Chapter 42
Chasing Her
Collyne Keigh POV
"Good morning Ma'am." A woman bowed as she greeted me.
I just nodded and went to my office. I saw Carrie there, my Assistant and also my Secretary.
"Good morning Ma'am Keigh!" She greeted me with a smile in her face.
I nodded and sparingly smiled as I opened the door of my main office and went inside.
Carrie followed me.
"Carrie? What's my agenda for today?"
"This is your schedule for today, you will attend a meeting at 10 am. Then after the meeting you will have an appointment with Ms. Sy." She answered. I sat in my swivel chair and looked at her.
"Is it Jessica?" I asked her.
What does that woman need from me?
"Jessica ma'am? Who is that?" She confusedly asked.
"Oh, forgot what I've been said." I replied, I remember she's not Jessica anymore.
"How about in the afternoon?" I asked again.
She looked at the iPad she was holding and then looked at me again.
"You are free at the afternoon. No appointments. No meetings. No gatherings" she answered.
I nodded in satisfaction, that sounds cool.
"Very well. Okay, you can go back to your station now" I told her.
"Okay Ma'am." She replied and bowed before she leaved.
She came out of my office. I glanced at the clock on my wall. 9:04 am.
I leaned my head back in my swivel chair first and closed my eyes slightly.
I was stunned by a noise coming from outside my office. My two eyebrows met. What's happening?
I got up from my chair and walked closer to the door.
"Sir. You're really not allowed to come in. You don't have any appointment with her." I heard Carrie insisted.
"I just wanted to talk to her." Someone answered.
Hmm?
"But sir, it's not really possible!" Carrie said once again.
"This is important." He said seriously.
I opened the door of my office.
What is he doing here?
"Ma'am, he's struggling to came in." Carrie said to me.
"Keig-"
"Carrie. Go now. I'll take care of him" I told her what should she do.
She couldn't do anything but to nodded her head and left. I travelled my gaze to the person in front of me.
I looked at him coldly.
"What do you need?" I seriously questioned him.
His cold eyes softened.
"I ... I want to talk to you." He uttered.
My two eyebrows met.
" About what?" I asked.
"About us." He replied that I almost laughed.
About us? I think he forgot. We don't have anything because he cut what we had four years ago.
"About us?" I asked sarcastically.
I faked a smile.
"What are we going to talk about then? Talk now, I'll listen."
His face became even softer. He was about to touch me but I moved slightly away from him.
I saw regret, fear and longing in his eyes.
"Keigh." He calls my name.
"Leave now Calyx!" I gently commanded him and smiled again. Clearly, a fake one.
He shook his head at what I said.
"No. I want to talk to you. I need to fix everything."
That's when I laughed hard. Damn. Fix everything my ass.
"I didn't know you knew how to joke!" I said while laughing hard. Damn that was hilarious.
I just stopped laughing when I saw him seriously looked at me. Okay, okay, I'll stop.
"I'm not kidding Keigh." He said seriously.
"Oh really? Okay."
His face became even more serious.
"Okay I get it. If you're here to apologize. It's okay, we're cool now. Past is past. Whatever happened in the past was over, okay?"
He became silent at what I said. He was just looking at me. Hmm? I know I'm beautiful but I don't think it's right for him to look at me like that.
I looked at my wrist watch. 9:36 am.
Hmm. I looked at him.
"If you have nothing else to do but stare at me. You can leave now." I told him seriously.
"Keigh ..." He called my name again.
Is it just Keigh I can hear from him? Yes, I know my name is beautiful, because the owner is also beautiful. Pssh.
I just turned my back on him and was about to enter my office but he stopped me. He grabbed my elbow and pulled me closer to him. My face slammed into his chest.
I felt him hug me tightly.
"Calyx." I said coldly to him
I tried pushed him but he didn't let me go instead he tightened his grip on me.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry for leaving you." He whispered in my ear.
I remained silent.
"Please. Forgive me. I didn-" I cut him off.
"You're forgiven, now go. I still have a meeting to attend." I coldly said to him and pushed him away.
He distanced himself from me. I saw the pain and guilt on his face.
"Keigh ..."
"Leave now Calyx." I commanded him.
He couldn't say anything at what I said.
I was about to enter my office but I heard him speak
"I'm not going to leave. We will talk. You haven't forgiven me yet and you will never forgive me. I'm sorry for everything. I'm sorry for what I did. Please give me a chance. A one more chance." Oh, how pitiful. I thought sarcastically.
Pssh. I just went into my office and didn't look back at him.
I took my things and went out of my office again. I saw him still standing beside the wall. When he noticed me, he looked at me.
"Where are you going?" He asked.
" It's none of your business." I answered coldly and walked to my personal elevator. I saw him follow me. I stopped walking and turned to look at him.
"Don't you have your own company to rule and I'm the one you're bothering?" I asked him
"You are more important than my work." He answered.
Really? Okay whatever he say. I just ignored him.
We have reached the ground floor. I saw Carrie there.
"Ma'am at Cristèls Restaurant it seems." She informed me.
I nodded.
We went out and I can sense he is still following me. I just let him go. He will take care of his life.
I got in my parked car.
"Carrie. Get in." I commanded her.
She got in. I'm using a different car now. Not the one I used last time. Now the car I use is Pagani Huarya.
I saw him get in his car and follow me. We have arrived at Cristèls Restaurant.
"Any reservations ma'am?" A woman gently asked us.
"Flores reservation" Carrie answered.
The woman looked at her list and then turned her gaze back to the two of us. She smiled.
"This way ma'am." She politely said.
She led us to the reserved table. I saw Mr. Flores there and his wife and also their son.
"Ms. Fuentabella!" Mr. Flores happily said as he saw me.
I just nodded at him.
"Take a seat Ms. Fuentabella. We are so glad you accept our invitation." He said cheerfully.
I sat in an empty seat in front of their son looking at me.
Maybe he's just a few years older than me.
"I don't want to waste time here so what do you need Mr. Flores?" I coldly ask.
He laughed softly.
"Such a straight forward lady." Is that a compliment?
Pssh. Looks like I'm just wasting my time here.Download Novelah App
