Chapter 60 A Report and the Professor
A soldier arrived at the head office. The three heads of the City were standing in front of the round table while drinking their coffee. It was late at night, and the three of them seemed serious, and the soldier that arrived was a messenger soldier and a veteran.
"A report arrived from the Senzi Clan lately. They were attacked by the Gajarina Clan. I don't have the full description, but that's all I can say, but the tension is pretty high that I sent a few soldiers in the shadows. I'm here to report the news that might soon become a problem, and I'd like to ask if you can give me ten swordsmen in advance, at least the finest ones," the unknown veteran soldier said to them in a serious tone.
"I'll deploy some of mine. I'll deploy more than ten. Here's a clearance; you'll need it. Frankyn will join you, and be careful if you'll be there," Yuri Rou stated as he saw Frankyn turn towards him and nod. The veteran soldier also nodded at him.
"Also, a soldier came by. I asked him about the situation outside; he's from the Senzi Clan guarding the city from outside the walls. He's a messenger. He lent me the message, and I said immediately go back to his assigned post, the veteran soldier stated as the three of them looked at him curiously.
"That seems so fast; even the far ones haven't given us teleporting letters. The ones we deployed are still not responding; I wonder what happened to them," Yuri Rou stated, worried, as he took a sip of his coffee and grabbed a piece of paper that he signed with his pen.
"He stated that there's something strange going on in the forest that he can't let pass. It's silence. It's taken down five swordmen from the Senzi Clan. They weren't dead but they were out cold over there. He said they could've died if other swordmen patrolling around hadn't seen them. Their situation is still getting checked. He said he talked to the Sergeant, making the Sergeant send more of his soldiers around at the forest outside. We are on a high alert since the darkness got thicker," the veteran soldier said, making them all worried. He cleared his throat, turned around, and approached the door while holding a paper in his left hand.
"A very wise decision, soldier, expect some major attacks. If it does happen, prioritize the citizens and get in contact with Professor Zena. She hasn't given us a response yet, we hope she's okay," Locks said in a serious tone as he saw the veteran soldier bow at him and nod.
"As you wish!" The veteran soldier stated as he left the room. He walked in the hallway in complete silence, but there was light in front of him. The three heads were uneasy that night and couldn't sleep.
On the other hand, Professor Zenda was standing in front of a round table, looking at a bunch of papers in front of her. She was holding one and looking at the parts of a mechanical war weapon. There were labels of the parts on the paper, and she appears to be confused. In front of her, in the distance, workers were building a wagon with a giant crossbow context on top of it. It was still under construction, and the soldiers were struggling to lift it up with a giant metal crane.
She got a glimpse of them, seeing that they were shouting and all of them were sweating. They were all in an underground facility, at least thousands of feet below the earth.
Behind her was a giant glass door, and inside were mechanical dolls attached to the walls, some on top of the tables. They were like humans, and there were rusty swords stashed in one place inside the room.
Professor Zenda was a talented woman, but she was abused in her young days, yet she's still here, helping people in need and working for the village for her people who believe in her. She was wearing eyeglasses and a long brown dress. Her eyes were green, and in the meantime, she picked up a pencil with her left hand and a blank piece of paper and began to draw the pieces that were drawn on the paper on the table next to the empty piece of paper she picked up and put to the side of it.
She revised the whole drawing on the blank paper. She spread out the small parts and started labeling them, and suddenly a loud boom noise caught her attention. She raised her head and glanced in the distance, seeing that the giant, heavy crossbow had been dropped accidentally, crushing the wagon.
"Just what the hell are you all people doing?! You all have one job today, and that is just to remove that giant crossbow from the wagon so we can add upgrades to it, not destroy it!" She shouted furiously to them, making the one who is operating the crane guilty.
"I'm sorry, Professor Zenda, but the hook that I used to grab the giant crossbow was not strong enough that it fell and let go of the giant crossbow and destroyed the wagon," the operator of the giant metal crane stated up above them. He lowered the crane's hook edge, which is used to grab the objects.
"Then use some ropes instead so the hook can be supported!" She shouted as all of them nodded at her. Five muscular men lifted up the giant crossbow and put it aside while three men started cleaning the wagon to see if they could still fix it.
The hook reaches the crossbow, and one man starts to cover the giant crossbow with rope that is connected to the crane and hook.
She glanced at the giant crossbow and realized that it was reloaded with a giant arrow. It gave her goosebumps, which made her approach it. It was still on the ground, and the crane operator hasn't lifted it yet into the second floor of the underground facility.
"You dumb idiots! The crossbow is loaded! Why didn't you people unload it first? It could kill and destroy!" She shouted angrily again as she approached the giant crossbow, hopped on top of it, and grabbed the giant arrow with both of her hands that were taller than her.
She managed to get a hold of it and bring it down to the ground, but she felt the heaviness. A bunch of muscular men immediately helped her with the arrow and put it in their stash. She left to go back to her table and watch their work.
"Phew! Good thing that didn't unload; if so, it would've destroyed that pillar, which is one of the giant foundations of this place. If that thing is destroyed, all of the floors will collapse and we'll die," she thought as she sighed in relief. She glanced at them as she reached the round table and saw the giant crossbow getting lifted up onto another platform on the second floor.
"Hey! Lift it up even more!" An unknown man shouted as they all saw that the giant crossbow had touched down on the platform on the second floor safely. On the bottom floor, there was a massive floor where there were a bunch of hallways leading to unknown rooms and a bunch of pillars supporting the entire platform and the whole place.
She sighed in relief and cleared her throat when, all of a sudden, she heard a hawk from above. That made her raise her head and see a hawk flying down towards her with a small backpack behind its back.
"A message? Do I need to report to them now? I thought I told them to give me at least a week, but it has been only two days, maybe three. I forgot," she thought as the hawk landed in front of her on top of the round table. She immediately opened the bag behind the bird and grabbed a round piece of paper. Then the hawk looked around as she read the letter.
She face-palmed as soon as she finished reading the letter. She took a deep breath, looked at the wagon, and got a glance to her left. She saw a bunch more wagons, and on top of them were giant crossbows connected to them and armed. There were packs of acks of giant arrows in the side of it inside the wagon.
"How do we lift this all up in just less than a day? God damnit! Why was this all of a sudden?" She thought furiously as she shook her head left and right. She grabbed a pencil from the table with her left hand again, flattened the paper down on the table, and signed it. She then put it back behind the hawk's backpack, and it nodded at her and flew away.
"Hey! Everyone! We need to do double time! Use the giant crane up above! The one that is on top so we can get these things up easily. Clean up that mess, we need to bring at least half of this on the surface before afternoon!" She shouted as everyone became shocked, yet they straight up followed orders and didn't argue.
At the surface. There were a hundred soldiers guarding it and a single unknown swordsman who appeared to be sleeping in the open. He was also a guard at the hidden underground facility inside the city. They were all scattered, and they were on flat land in a circle.
Behind them was a giant metal circle with a giant crane underneath it. The metal circle can only be opened from the inside, not the outside. It was completely sealed, and it was dark.
There were no trees, and around them was just an empty land. There were no civilians allowed near the area, and it was guarded more by soldiers. Anyone who got near would get blocked by the soldiers.
In the far distance, there was a dark cone portal that appeared in thin air and touched the earth. It disintegrated the grass into ashes, and two dark unknowns emerged. They walked the flat grass with their unimaginable, deadly presence.
They glance in the far distance and see the countless soldiers in a circle, but they don't see the unknown swordsman who is sleeping on the ground. Suddenly, they saw the metal circle in the middle open for a split second, and a hawk couldn't get out.
It made them both smile. They were wearing a dark hood and a demon mask, with a sword hidden in their left waist. They appeared to have strange markings on the forehead of their mask, and their eyes were glowing from a distance.
They were far away from them, yet they still saw the hawk fly away and the metal circle open. The two unknowns that appeared were a woman and a man. The woman has long hair, and she was a short girl, while the man was a muscular man much taller than her.
"Did you see that? It's really here! That excites me! Who would've thought she'd be here?" The unknown woman stated while smiling as she sighed in relief.
"Who cares, we just came here to destroy everything and capture her, nothing else, but there's no fun; these are only soldiers. All of them are standing, but it seems like I'm sensing a faint presence laying on the floor," the unknown man stated as he moved even forward from her and continued to walk.
Suddenly, the unknown man who was sleeping near the soldiers woke up. He was frightened as he immediately stood up and looked around in complete panic.
"Soldiers! You circled the metal circle perfectly in a circled line! Be on guard! Enemies are approaching!" The swordsman shouted as the soldiers looked at him and thought he must be joking since he just woke up.
Suddenly, the ones that thought of it heard a scream that made them look. They glanced at the soldier who screamed frightenedly, pointing his index finger in the far distance. They looked where he was pointing his finger and saw two unknowns in the far distance approaching them with an unimaginable presence that was suffocating them from afar.Download Novelah App
