Chapter 48 An Attempt Murder

The meeting ended with a different look at everyone. They were all serious about the unknown underground layer. It was a hidden place that no civilian could know about. It's so well hidden that only they know its exact location.
General Rui and Naika were walking along a path while they could see the dark sky and the sun's light slowly lighting up the dark sky. They were heading back to their clan as they both lowered their heads. General Rui realized that there were unknowns watching them from afar.
They were in a forest inside the City of Woods. They were also on a grassy path and could see light in their path. There were lanterns lighting up the whole forest. The lanterns were attached to the tree's thick branches, making a beautiful sight to see.
At this time, General Rui and Naika were wearing hats to hide their faces as they headed back to their village. Naika was tired, as General Rui felt someone was following them, and that made him serious and mad.
"Naika, What's your plan now?" General Rui asked as he looked into the dark sky. Naika was looking down at the ground, trying to think as she felt even more exhausted.
"I don't know, I guess we wait? We don't have anything else to do and there are no reports of what is happening outside this City. We need to hurry back to see if there are any reports," Naika said as she turned to see him and saw him nod.
On the other hand, The unknowns that were following them were well-trained Swordsmen of an unknown clan who had an attempt to kill the chieftain and the general. He was in the dark forest, and he didn't know that General Rui had seen him for a very long time.
There was a four-man squad consisting of five unknown swordsmen, each of them in the shadows in a forest inside the City of Woods with them. They have sight of General Rui and Naika in a hurry in the far distance on a path.
"Father, Are you sure this is what you want? She delivered a very good message in the meeting of every clan inside this village. Does she deserve something little?" An unknown swordswoman spoke while standing on the ground in the shadows with a couple more unknowns on her side. They were spread out, and suddenly there was an unknown swordsman approaching her from behind.
The unknown grabbed her head and forced him down to the ground. She slammed her face to the ground with her mask. She grunts as she tries to stand, but she is getting crushed by the unknown swordsman's hand.
"You be quiet, fool! You listen to your father's order carefully and watch your mouth next time. Don't be stubborn like your mother. If you speak nonsense one more time, you're dead," the unknown swordsman said menacingly. He removed his head from crushing her head to the ground. She reaches for her head, which was hurting, with her left hand, as well as her lips, which have blood dripping.
"Don't worry, I'll take care of her, my son. Don't waste your time on anger. I suggest you continue rather than raging. Now, let's proceed. Let's kill them tonight," the unknown swordsman said menacingly in front of them all.
"Yes, father," they all said in one voice as they all nodded and vanished. After a couple of minutes, the group of them surrounded the forest. They were in the shadows. They both continued to walk peacefully as suddenly General Rui realized what was happening.
He came to a halt and tapped her in the shoulder with his right hand, making her stop. She wondered as soon as she stopped and looked at him. She sees him looking in the forest with an angry expression. He looked carefully at the giant trees around him, realizing they were surrounded.
"Twenty swordsmen... What the hell is happening? What would this killing accomplish for them? Based on their presence, they are from a clan. This is troublesome, but we've reached our destination. My men are here," General Rui thought furiously when all of a sudden the fifteen swordsmen that would be trying to kill Naika and General Rui were stabbed in the back, killing them instantly.
Five unknowns remain who manage to save themselves. They flew out of the forest and landed on the path. at least fifty feet away from them. General Rui stared at them menacingly as, in his surroundings, countless unknown swordsmen walked out of the forest. There were fifteen unknowns holding a sword with blood on their blades in their right hand, walking out of the forest and surrounding them.
"How did you know?! How?!" An unknown swordsman shouted, who appeared to be older than them all, holding his sword with both of his hands menacingly. There was a swordswoman on his right side and an unknown swordsman on his left side. There are two swordsmen behind them.
General Rui and Naika seemed to be approaching them. The countless unknown swordsmen that were surrounding them stood on their ground menacingly, completely unfazed, and couldn't believe they tried to kill the chieftain and the general of the Senzi Clan.
"You piece of trash, Gajarina Clan! I can't believe this and she has no words for all of you but me! This is outrageous! You were a father but look what you have done to them! This is pathetic!' General Rui exclaimed furiously while approaching them. He came to a halt at least a distance away from them five.
"I can't believe you brought an army with you, General Rui!" An unknown swordsman spoke menacingly while clutching his sword and having it pointed towards him. The unknown swordswoman distanced herself from the four of them while withdrawing her sword. That made the four glare at her as she kneeled to the ground.
"Of course I do! I'm with the chieftain. What made you think that I wouldn't bring safety measures?! And you, Inei! You wasted good men's lives now even in the past; you haven't changed! I should've had your clan exiled!" General Rui exclaimed as all of a sudden the swordsman named Inei started laughing. He was the one who was older than them all and held a different sword than any of them.
"Oh, Rui... That's your mistake, not exiling our clan when you have your chance. And also, I didn't know that's the chieftain on your side. She's young, and I can't believe it, but I couldn't believe you said it out loud that she is the chieftain. My hunger grows!" Inei stated menacingly while giggling. All of a sudden, the blade of his sword had a dark cloud surrounding it, making every swordsman of General Rui that was surrounding them draw their swords.
General Rui also draws his sword with his right hand and moves in front of Naika. Suddenly, there was wind blowing around them all, and they could feel his presence. All of a sudden, there was a sudden silence, and the dark cloud surrounding Inei's blade vanished.
Within a second, Inei vanished from where he was standing. General Rui's eyes widened when he saw Inei fly past him, and he couldn't react in time. He turned around as soon as he saw him flee. As soon as he turned around, his eyes widened even more when he saw Inei's blade about to reach her neck.
It was about to decapitate her when, all of a sudden, two blades blocked his blade, and that made his eyes widen in surprise. He didn't succeed in decapitating her, and he was sent back away from her. He got sent towards Rui, who kicked him in the head, grabbed his neck with his left hand, and tried to choke him, but suddenly his left hand was slashed. He grunts as he lets go of his neck and sees him fly back to his remaining four unknown swordsmen.
His cut was shallow, and a few soldiers of his immediately surrounded him as he kneeled into the ground. One swordsman immediately ran towards him and treated the shallow wound in his left hand.
Inei landed on the ground, kneeling, and couldn't believe he had lost his chance of killing the chieftain. He cleared his throat as he glanced in the far distance where Naika was, seeing that there were two unknown swordsmen on her side with an incredible presence that he hadn't seen before.
"Where did they come from?! Are they already here since we got here?! No, that's impossible! I didn't sense them. Where did they come from?" Inei thought furiously as he stabbed his sword blade into the ground in front of him with his left.
"Kirin and Shisua, Thank you. I owe you both one once again, she said while catching her breath. She stands strong on her ground, clutching her fist while showing angry eyes, and can't believe what just happened. She could hear her heart pounding.
"That won't be necessary, Ms. Naika," Kirin said while stroking his sword menacingly. He stretches his neck and arms while glaring at Inei in the far distance.
"Yes, Kirin's right, Ms. Naika," Shisua said as he did the same as Kirin did. He took a deep breath while pointing his blade down to the ground. Naika was staring at Inei in the far distance, as there were a few soldiers guarding their backs.
The wind was blowing strangely at all of them as the medical soldier for General Rui finished treating his shallow wound in his left arm. He slowly stands and sees Inei doing another strange thing with his blade, making him worried.
