Chapter 27 The Person He Meets

As was customary, the queen and king would visit hospitals and orphanages in the capital once a month. But now, Siera must travel alone because the king is still on the battlefield. It's been a week since she last saw her husband, but she's already heard that the soldier won the war, so she's at peace knowing that Gwi is safe and sound.
The palace is funding hospitals and orphanages to ensure that there are no abandoned sick or orphans in the city. They aim to make sure that everyone has a good life and that there is never a scarcity of anything. It was Gwi's idea for them to seek sponsorship to establish a facility where they could directly serve their people, and they would visit the facility on a regular basis to assess the situation.
Siera is currently feeding an old man who is on bedrest and unable to sit properly. The elderly man is destitute, has no family, and has lived alone for decades. He is grateful to a woman who assists him in eating, but he is unaware that the woman is the queen of Hwon Kingdom. Only when the old man falls asleep does the queen leave the room after she has assisted him in eating and drinking medicine.
Just as Siera was about to leave the room, she noticed Catelyn receiving a letter from a messenger. After taking the letter, the female secretary notices the queen and rushes up to her.
"The king is on his way back to the palace," Catelyn remarked, informing the queen of the message she received. She hands the piece of paper to Siera.
"Thierry said that the entourage would mostly return at dinner time, so we wouldn't have time to prepare the feast when we arrived at the palace. Ask someone to notify the palace so that it can be prepared ahead of time," the queen orders. Catelyn nodded and promptly summoned the quickest rider who could reach the palace as soon as could.
Siera is now in the suburbs, so even if they returned to the palace straight away, they would not arrive until supper time. As a result, they must notify the palace before arriving so that they can prepare before the king's entourage arrives.
The queen arrived at the palace gate at dinner time, according to schedule, and went straight to the hall to greet the king. When she enters the room, the troops are enjoying their meal. When the queen arrives, they instantly get up and show their reverence. Siera instructed them to abandon the formalities and enjoy the feast, and they did so. Despite the fact that there must be a party to celebrate their victory in the war, there is a depression feeling among the soldiers.
"Your Majesty," Thierry approaches to welcome the queen. Siera's gaze wanders over the room as she searches for her husband amid the warriors, but Gwi is nowhere to be found.
"Where is the king?" the queen wonders.
Thierry does not immediately respond to the queen's query, instead dropping his head as though he is at a loss for words. His reaction makes Siera feel awful since she has a horrible feeling about it. His action made Siera hesitant to investigate the answers.
"What are you doing, please answer the queen" Catelyn is the one who speaks when the king's secretary remains silent.
"Please accept my apologies, my queen. The king declines to attend the feast because..." There is a brief pause following his response. Siera is just staring at him, unsure if she wants to hear the rest of the answer.
"He immediately goes to meet Lady Lyn," Thiery cautiously informs the queen. He is aware that his response could upsetting the queen, but he also cannot conceal the truth.
"Oh" was the only thing Siera could say in the situation. She can tell from the start because of Thierry's uneasy demeanor, but she doesn't understand why. Why is Lyn the first person Gwi wishes to meet after the battle, out of everyone there?
"I believe there is nothing to be concerned about, your Majesty. I'm guessing the king is meeting with her to discuss anything concerning Daekhram Village. His Majesty has been out of it for days, worried about something," the man continues.
Siera can almost assume that Thiery uses a pressured tone to explain that there is nothing to worry about since he believes she may have a misunderstanding about her husband's relationship with that female werewolf. Well, she's not the only one who might get the wrong impression based on the gossip going around the palace about the two of them. Thierry is trying to make the meeting sound like it is a matter of business rather than a secret affair.
"Why does the king want to talk to her about Daekhram?" It's a new experience for Siera. Perhaps she should be glad that her husband does not meet another woman behind her in order to have an affair, but he also never discusses matters about their country and people except with her or at council meetings. She doesn't understand why Lyn is mentioned in the context of their people.
"That's... I'm not sure, your Majesty, I apologize," the male secretary said again, bowing his head. Thiery is also unsure why the king met Lyn in the first place. He also dislikes the fact that the mishap may cause people to believe that "the king met his lover before the queen after the war," despite the fact that he worked hard to disprove the earlier story.
The king meeting Lyn to discuss Daekhram matters is also only a conjecture he made after seeing the monarch's unusual behavior during the conflict. It appears that the king had a lot on his mind regarding the war, which kept upsetting his thoughts and forcing him to remain silent for days. So when Lyn is the first person the king goes to meet once they arrive at the palace, Thierry assumes the woman will have the answer to something that has been bothering the monarch. But it's just speculation on his part. So when the queen asks why he doesn't know what to say, he says it's because the king didn't tell him ahead of time.
"I see," the queen remarked before turning back and walking away.
"Are you attempting to conceal the fact that the king has a secret relationship with her by telling her majesty that it is for business? You stupid jerk!" Catelyn scolded Thiery in hushed tones so no one could hear her.
"That is not correct. Make no fresh rumors. I don't think the king has an affair with her." Thiery is attempting to protect the king, which causes Catelyn to look at him with chilly eyes. Even though she keeps telling the queen the same thing Thiery told her, she can't help but fear that the truth is different. What would happen if the monarch actually brought Lyn as his secret lover? It has caused her great concern.
The female secretary does not want to argue with Thiery on the subject when she does not have time. She hurriedly follows the queen's lead and walks behind Siera.
"Do you want to go directly to meet the king, your Majesty?" She inquires cautiously.
"I wanted to meet him because I think he might be stressed out after the war, but it appears that he is quite busy, so I will give him his time." Siera spoke it calmly, or at least that's how she wants to appear to others.
"Would you like to have dinner in your room, your Majesty?" Catelyn keeps asking questions in an attempt to divert Siera's attention away from the upsetting subject.
"No, please prepare camomile tea," the queen remarked as she entered her own chamber. Catelyn nods and obeys the queen's command. Her glance, though, is concerned. When the queen has a lot on her mind, she always asks for camomile tea.
