Chapter 19 The Topic of Marriage

Despite the fact that the sun is shining brightly and high in the sky, Dan Oh is sleeping quietly. In her dream, she is having a delicious meal that makes her joyful and makes her feel as though she is flying. Her nose flinched as she smelled something delightful around her; she was still sleepy, but the aroma of a mouthwatering meal compelled her to open her eyes.
The petite woman wakes up and sits on the bed, rubbing her sleepy eyes. She blinked open her eyes and looked around her apartment. Something appears to be unusual from her apartment's typical appearance. Her room appears to be rather nice; is her room ever this clean and tidy?
She dislikes cleaning and prefers to leave her desk in a state of disarray while working on her manuscript. She doesn't bother cleaning the mess before work and also leaves it like that before going to bed, which is odd. The desk is now neat and tidy.
"Are you awake?" From behind the bookcase emerges a tall man. With his appron on, his attractive appearance appears sweet but sensual. This man appears to be the reason that her apartment becomes spotless and neat as soon as she opens her eyes.
"Are you cooking?" she inquires of the man. Her mood was lifted by the thought of eating his food so early in the morning. She jumped out of bed and dashed towards the kitchen. The room was filled with the strong savory aroma of curry.
Dan Oh, grab a spoon and sample the curry, her eyes twinkle with delight as she tastes how delicious the curry is. She can't believe the man has the skill to cook such delicious meals; it definitely suits her taste.
"How does it taste?" Woon appears behind Dan Oh, his chin resting on her crown. Woon may easily rest his chin on her head to his girlfriend due to their differing heights.
"It's really tasty, where did you learn to cook like this?" she asks.
"Guess it?" he jokes with her.
Dan Oh appears to be thinking about it thoroughly before responding.
"Are you asking your kingdom's chef head to teach you how to cook? Or do you ever arrange the buffet on your own to offer your guests at the party? "What a generous king!" Dan Oh makes a serious assertion, but her imagination causes Woon to burst out laughing.
"No, only you have ever tasted my food. My sister had no idea that I can cook. Since I live alone here, I've begun to learn how to cook," the tall man explains.
"What a classic reason, it would be more interesting if you agreed with my question"
"So, do you prefer that I cook for all the beautiful ladies of noble families in my kingdom rather than cooking for you personally?"
"Yes. That's what I prefer!" Dan Oh, please provide a clear response. Woon's face darkens; does she never become jealous if he becomes acquainted with other women and cooks for them? Will she be offended if she finds out how many women tried to flirt with him?
"I want to brag to those beautiful ladies about your abilities, and I want everyone to know that this handsome man who is good at cooking and very charming is mine!" Dan Oh smiles warmly as she throws her arm around Woon's waist. All of the unpleasant emotions that had settled in his heart vanished in an instant.
She is adorable. Woon can't help but tenderly pinch her cheeks. The two of them laugh together, starting their day on a cheerful note.
Dan Oh and Woon then prepare breakfast together and eat together at the table. Even though they've been dating for three years, this is the first time they've ever lived together and had breakfast together. It's all fresh to the two of them.
"Does this describe how married people feel every morning? I think I'd be able to start every morning cheerfully like this if we married," Woon says as they eat breakfast. He has a broad smile on his face as he imagines a living marriage with the woman he loves.
Dan Oh, on the other hand, stopped eating and placed her spoon on the plate, since the conversation about marriage made her feel uneasy. She is not prepared to marry Woon in the foreseeable future and have never consider it. She has been thinking about pursuing her writing profession constantly, and she believes she is too young to discuss marriage. She is now thirty one years old, which is a regular age in Korea to marry, but she still has a dream and does not want to think about marriage just yet.
"I think even if we weren't married and lived like this, it would have the same effect on us," she says.
Dan Oh may not openly decline the issue of marriage, but her expression and words are sufficient for Woon to conclude that she does not want him to continue talking about marriage. It takes away his entire smile. He stares at her silently while Dan Oh continues to eat, not wanting to look at him even though she is aware he is staring.
