• • 18 • • / LIYANA'S POV "What should I do?" Jas voice trembled as she ask me. I bit my lips. I am only a meters away from Jas and I am thinking of walking towards her to save her but a huge beast is standing behind her and I am not sure if I will be able to kill it without hurting Jas. "Don't move," I said not removing my eyes at her. It's because I felt like if I remove my gaze at her, she would disappear. I am scared of what will happen to her if I fail to save her but I can't focus as a scene of a scenario like this flashed in my head. I close my eyes letting the scenes occupy my head. We are in a forest. I have companions but their faces are blurred but we are in a scenario where a huge beast is standing behind one of our ally. And then another scene flashed, I saw myself being pulled up by a giant tree, it's roots suffocating me until I was out of breath and slowly I am losing consciousness making me open my eyes in a hurry as I run out of breath. Gosh, it was just a memory but the scene suffocated me for real. "Oh my god.." I mumbled while having a hard time breathing. I clutch my chest, hoping it will help me breathe properly as I pulled as much air as I could into my lungs. "Liyana.. are you okay?" I heard Jas asked. I look up and was surprised to see her already at my side, holding my arms. She is looking at me worriedly, gone is her scared expression. And then we heard another voice and a foot step running towards us. "Oh my god Liyana, I am sorry. Did I scare you?" I blink my eyes, disbelief displaying over them. "Ruby?" I asked frowning. "Huh? Wait.. who are you? How did you come here?" Jas asked her. "I was here before you two came," she said and then she suddenly transformed into a huge beast before she transformed back into her human form seconds after. "WHAT THE HELL?!" Jas exclaimed, her eyes widened while looking at Ruby surprised. While I sigh in relief as I remembered her face. That's right. She is my classmate who's magic is transformation. I look at her and hissed. So that was her. Gosh, if not for that sudden flash of scenes in my head, I surely attacked her earlier. "What.. what are you?!" Jas exclaimed still in shock. And then she pulled me backwards with her distancing ourselves from Ruby. I chuckled. "Don't be scared. She is a classmate of mine from Rivendell and her magic is transformation. She could transform herself to whatever that she may please." "Ohh? Really?" Jas glance at me in question. "Yes. I'm sorry. I must've scared you," Ruby giggled. "Are you okay?" She asked. Jas cleared her throat. "Yes we're fine. But why did you transform yourself into beast of all things?" She mumbled scoffing. "Why are you here? You have classes, right?" I asked. Only ten students including me was chosen to help Cassopeia eliminate those monsters and those who are left at the academy will continue to attend classes so I am wondering why Ruby is here. "We do have classes but I left. I wanted to help in eliminating those monsters because a year ago, my friend became a victim of them." She explained. "You are here to kill those monsters right?" She asked and Jas nodded at her. "Okay let me come with you!" She exclaimed excitedly. "Sorry?" I asked. "Well, I understand that you wanted to help but--" "Come on, let me go with you." She said and I was startled when she transformed herself into a necklace and rested comfortably in my neck. "Yahh what are you doing?!" I exclaimed removing her from my neck but she won't budge. "Goodness.." I mumbled in disbelief. Then I heard Jas chuckled. "Let her be. She seemed determined to join us. And I don't think we would be able to remove her from your neck." I glance at my neck and shook my head. "I am worried. What if Sir Miller will notice her?" "I don't think so," Jas said and smiled at me. "She looks like a real necklace don't worry. Let's just go. We haven't eliminated not a single monster so we needed to move." I sighed in defeat. "Okay." *** "My whole body is in pain. How I wish I was just an ordinary human being then I surely won't experienced all this," Snow grumbled. I chuckled, lifting up the blankets up to her neck. "You should rest." I told her. "How about you?" She asked but her eyes are already closed. I smiled. "I'm going to rest too of course." I stayed for a few minutes beside her bed before I slowly went out of our room after hearing her cute little snores which means, she is already asleep. All of us came back safely and was told to rest early but not me. Fighting those monsters is tiring, yes, but I am not sleepy at all. Going out of our room, I stayed at a bench nearby. I looked up at the sky, the weather is good today. Lot of stars are shining brightly up there and the wind that is constantly blowing my hair is therepatic but not enough to calm my trouble mind. I sighed bringing out the bottle of medicine that Mom gave me after I left home the other day. I gripped it with my hands. Are they hiding something from me? Is there something I shouldn't remember from my past? But what is? "Why are you still awake? Aren't you tired?" I tilted my head to the side, startled to see Miss Scarlet standing at my side. Quickly, I stood up to greet her but she stopped me. "No need to do that," she said and took a sit as she motioned me to sit back and so, I obliged. I silently cleared my throat as much as I can after we are seated as I kept my mouth shut not knowing what to say. How could I start a conversation with her? She's a teacher here after all. "You seem very troubled. I can feel it. Is that why you are not yet asleep?" Miss Scarlet asked. I glance at her but she is looking up at the sky. I pursed my lips contemplating if I should tell her about my problem.. well, we are not close at all I thought and then she spoke again. "You can tell me whatever that is bothering you. Maybe I can help. It's a teacher's job to look after her students and you are one of my students too," she look at me and smiled. "But it's fine if you won't tell me. Just remember, me or any other teachers are always available. You can talk to them if something is bothering you." I bit my lips, the tenderness of her voice, like a mother who is concern of her daughter, gave me the courage to ask her what I wanted to ask. "Miss Scarlet, is there a way to let someone remember her past easily?" I asked, hope evident in my voice. She then look at me, her eyes in question. "Why?" "Well Miss Scarlet, the thing is.. I was sick for a long time that when I finally recovered, I had no recollection of my past. Now, I wanted to remember what I ought to remember.." I told her. "I'm sorry to hear that," Miss Scarlet said, a mixture of guilt and pity showed in her eyes making me blink in confusion but her expression changed instantly that I may have seen it wrong. "There is a way to regain someone's memories," she said and it gave me hope. "That is if you wanted to." "Of course I wanted to," I said instantly. "Please Miss Scarlet, help me this once. I promise I will you repay you. I will do whatever that you wanted me to do, just please help me." I said pleading. Yes. I am that desperate. I am really curious about my past. Miss Scarlet smiled. "You don't even have to plead me. I'll help you don't worry. Do you want to remember your past now?" She asked. "Now?" She nodded. I pursed my lips and look at her, then nodded. It's now or never. With that, Miss Scarlet led me in an empty room somewhere. She let me stand up under a formation which I didn't care to look at. Well, I trust her. "Before we start, I wanted to ask you for the second time, are you sure you wanted to regain your memories?" I bit my lips and nodded. "Yes Miss Scarlet." I am sure hundred percent. "This will hurt.. can you handle the pain though?" She asked again making me look at her. "Huh?" Pain? What? But before I could have a time to answer properly, Miss Scarlet raise her hands and a white magic covered my body from head to toe. And as it enters my body, I felt every flesh of me burn in pain. It felt like everything around me is spinning and every part of me is torn apart. I can't think straight but I was hoping Miss Scarlet would stop but she didn't that all I could do is cry and whimper. I screamed loudly hoping the pain will go away but it just hurt more.. And more and more.. ~
