Special Chapter 6

Zandy's POV
I DON'T know why I'm here outside the building where Miles works waiting for her to come out. I just found myself stopping here.
I know her reaction when I offer her a ride and I'm sure she will refuse and fight me. That's not new to me. Since the two of us got married, the fights and brawls between Miles and I have not gone away.
We have been married for a few days and we are not in the same house together. Our family left us in such a setup and as I expected, I knew they had a plan to bring Miles and me together under the same roof. I wasn't surprised when Mom gave Miles the key to our future house. We didn't do anything if we didn't agree to what they wanted because we agreed to marry each other first.
I know it won't be easy for both of us to live under the same roof but there is nothing we can do about it. I'm fed up. I just thought that since Miles still thinks I'm gay, there will still be a boundary between the two of us. No closeness can be formed and no feelings can be attached.
Because I knew that Miles would fight me if she saw me and that she would surely refuse me, I thought of a mischievous plan so that if I offered her, she would agree.
I smiled mischievously while looking at her car. "I know how to play, Miles," I said, then approached her car. I looked at the tire of the car.
I sat opposite it while holding it. I grinned before steaming the car's tire until it was flat. When I was satisfied, I smiled. I shook my hand, then stood up and grinned.
"I'll give you the game you want, Miles," I said. I walked away from her car and went back to my car to wait for her to come out of the building.
I waited for Miles for a few more minutes before I saw her leave the building carrying her things. She was alone and her face was serious. The fatigue was obvious. I don't know but I felt something as I watched her approach her car. I want to help her.
Miles didn't notice me when she got to her car. I came next to her. She was about to open the car when I spoke.
"Are you sure you're gonna use your car? Look at the tire."
I could see her surprise when she saw me. I gasped as I looked at her seriously.
"You? What are you doing here?" She immediately growled at me.
"I'm your husband, remember?" I said to tease her even more that I don't know why I'm happy every time I see her teased.
"Husband?" I saw her grin. "Don't act like we're a real couple, Zandy. We're not a real couple because we don't both want that marriage," she said angrily, then turned to the car. "Damn! Why now?" She frowned when she saw that her car's tire was flat. I secretly smiled.
"And now, there's a reason why I'm here," I said seriously. "To help you with your problems. I'll give you a ride," I offered.
She looked at me seriously. "Did you do this?" She confronted me.
I laughed a little because of that and acted not guilty. "What? Are you accusing me? I'm not that shallow to do that," I lied.
She didn't say a word while just looking at me and I think I convinced her of my lying. "I'd rather take a taxi than ride in your car," she said.
I gasped because of his stubbornness. Can't she lower her pride? "Are you that stupid, Miles? I offer you a ride because I mean it," I said without knowing I had said it. I want to ride her.
She smirked. "Really? I don't believe you, Zandy, you're just being nice to me, because what? Because you feel guilty for what you did to me? For stealing my boyfriend."
I gasped. Is that it again? The past? "Come on, Miles, it's been a year, you need to move on. You keep going back to the past that should have been forgotten. You're only going to get hurt."
She grinned again. "Really, Zandy? I can't measure how thick your face is to tell me to move on and forget what happened. You weren't the one who was hurt and traded with other men so you have no right to tell me that because you are the reason why that happened," she scolded emphatically.
I scratched my forehead. "Ok, fine, it's up to you what to believe. Maybe, it's better if that's all you know about me."
I'm annoyed and I don't know why. She keeps bringing back the past that she should be forgetting because only she will be hurt. Yes, I know I was at fault there and I understand how she feels but if she stays in the delusion of the past, she will only continue to hurt herself.
It wasn't the first time I had steamrolled Miles' car tire to get her to agree to ride with me. I don't understand that even though I know she hates me and won't agree to my offer, I still insist on it and find a way to get her to agree.
I can't even understand myself that I love teasing her and I feel a kind of joy every time I see her teased. I didn't even realize that sometimes I was kind to her.
I also didn't expect to cook for her like I never did with any other woman besides Beverly. I just realized that I was facing the stove and cooking food for her. Maybe, I know that Miles can't cook and we'll starve if I don't cook. Because I don't like eating orders from outside.
Everything that happens to Miles and me, I didn't expect to happen, the same way I feel strange every time I'm with Miles, and every time I tease her I feel happy.
