• • 21 • • / LIYANA'S POV "Liyana, are you okay?" Snow quickly approached me. She held my arms looking worriedly at me. "I guess," I mumbled. Girl, I am trying to process what just happened. I stared at the ashes on the ground. I did not even see properly how she looks like. "Why did she turned into ashes?" I asked. "It's because when a person who's magic is transformation transformed into something or someone for a long period of time, she will turn into ashes if she will go back to her original form." Serena said. I quickly look at her. "What?" "Unfortunately, magic have pros and cons too that is why we are advised not to abuse our magics," Serena further explained. I gasped and quickly look at the necklace on my neck. "Goodness," I mumbled. Jas who is on the other side quickly came near me. She pointed at the necklace on my neck. "Liyana, your classmate.." I nodded at her. "Yeah. She didn't transform back to herself." I sigh and held the necklace which is actually my classmate, Ruby. Why is everything so messed up today? I stayed silent as Jas who is with me that day explained to them and Snow look at me worriedly. "Don't worry. Maybe we can find a solution to bring back Ruby and I am sure your Mom will be okay." Snow told me and I just gave her a smile. I am not close to Ruby but I felt bad for her. I don't want her to turn into ashes. And about my Mom, I may be a little mad at her after I heard her conversation with my Aunt, I still care for her. And knowing she's in trouble worries me to death. I stared at the ashes on the ground. Did they really took my Mom in captive? Her Highness the Queen is here and she is currently talking to Miss Scarlet. I felt bad. I created a big of a mess today. Minutes later, Her Highness look at me and smiled warmly. "Liyana, right?" She asked and I nodded respectfully. "Come with me. I'll explain everything to you." She said. "And everyone, go back to your rooms. You are supposed to rest today." She said and turned around to leave. I blink my eyes and look at Snow asking her with my eyes if I should go and she nodded at me. "Go." She smiled at me encouraging me and even Calla and Jas who is just behind her nodded at me. I smiled and followed Her Highness quietly back to her chambers. We seated at a small dining table then a servant came and served us tea. I even wanted to decline but I am so ashamed to do so. I mean it's Her Highness who insisted it. Who am I to decline right? "Take a sip. That should help calm you a little." Her Highness said referring at the tea infront of me. "Yes Your Highness," I said and took a sip. Well, for someone who is not a tea lover, this is good. "Before anything else, are you okay?" I look up to look at Her Highness when I heard her question. I bit my lips. It is not bad to tell the truth right? I cleared my throat before saying a reply. "Honestly, I am not okay Your Highness. I am worried for my Mom. What if they really held her in captive?" "You don't have to worry. Your Mother is safe." She said and gave me a reassuring smile. "Really?" I smiled in relief. Her Highness nodded as she took out a glowing white ball and gave it to me. "What is this Your Highness?" "That is the strings of life. You could see there everyone who is close to you and everything that is connected to you." She said. "Go, see it." I smiled and held the glowing white ball above eye level so I could see into it clearly and I frowned when I saw Aunt Leya. "Why? Is something wrong?" Her Highness asked when she saw me frowning. I extended my arm so she could see into the ball. "She is my Aunt Your Highness. What about my Mom?" I asked. Her Highness looked into the ball and then at me. "I heard you are sick and can't remember your past isn't it?" She asked. "Huh?" I put down the glowing ball in the table. "Yes Your Highness. But the physician who cured me said I'll remember them soon." I explained. "You will see everything in there." What? I look at the glowing ball and then at Her Highness who is looking at me warmly. You mean... "That's the strings of life Liyana. It will show you record of what happened from the day you were born until now." I gasped and stared at the small glowing ball. So this small thing have the answers to all my unexplained questions?! "You may or may not like what you will see in there but I hope I will still see that glowing and kind look of you." Her Highness said still smiling warmly at me. "Of course Your Highness. I will always stay the same. Thank you so much," I said in all sincerity as I look into the strings of life. I smiled. Now I'll get to know what happened in my past. ~
