Chapter 40

Chapter 40
He's cold but she's colder
Collyne Keigh POV
"Keigh. You came!" I heard Cristina said behind me.
I'm already inside the Venue. I turned to her and smiled sparingly at her. She walked over to me and gave me a kiss on the cheeks.
"You're so gorgeous tonight Keigh." She complimented while smiling.
I smiled, widely.
"Thank you. You look so beautiful tonight too." I said back.
"Thank you Keigh."
She is three years older than me but she looks so young at her age.
"Thank you for attending Keigh. It's a big pleasure to me and my hubby that you come." She sincerely thanked me.
"No worries and besides you're not new to me." I replied.
She smiled and excused herself, she went towards her husband, Mr. Xiao Feng.
"Ms. Fuentabella!" Mr. Xiao Feng. He probably thinks that I wouldn't attend.
I just smiled at him.
"Thank you for coming Ms. Fuentabella." He said and kissed the temple of my hand to show his gratitude.
I nodded and pulled away my hand.
I went to a table; I was the only one there. Xi and Criss were entertained the other guests.
I silently watched the whole area. Elegant, peaceful and beautiful. The people around are elites and nobles of the society. Most of them are business magnates, politicians, and so many more.
I saw Xi go on stage and give a speech. Such a wonderful speech. The next thing they did was to explain why there was such an event. There are many people who donate, some of them donated with clear intentions but of course, some were not.
I donated 20 million. After all, that's was just a small amount of money, I earned more than that a day.
I believe. We should share the blessings that God given to us.
Aside from that donation thing they also did an activity. Auction. It's also a donation in case you buy something.
The first item they bid is a painting, It was an antique precisely. It was painted by a famous painter of the renaissance era.
It was bought by a woman who loves and collects Antics for half a million. The beading price started at fifty thousand.
Next is a white Pearl Necklace. A woman who loved pearls bought it for two million.
In all of the things they sell, only one caught my attention. That is the Blue Diamond Ring. I like the design. The ring came from England but the diamond came from the Middle East.
The bidding price started at 3 million. So many women liked that ring, so they made their husband to bit for it.
"5 million!" I heard a woman shouted.
"5.5 million!" Said by a woman that was close to her place.
"6 million!" A man said from in front.
"7 million!" The woman yelled again, she's the one who bid five million.
"8 million!" The man shouted.
"10 million"
"10. 5 million"
"12 million!"
"15 million!"
"17 million !!"
"18 million!"
"20 million !!"
"25 million!"
None of them wanted to lose.
"25.5 million!" The man shouted
"26 million!" The woman yelled once again, she was determined to get the ring huh?
The man fell silent.
"Any higher?" The Emcee asked.
No one spoke. I saw the woman smiled widely while her husband frowned. It looks like his wife is a brat. Pssh.
"In a count of 3 ... 2-"
"30 million." I coldly said.
All of them looked at me at shocked.
"Woah any higher?" The Emcee said in amazement.
No one spoke. I saw the woman annoying her husband. I guess the Blue Diamond Ring were mine now.
"In a count of 3 ... 2 ... 1 ... Okay The Blue Diamond Ring was sold by Ms. Fuen-" he couldn't continue what he was going to say because someone spoke from behind me.
"50 million." He emotionlessly said.
The Emcee's jaw dropped even more. Oh, is this person still alive? Even though I can't see him, I know he's looking at me. But the hell I care.
I didn't bid for the ring anymore so the Blue Diamond Ring went to him. I take a sip on the wine that I was holding.
I felt him approach me but I ignored him. I saw him sit in the vacant seat next to me.
I was thinking about something. Why did he come back? The auction ended quietly, the two of us remained silent. By the way, there's nothing we should talk about.
I saw Cristina approach us with a smile on her lips.
"Mr. Dela Vega. Thank you so much for coming. I didn't expect you to come."
He answered with only a stingy nod. Pssh. Cold.
"Criss. I have to go now." I say goodbye to her.
She looked at me.
"Are you leaving?" She asked.
I nodded.
"All right thanks for coming. I'll just visit you at your main office soon." She replied while smiling.
I nodded and stood up on my seat.
"Bye Cristina." I hug her before I leave
"Bye."
I started walking out of the Venue and ignored him completely, I just treated him like a wind. Don't get me wrong. I'm not bitter but I just really lost the interest to wait for him to come back.
It is true the saying that whoever leaves, will be the one who will going to return.
"Keigh. Wait." I heard him say.
I never stopped walking.
"Keigh!" He called again.
This time, I stopped walking and looked at him.
He's looking so cold at me so, I coldly stared at him in return.
"It's Ms. Fuentabella for you mister." I coldly said.
He fell silent. I don't think he had anything to say so I turned my back on him.
"I already knew the truth." He said out of the blue.
I stopped going in my car and looked at him again.
His cold look was replaced by sadness, guilt, longing and love? Tsk
I sarcastically smiled at him.
"Good for you." As I said that, I get inside my car and leave.
He's back and he already knew the truth. But it's kinda late already. I've been waiting for him to come back a few years ago but he didn't. He chose to leave me. He preferred to run away from our problem. He refused to hear me out. He refused to believe me. And that was the wrong decision he made.
I tried to tell him the truth but unfortunately, he leaved. He left without even hearing the truth behind all the lies.
