Chapter 25 The Awkwardness That Follows A Fight

Gwi feels restless; he hasn't felt at comfortable since his fight with Siera last night. He remembers how his statements sounded nasty to his wife. He should not have said anything to the queen in the first place. He should not hold her responsible for anything that happened to their child. Siera must be in as much misery and anguish as he is over the loss of their unborn child.
The monarch abruptly rises from his seat, surprising Thierry, who had been assisting him with national responsibilities. Gwi did appear as someone who read the document in his hand, but Thierry suspects that the king's attention is elsewhere. Gwi merely walks straight towards the door after standing up.
"Where are you going, your Majesty?" the secretary inquires, perplexed.
"I need to meet my wife," the king replied before disappearing behind the closed door. Thiery couldn't help but stare at the empty doorway. Through his eyes, a significant stillness appears.
Gwi goes straight to Siera's chamber; the front door is unoccupied, and there is no guard or servant to proclaim his arrival. It's odd, because there should generally be two or three servants waiting in front of the entrance. The king is about to knock on the door when he hears voices within the chamber.
"Did you find her majesty?" Catelyn inquires, the king detecting concern in her voice.
"We've looked all over the palace, but her majesty is nowhere to be found," adds another female voice. Another mumbling voice from Catelyn expresses her concerns. She had no idea when the queen first went missing. She tells the servant to keep looking for the queen quietly, hoping to locate her soon.
Catelyn and the servant approach the door and open it. When they discover the king standing in front of the entrance, they are completely taken aback. Catelyn is frantically closing the door to conceal the fact that Siera is not in her chamber from the king.
"Your Majesty," Catelyn said, and the other servants saluted the king.
"You can't seem to find the queen anywhere at the palace?" Gwi confronts them openly, not hiding the fact that he can obviously hear their private talk. His inquiry caught everyone off unprepared.
"I sincerely apologize to your Majesty. I would direct our servant to locate the queen as soon as possible. Perhaps we might also send someone to find her Majesty outside the palace." Catelyn is terrified. She does not intend to conceal the situation from the king, but she is unsure whether she is required to inform the king of the queen's disappearance based on their current relationship. Maybe Siera just wants to get away from the king. That's what she thinks.
"No, let her be. If she's gone alone, it could suggest she doesn't want to be found," remarked the king emphatically.
"Pardon? However, what if the queen is in danger?" Catelyn can't believe what she's hearing; does the king care about the queen at all? That is beyond her comprehension. The monarch is not typically ignorant when it comes to the queen. But why does he act as if the queen's disappearance is meaningless? Catelyn can't hide her displeasure with the king's decision.
"Siera is more than capable of defending herself. And if she went without telling anyone, she probably just needed some alone time. I don't want anything or anyone to disturb the queen when she doesn't want it," Gwi explains.
Alright, the king may be correct, and Catelyn may agree. But, seriously? Should they just sit tight when the queen's whereabouts are unknown? Can they genuinely feel at ease about it? Catelyn still finds it absurd, but she has little choice when the king orders her to do so.
"Just make sure there's no rumor going around about this," the king says before opening the door and entering the queen's chamber.
As the king enters the queen's room, Catelyn lowers her head. She walks in silently after closing the door. It appears that the king intends to wait for the queen alone in her room. But he doesn't even issue an order to locate the queen. So, how many times will the king wait for Siera without doing anything?
Gwi enters Siera's chamber, his eyes scanning the entire space. He then walked over to the queen bed and sat on one of its sides. He gently caresses the queen's normal sleeping pillow. His mind flashed back to a previous occurrence in which he witnessed the queen weeping and softly crying after they had lost their child. He strokes the pillow and bed, as though Siera were sleeping there.
"Mother is truly sorry, my baby," he recalls Siera saying after their loss every time he visits the queen's room and stands in front of the door.
Gwi had been visiting Siera's room every night for weeks in try to cheer her up, but he didn't have the courage to meet her personally. He was scared that if he looked at Siera's face directly, he would be hurt and reminded of their unborn kid.
He wants to meet his wife but is apprehensive since he is concerned that looking at her will reveal how much pain he is in, which will be observed by Siera and bring her down even more. As a result, he continued to enter the queen's chamber every night at midnight for weeks without anybody noticing. And every night he came, he heard Siera's whimper and her excruciating call to their baby.
The queen was unable to eat properly for the first few weeks after losing their kid, and she was heartbroken since her husband never appeared and met her. She was depressed and needed her husband's assistance, but she lacked the courage to go to the king's room first. She was scared that her present would aggravate Gwi even more because she is fully aware of the king's desire to have a child. As a result, the queen and king did not meet personally for more than a month after their child died. That was the first factor that strained their relationship.
"Why should you go out of the palace alone, Siera?" the king asks quietly, touching the empty pillow.
Siera had been as depressed as he had been as a result of their loss, so how could he blame her for the tragedy? Would their relationship have never changed if he had been brave enough to appear in front of her and actively support her at the time? He begins to feel bad about his cowardice. When that catastrophe occurred, they were expected to stay firm and support each other tightly, not ignore each other and let time heal the wound that would never totally heal on its own.
Meanwhile, back at Key and Ryu's residence.
"Has there ever been a time when you felt Ryu had changed in some way?" Siera is struck by the fact that the two of them appear to be as happy as they used to be. Key responded to her bestfriend's query with a meaningful smile.
"Rather than calling it a change, perhaps it is better to say that I gradually discover his character that he has never shown anyone before? We are not always comfortable. I believe all marriage couples are like that."
"There are times when we fight over insignificant issues, get angry, and ignore each other. I honestly can't seem to get used to his obnoxious childish behavior. It gives me the impression that I have three children rather than a husband! And it sometimes gets under my skin and makes me sick of it." Key shares her marriage experiment, which makes Siera smiles again.
Her bestfriend has changed into a pretty chatty person, which is unlike her former self. People seem to be correct when they say that once you become a mother, no matter how quiet you are as a lady, you will gradually become a chatty mother and wife. Siera has observed it firsthand.
"What I mean is, perhaps you shouldn't focus only on the king's behavior change and interpret it negatively. I believe that whatever difficulties you endure with the king will occasionally strengthen your love for each other. Please don't be concerned about that, Siera." Key tries to cheer up her best friend and improve her spirits.
Siera is attempting to carefully internalize Key's words. She is correct. She can't always escape the possibility of change in their relationship. After all, life is an ever-changing phenomenon, and people will gradually evolve to keep up with the proper dynamic. There would always be a time when the spark in their marriage would fade, but that does not imply the end of everything. Everything would be fine as long as she could adapt to the situation.
Siera is not your ordinary woman that gets upset easily and takes things from her irrational side. She is a woman who hides her emotions when dealing with others, but Gwi is always an exception in her life. That is possibly how special he is in her heart. She is never very good at coping with other people's relationships. But she is delighted she came to Key to discuss things. She can finally relax.
While Gwi waits for his wife to return, the sun has set. To keep his mind occupied, he has been reading a book he found in Siera's bedroom. But, to be honest, he can't seem to concentrate. He has been looking at the door every second, hoping Siera would walk in soon. Even after the sun has fallen, he still hasn't heard anything from her.
"Srrk" he hears a voice outside the window. He quickly sprang up and opened the window. His pupil is delated when he discover the woman he has been waiting for finally appear and had trying to climb up the balcony.
The queen's room is on the third floor, making it difficult to approach through the window from the ground. To get to the balcony, Siera must climb an adjacent to tree and jump from the nearest branch. Her hand is already on the balcony railing when Gwi unexpectedly appears from inside her chamber. The jolt causes her grasp to slip, resulting in her falling from the high place.
Gwi, on the other hand, has quick reflexes and can easily seize Siera's hand and lift her into his embrace. His muscular frame pulls Siera into the air, propelling her to the top position while she rests her hands on his shoulder. It's been a while, but the close proximity between them causes their hearts to rush wildly. They simply remain in place while listening to each other's heartbeats.
Gwi and Siera's lips are slightly open as they try to say something, but they can't think of anything to start talking about. There are so many things they want to say to their spouse, but they don't know where to begin. As a result, even after minutes have passed, they can only stare at each other silently.
"I'd like to go to Daekhram village tomorrow morning," the king finally said after a long quiet. He speaks with his usual deep voice.
Siera has to blink to comprehend the scenario; is Gwi waiting for her in the bedroom to announce his departure to the war after everything that has transpired? That has made her very unhappy. She seemed to have set her expectations too high when she discovers him alone in her private chamber. She expected him to say something personal, something about them, but he didn't.
The queen carefully steps out of the king's grasp and into the room. She shows him her back. Gwi, on the other hand, is frozen in place. Why, out of everything he could say in that situation, did he bring up the war? He has worked more on it. He cautiously turned around and looked behind Siera. Seeing the queen display her back in front of him makes him feel as if they are too far apart. Is that how Siera feels every time he turns away from her?
"I see what you're saying. I think you should get an earlier night's sleep for tomorrow's preparations," says the queen, who is still standing. Her voice and words are icy. Gwi's eyes darkened as he heard her response. They couldn't possibly talk any better than this!
"I'm leaving then," the king states at the last moment.
He hasn't waited all day for her only to talk about it! However, his footstep is firm as he approaches the door. He quietly opens the door, but before leaving the room, Gwi turns around to check on Siera. The queen was just staring at him, expressionless. Finally, the king decides to depart.
Catelyn has been waiting for him outside for the entire day. She salutes him first, then dashes into Siera's chamber.
"Oh, my queen! What have you been up to? I'm sick with worry about you." The secretary's words to the queen may easily be heard by Gwi. That's correct, that was the word he needed to utter when Siera returned for the first time. But why is he finding it so difficult to even ask her that now?
