• • 19 • • / LIYANA'S POV "Woah how did you do that?" I hated to admit it but I am amazed watching Max control his power. He is forming different shapes and statues in the form of water. We are at the wide lawn of Cassopeia. I was actually alone but Max suddenly showed up and I just let him accompany me as I don't have the energy to shoo him away. It's been 3 days since we came here at Cassopeia and it's been also 3 consecutive days since we started hunting those monsters in different places. And this day is our rest day. Snow is sleeping in our room while I am not sleepy so I took a walk around and ended up here. "You are creative. I didn't even thought of doing something like that with my magic," I commented while gazing at the figurines made of water. Max chuckled and looked at me. "I learned doing this since I was five." He said proudly. "Is that so?" He nodded and joined me to where I am sitting. "You look so quiet when I saw you sitting alone here in peace and I contemplated if I'm going to approach you or not but when I saw your troubled expression, I thought this would somehow cheer you up." He said referring to the tiny figurines that he made. A small smile escaped my lips. "You lighten up my mood a bit, honestly. Thank you." "That's a relief," he said smiling. "Well, ahm, I know we aren't close but.." Max looked at me with sincerity. " Are you okay?" That question caught me off guard. I actually don't know. I felt like something is wrong with me since the other day but I don't know what is wrong. I didn't do anything strange though. On our first day, Jas and I, since she is my partner, we carried out the mission of hunting those monsters successfully and we did just the same the other day and yesterday. And I don't remember anything in particular that I did that could estranged me today. I sighed. "I don't know but I am sure I am fine. I just felt a little under the weather but I am fine." "Glad to hear that," Max said with a smile removing his eyes on me as he look at the greeny lawn infront of us. "But you don't look fine though.." he later on murmured but I heard it. I chuckled, releasing a long sigh then I glance at him. "Have I met you before?" I asked. "Huh?" "I said, have I met you before?" I repeated. Max looked at me slightly confused, his eyes are questioning me but seconds later, he look at me amused. "Why?" Now it's my turn to be confused. "Why? Do I look familiar to you?" He asked pursing his lips. "Strangely yes," I said honestly. I don't see the need to lie to him so. "Why do you say so?" He asked again, still not removing his gaze at me. "Well," I played with my fingers, refusing to meet his eyes. "I am sick for a long time and have no recollection of my past when I woke up. And you just somewhat look familiar that is why I am asking you if I had met you before." I explained sighing still playing my fingers. And not just him but even places and things. There are certain place that looks so familiar to me but I don't remember myself going there. There were also things that I knew it is mine but also not. "What?" That is Max response after minutes of being silent. "We didn't met before, right?" I asked but he didn't respond. I smiled apologetically. "I knew it. Those maybe are my hallucinations." I sighed and stood up stretching my arms loving how my bones are being stretched and relaxed. I glance at Max who is still dumbfounded in his seat. I shook my head. Did I scare him? How weird. No, let me rephrase that. He is weird. I cleared my throat, loud enough to get his attention and it worked. He blinked few times like he just got out from a deep slumber as he look at me, confused and dazed. "I didn't mean to confused you like that. I was just asking, don't worry. Just forget what I told you. I am wrong---" "Who said you are wrong?" He said cutting me off. He stood up and face me. "You are not hallucinating Liyana. You and I have met before. We knew each other for a long time." "Huh?" He looked at me with so much love and longing, his gaze is beaming with joy despite of it glistening with tears. My brows creased. "What's with your expression?" "I knew it," he said nodding to himself. "The mind may forget, but the heart will never." And then he smiled. A smile that reached his eyes as he took a step forward, engulfing me in a very warm hug. "Yah what are you doing?" I asked slightly annoyed but not resisting his hug. "Hugging you obviously," he replied chuckling, his chin vibrating softly in my shoulders. I scoffed. "You do realize what you just did right?" I said with a hint of anger in my voice. "Huh?" His voice sounded confused but instead of answering him, I kicked his leg which took him by surprise as he let go of me. "Ouch what--" "Oh my god!" I gasped as I watch him being thrown up in the air and then he hit the ground creating a loud thud. My mouth hang open in surprised. Yah I did not kicked him that hard! How could he-- "Serves you just right." I glance behind me and saw Stupid glaring at Max who is groaning in pain. "Yah did you do that?!" I exclaimed at him but instead of answering me, he pulled me taking me away. "YAHHHH!" ~
