Chapter 31 The Eccentric Webtonist
Seoul, South Korea, Earth Today is the first day for Eun Dan Oh, a new rising star writer, to meet with her webtonist in their collaborative performance to turn the woman's popular novel into a well-known webtoon. Dan Oh is quite excited about the meeting. She has awoken early than usual, but Woon is considerably earlier than she is. When she opens her eyes, she is alone in bed. "Woon?" She's seeking for her partner, but he's nowhere to be found. Instead, she discovers a prepared breakfast on the table, along with a message. "Today I have an early class. Good luck with the meeting, love you," Woon writes on the white paper. He seemed to have prepared a breakfast for her before leaving for work. When Dan Oh sees the breakfast Woon has cooked for her, she smiles meaningfully. Even though he must depart early, he has time to make a meal for her. She's curious as to when he awoke. Dan Oh rarely eats homemade breakfast and prefers junk food or delivery orders, so witnessing her partner prepare a wonderful homemade meal for her thrilled and warmed her heart. He is well aware that she is a voracious eater and is familiar with her preferences. It makes her pleased and grateful to have a partner like Woon who is thoughtful like him. "Thank you for the meal" The writer sat on the chair, her finest smile on her face. Dan Oh thoroughly enjoys her brunch. It's a cheerful way to start the day. After finishing her meal, she took a bath and put on light make-up and a casual attire for the meeting. They would begin the meeting at 10 a.m. in a cafe of her choice. Dan Oh wanted to create a good impression on the webtonist in order for their collaboration to be successful, so she arrived at the cafe thirty minutes sooner. When she arrives to the cafe, she finds the finest spot near the window for a relaxing encounter with her client. She polished up her appearance and gave the webtonist, whom she had never met before, her finest grin. With a happy and kind look, she waits. Time keeps passing; it's now ten o'clock. A man in a nice grey suit appears and enters the cafe. He could be the webtonist she's looking for; he's gazing around the cafe for someone. Dan Oh instantly stands up and greets the man with a business smile. When the man in suit looks in Dan Oh's way, he smiles, but when Dan Oh almost greets him, the man in suit simply walks by her. The writer turns around and notices that the man is meeting with someone else rather than her. He was mistaken for her webtonist. She feels embarrassed since she made a mistake, but it appears that no one is aware of her behavior, so she smiles again and takes a seat, waiting. Ten minutes have elapsed since the incident, and another tall man dressed casually enters the cafe. Dan Oh is almost back to her feet when a young woman appears behind him and they stroll together. This time, it's a couple that come to the cafe for a date, not her webtonist. Dan Oh, look at the time; the webtonist must be late for the meeting. She checks her phone in the hopes of receiving further information about the meeting, but there is no message from the webtonist, despite the fact that she has already informed him that she is waiting at the cafe. She blows her bangs in frustration, but then takes a long breath to calm herself. She doesn't want to make a negative first impression. But things don't go as planned; thirty minutes have gone and a slew of individuals have entered the cafe, raising her hopes that one of them is her coworker, but none of them is the webtonist she is looking for. She purposefully arrived at the cafe thirty minutes earlier, and it is now half past ten. That means she's been there for an hour! She is scolding herself for the webtonist who does not perform professionally. He is truly squandering her time. Her spirit and smile had vanished, leaving her with an annoyed frown on her face. She intends to contact her publisher about it, but a man appears and stands in her way. "Eun Dan Oh, the author ? Waah, you're much shorter than you appear in your picture," the stranger in front of her said. "Excuse me?" She can't handle his remark. It's obvious that this is their first meeting, but why is the man noting her height in a way that she despises? True, she is short, but he doesn't need to make such a harsh remark about it! "Hello, my name is Mykel, M-y-k-e-l. I'm your webtonist," the man introduced himself nonchalantly, seemingly unconcerned about Dan Oh's irritation at his previous remark. Dan Oh can't believe what she's hearing as the man introduces himself as her webtonist. He has an incredibly uncommon appearance. The dude wore a beret and round black spectacles. He has lengthy hair that is braided in little sections. He's dressed in a turquoise blue shirt with a green army outfit and a crowded circular pattern on his red brownish pants. It may seem good on someone with a model-like body and face, but this man's appearance is far from that of a model with his regular face! Even if Woon or Kyung wore this clothing, they would look ridiculous. Dan Oh can't control her expression since she finds Mykel's appearance to be somewhat disturbing, but Mykel isn't bothered by her peculiar glance or the gazes of others who look in his direction. He thinks his dress sense is incredibly cool and eye-catching. He takes a seat in front of Dan Oh and smiles broadly. "So, what are we going to order? Don't give me a bad recommendation," Mykel urges as Dan Oh stares at him with an uneasy expression. "What?" She is still unable to grasp it. He's been late for a freaking hour, and this is his first interaction after saying 'nice' things about on her height? He can at the very least apologize! "You are late," she reminds him with all the composure she can muster. "Ah, to be honest, I forgot about today's meeting," Mykel admitted without feeling bad. Dan Oh's eyes widened as he responded. "But I texted you an hour ago to let you know I'm already waiting," she tries to suppress her rage with a grin. "Well, you know I'm not someone who sits around doing nothing, so I have to prepare myself before meeting you here," the webtonist says casually , despite the woman in front of her staring at him with chilly eyes. "All right, I've divided each chapter of the novel here; please check it out and let's talk about the webtoon concept now." Dan Oh tries not to get heated up about his attitude by focusing on her task. She takes out the documents she had prepared ahead of time and places them on the table on Mykel's side. "Set it away. I'm starving. Let's order anything first," but Mykel completely disregards the script she meticulously prepared. "Ugh, okay!" Despite her displeasure with his demeanor, she accepts his offer to eat first. She orders the greatest food and beverage available at the cafe. It wasn't time for lunch yet, but waiting for Mykel and conversing with him had worn her out. As a result, she is already hungry. So when the supper arrived, her bad feelings vanished as she gazed at the delicious feast in front of her eyes. "Yuck, it's really not my taste," Mykel complains as the waitress places the dinner on his table. As he hesitates to taste the dish, his countenance shows a disappointed expression. Dan Oh is perplexed by his preference for moaning while eating the entire dinner. "Isn't the story background a little boring? I wonder why it became popular," Mykel says cynically as he begins to read the script in front of him. "Boring? In which section?" Dan Oh doesn't want to test her patience again. Why does this man enjoy whining about everything? Isn't he aware that there are a lot of individuals who wish to complain about his manner as well? "Hm, I'm not sure I can tell you right now. The script will be learned at home. Even if it is difficult to imagine, I will see you tomorrow." Mykel makes no explanation for his statement and stands up abruptly. Dan Oh is about to argue, but he quickly clears his belongings and leaves her alone. "That damn guy!" she finally scolded him after Mykel had left. She can't stand that kind of person, and the thought of working on a project with him gives her a horrible headache. She had to wait for him for an hour, no, she had to prepare her finest appearance and script so that she could talk everything with him properly for days. But when they meet, they don't even talk; he just eats and then leaves. What type of meeting is that? Dan Oh neatens her belongings and leaves the cafe. Her face is dreary and irritated. She walks quickly and continues to complain to herself. When she notices a tiny rock in her way, she kicks it angrily, causing it to soar into the air and land on someone's head. When a little rock landed on his head, he winced in pain. Dan Oh instantly pretended she didn't know anything about it and turned around to look for another path. "Eun Dan Oh!" she hears a man cry out her name. That man she hit with the rock is unlikely to know her identity, right? She is terrified because she feels bad about her actions. "Yah, Eun Dan Oh!" Another voice calls out to her, but this time it is more than just a voice. A tall man appears beside her and wraps his arm around her shoulder. Dan Oh turns to face Kyung, who is smiling warmly in front of her. She has no idea where Kyung came from or how he ended up in front of her, but staring at his lovely grin after spending time with the eccentric Mykel doesn't seem so horrible now.
