.
He looks up to see Naika raise her left hand, suggesting that every clan should band together. He also raised his hand after noticing that there were only eight of them who did so. Three of them disagreed, making serious faces and standing from their chairs while lowering their heads.
"Seems like there are still stubborn old people around here standing as leaders and don't know what's better, only care for themselves and not their people," Naika said solemnly as three unknown heads of a clan stood menacingly before her. They stare at her as she makes a serious look and acts unconcerned. They remained standing for a few seconds before leaving the room.
