Chapter 40 A Spell to a Witch

Cordelia closes the door and listens to the noise to the outside of her room. She’s careful and makes sure that Salina doesn’t follow them. She glances at Cassandra and Willow, who are puzzled by what she reacted. The two are waiting for the word from her. She walks towards her rocking chair and holds the black book she always has in her hand.
“Can you tell us what is happening?”
“I know you already knew.”
She breathes and touches the black book again.
“Is it all about your witch craft magic?” Willow asked her.
She just stares at Willow and stands up in her rocking chair and faces the mirror, looking at her image. Her eyes were dull, her face gets more wrinkles and her white golden hair suddenly turns to gray. She could name herself.
Her tears tricked down the wrinkled cheek, and she immediately wiped it with her hands. She doesn’t want to notice by Willow and Cassandra. To her, witch doesn’t cry. They were born to be the strongest of all among the evil deeds. They are the most powerful. Witches are trained to be tough. She should not feel hurt. But why all of the sudden she feels this way?
Witches believes that they have a power that no one can beat. They don’t have a heart to be hurt. They are trained to be the most powerful creatures. This is the only way to protect themselves.
She turns to Willow and Cassandra, despite of her weaknesses and wrinkled face, she still has a pride of being a highest Supreme.
“I am old. But I’m still the strongest.” Cordelia said.
She raises her chin and waggled her eyebrows, showing that she’s one of the highest Supreme.
Casandra and Willow bows to give respect and honoring Cordelia.
“What do you want Supreme?” Cassandra asked.
She walks toward the window holding her cane and stares into the darkness of night.
“Bring Thana home. Tell to Lady Brume that my grand daughter training is over.”
“But Thana is doing well. She’s on half of her learning about being a strongest witch.”
“Thana is special and I believe she had learned more of how she control her magic.” Cordelia stated.
“But?” Willow confesses to Cordelia he knows Thana will learn more if she would stay in Atenowa in a longer time.
He had fought with Thana before he knows that Thana was powerful and had a special ability that the other witches don’t have.
“Don’t argue with me, Willow. I need my grand daughter beside me. Allegra needs her.”
“But Cordelia Thana’s life will be in danger.” Cassandra convincing Cordelia that better for Thana to stay in Atenowa.
“My decision is final. Bring back home Thana.”
She looks out the window and sees no sound. It came to her remembrance of the fight she had with Lazarus. She never encountered a creature like him before. He is powerful that she never thought for the first time in her life she feels fear. Her hands are shaking and her heart is trembling.
“You must leave now. She said to Willow and Cassandra without giving a look to them.
“Are you sure? What about Lazarus?”
“Just leave. We will be fine.” It still glued her eyes at the dark night.
Willow would say another word, but Cassandra forbade him to do so. It is better to grant Cordelia’s ask.
“Lets go. We need to go back to Atenowa.”
Willow just nodded. Is it better to follow Cordelia now?
“We will leave now.”
Cordelia is still in silence, holding her body shaking. She holds her cane to get a support. She had a feeling that Willow notice her. His eyes glued to her. She could read what was inside Willow’s head. He could feel her fears that crawling into her bones.
A moment later, Willow’s hand drops on her shoulder. He gets closer to her and whispers a word to her ear. Cordelia just looks at Willow’s eyes. She was dumbfounded by what he said.
“You will be okay, Cordelia.”
“Don’t tell Thana what you know.”
Willow just nodded and sway his hands into the air in a second he and Cassandra lost in Cordelia’s sight.
She follows the smoke by the look that disappearing into a thin air. A smile curve on her lips because Thana will be with them again and she knows Willow will not disappoint her. But behind those smiles, she feels anguish. She feels dismay for Thana and Allegra. Her body suddenly weakens and not even to make a single step. She tries to step at a time but her legs were wobbling. She holds tight to her cane to support herself in the fall.
“What happen to me?” She said to herself.
Her fears climbing into her vain as she looks at her hands that turn into a green color. It was like a shrub of a tree that freeze her to move. She tries to motion her hands to spell the magic, but it doesn’t work. She tried it one last time, but she was failed.
“No… no… It couldn’t be.”
She crawls in the mirror to see her image. Her hands were shaking as she touches her face. It gets more wrinkles and her lips are drying just as like Allegra has. Her arms have a shrub of a tree that climbing into her neck.
“No. It should not be happening.”
Her vision gets blurred and a moment later she found herself stumbled in the floor.
An hour had passed Salina went to Cordelia’s room wondering why until of this moment her mother was still in the room locking herself. She opens the door without giving a noise. She thinks that her mother was asleep because of tired of fight with Lazarus. But to her surprise she was shocked at what he saw. She sees Cordelia looking lifeless, stumbling on the floor. Cordelia’s body wrapped with the stalk of the tree and shrub. Her lips were dry and her face was pale.
