Unexpected 52: Treatment
This morning, I woke up early so I immediately left my room and went downstairs. I was just on the stairs when I smelled the delicious smell of food coming from the kitchen. I smiled and felt my stomach growl because of the smell of cooking food.
I suddenly remembered the last thing Zandy said to me last night. I've been thinking about it all night and I can't get away from myself. I hear it over and over even when I'm lying down with my eyes closed. I don't know why what he told me had such an effect that even my heart was beating fast.
After Zandy and I talked the other day, I went down to the living room and Mom and Dad said their goodbyes, and Uncle Andrew and Aunt Mandy also apologized for what happened. After a few minutes, Zandy also left without saying goodbye. I waited for him to come back but I just fell asleep waiting for him. I felt worried for him because I knew he was upset.
I don't know either but I feel excited about the three-day vacation or they prefer to call it a honeymoon. At first, I wanted to say no but because of the way Zandy and Uncle Andrew answered, I thought it might help Zandy. To relax and take some rest from his stress and disappointment in life.
I continued walking. Zandy was in the kitchen facing the stove and holding the ladle. She was wearing a pink apron that I always wear. It has a unicorn design there. I smiled because that was cute.
"Wow! I felt so hungry when I smelled the food," I said to him. I was nervous about his possible reaction. He might insult me again or ignore me.
He faced me and a smile appeared on his lips as if his face lit up in my sight because of that. My arms rested on the counter while looking at him. I couldn't take my eyes off his handsome face while wearing a pink apron and holding a ladle. There is a trace of joy on his face because of what he's doing.
"I know you're hungry, Miles, that's why I woke up early to cook," he said seriously, then faced the pan again. "I'm sorry, Miles for what happened yesterday," he said softly but enough for me to hear. "And I'm also sorry because I didn't get home early last night to cook," he added.
I kept looking at him while he was mixing what he was cooking like it was a sauce somewhere. "No, it's ok, Zandy, you don't need to apologize. I understand you." I breathed and bowed slightly. "I was just worried last night too, because you didn't come home." I didn't know that was what came out of my lips and it was too late to take it back. "I mean, I'm worried because I know you're in a bad mood and you might drink and get hurt," I explained.
Zandy faced me. A slight smile curved his lips. "Thank you for your concern, Miles," he said and looked away from me. He took the potholder and took out the pan. He went to the table and I saw a cut of meat that looked like it had been fried. He poured the sauce over it and put a leaf on top.
"Wow! You did that?" I asked in disbelief as I looked at the food on the table that looked delicious. It was steak with sauce on top and edible leaves that gave the food a good appearance.
Zandy smiled. "Yeah! I want to make it up to you, for making me feel that there's someone who can understand and support me. Thank you, Miles," he said seriously with the last words.
I was stunned by him. I don't know but I just wanted to look at him because I didn't know Zandy had this kind of attitude. He became even more handsome in my eyes. The Zandy in front of me was completely different than the Zandy I knew before.
"Hey! Miles, are you ok?"
I blinked. I didn't realize I was stunned. I bowed and immediately looked away from him. Only then did I realize that my heart was beating strangely? I felt a strange twist in it.
I tried to smile. "I'm ok, Zandy I just can't believe you're saying those words to me. We've been together for a few months and I know we're both struggling with each other. We only got married because they wanted to and not because we want," I said seriously. My face became serious. "I also know that we didn't get along at first and there were a lot of misunderstandings and scoldings and I didn't expect that you're gonna treat me like this," I confessed.
Zandy tilted her head slightly. He even scratched his forehead. "Honestly, I don't know why I'm acting like this, Miles, maybe I felt the support that I need and I know you understand me."
I bowed for a moment. "Maybe, because I also felt the pressure when they told me they want me to marry you." I laughed softly. "It's hard to lock yourself in the things you don't want to do because of their wishes and I want you to feel that someone understands you, even though I don't know who you are, Zandy," I said seriously.
Zandy smiled, holding the back of the bench across from the table. "I want to know you more, Miles," he said seriously. I was speechless. There was silence around. Zandy scratched his forehead again. "W-we talked too much, Miles the food is cold. Let's eat," he said and immediately turned his back on me to prepare the food.
I looked at him seriously but then I just smiled too. I didn't expect us to get to this point, without yelling and scolding each other. I don't know but my heart is very happy with what is happening. I know there's a part of me that wants to get to know him better because I know there's so much more to him.

"HEY! You're thinking what, Miles? You've been out of this world there for a while."
I blinked and looked at Andrea and Melissa looking at me. I just finished my articles and I didn't realize that I was dumbfounded. It's been a few minutes and it's lunchtime. I just can't get out of my mind the conversation Zandy and I had this morning. I can't believe it happened. I didn't think we would get to the point where we would talk seriously, without insults, without criticism. This time, it was a deep conversation with each other so that we could get to know some parts of our personalities.
I looked away from the two in front of me and bowed slightly. I bit my bottom lip slightly because of the smile that was forming on my lips. I feel joy because of the change that is happening between Zandy and me and I don't know why.
I tried to be serious and looked up at them. "No, I just thought about some matters," I just answered to be safe and they wouldn't doubt.
"Some matters? What are those matters? Solid, liquid, gas, what? It's like you're daydreaming. Is it about Zandy? Roven? Who?" Melissa laughed with excitement on her face.
I frowned at Melissa. "No, it's just about the vacation that our parents prepared for us," I just said but that wasn't really what I had in mind.
"Vacation with Zandy? Whoa! This is real? Is it all real, Miles?" Andrea said in surprise.
My forehead furrowed even more. "Crazy! We're not the ones who want it, ok? Our parents want us to go on a vacation," I clarified.
The joy and excitement couldn't be removed from the faces of the two. "Can we come along?" Melissa asked.
Andrea slightly pushed the one next to her. "Crazy! You're still going to hang out, don't you get it? Their parents are giving Miles and Zandy privacy, a time," Andrea protested. "To make a baby," she added with a laugh.
I was surprised by what Andrea and Melissa said. "Baby? We're not doing what you're thinking, Andrea. Zandy doesn't love me for us to do that," I said seriously with a trace of sadness in it that I don't know where it came from.
The two people next to me looked at each other. "So, you already love him? You seem so disappointed when you say he doesn't love you," commented Melissa.
I bent down for a moment to avoid looking at them. "Of course not, Melissa. I don't love Zandy and he doesn't love me either. There will come a point where we will break up and I don't want to attach myself to him even more."
"Wait! It looks like the wind has changed, Miles. The way you say it, it's like you don't want that point to come and you keep your distance from him because you know you're getting closer to Zandy," Andrea said seriously. just looking at me
"Why? There's nothing wrong when you feel like you're attached to him, Miles. Since, you were single when you met, right? Why don't you just tell the truth?" Andrea asked.
"I don't know, Andrea, because everything is complicated and it gets even more complicated when people from the past return."
"What do you mean bringing people back to your past?" Andrea was curious.
"Hey! Work! Work! Work!."
Our conversation was interrupted when we heard Chad walk into the room, coming from the studio. I saw Melissa making a face. "That man is a destroyer," he whispered, annoyed.
"Oh! Go ahead and leave my side and go to work," I smiled as I shooed them away.
"We're not done yet, Miles, we'll talk more about that," Andrea said before leaving in front of me. I just smiled.
When they left in front of me, my face became serious and what Andrea and Melissa said came back to my mind. What if I'm getting closer to Zandy? What if the point comes that I fall for him and Beverly comes back again? How can I when I am close to him, then he will ask me about the annulment?
Many possibilities in my mind can happen and I am afraid of them. I didn't know what was going to happen and I didn't know how I would feel as the days passed with Zandy and getting to know him better.Download Novelah App
