Chapter 22 Let Me Love You

The daybreak spring forth and like the wonder of the fresh wind hovers circling the atmosphere, the birds sang in symphony as the leaves dance along with the rhythm of the air. Yet despite the calming vibes amidst the woods, an opposing aura coated the camp.
Celeste Guerra got up from laying down and opened her eyes with a stiff emotion. She roamed her sight around the center of the woods where they remained for the entire night and once more as the darted her gaze at the woman who sulks at the corner with her eyes in tears and with her shattered heart.
Last night was not as good as it seemed. Terra Elliot mourned her friend's death and they could not do anything to offer her comfort. She feels so dreary upon the report and she felt regretful for not being able to rescue her best pal.
"Terra, the sunrise is coming, shall we proceed to have our walk toward the kingdom of Iasariel?" Celeste asks while walking her way in the direction of Terra.
"I don't know, Celeste. I am somewhat exhausted at the moment, it seems that my mind is not productive today." Terra shrugged off and proceeded to lift her face towards heaven. She often stares at the sky while reflecting on herself, she had so many things to regret.
"Please have your rest, for now, we can always begin our journey as soon as you are feeling alright." Upon the sudden uneasiness of the atmosphere, Celeste Guerra shifted her attention and gradually walks away. She thought that perhaps leaving Terra alone at the moment would help her calm down.
Terra Elliot sighs as she lowered her shoulders. "If this is a dream, I am bound in this nightmare. I wish to wake up from this protracted slumber," she whispers as she closes her eyes and began to sense the refreshing wind which gently shoves her bare skin.
"There is a lot of stuff taking place, and I feel so drained. I could feel that my strength was depleted," she once more muttered to herself. She knows to herself that she journeyed far enough and she cannot go back. Every single thing would be meaningless if she would give up and left everything behind.
Terra carelessly buried her face on her knees as she tightly closed her eyes, recalling the good moments she once had with Ezekiel Harold. "Kiel once mentioned to me about a creator and I am however confused why this is happening," she continued to speak to herself as a way of letting out her anger.
She is apparently angry with herself and she wanted to bring back everything from the start, hoping to live a simple life. "What a shame, Terra. Perhaps this is all your fault if you didn't meet Thrille in the woods, you wouldn't be here being cautious and seeking for him."
She soon realized that blaming herself won't do any good and it won't change a single thing. Terra did her best to bring back to her senses and concluded to go and have a cold bath at the nearby lake. She wanted to get out of the forest and be able to do something more helpful to cease the upcoming war between the kingdoms and nations.
Running away from the camp, her companions are left dumbfounded and a bit confused about her abrupt exit. Cachet Memphis takes a deep breath before attempting to speak with Celeste Guerra.
"It saddening to think about Terra's situation, the unbearable trauma must have been bothering her, I pity her," Memphis uttered while launching to carry the withered woods to prepare for a fire. They assigned a task for themselves and they take turns in hunting for sustenance and assembling the fire.
Celeste on the other hand simply nodded her head as she agreed, "It is heart-shattering to know that one of your loved ones perished, it struck your soul and it feels like you don't ever want to live any longer in this ugly world."
Straightaway, both of them gaze at one another as they began to process in their head the things they are pertaining about. "Have you endured the same circumstance?" Memphis asks with her eyes wide open. On the flip side, Celeste rolled her eyes and tried her best to ignore the woman's issue.
She admitted that terrible remembrances from before began to flash in her head. She dislikes such emotions, a feeling of hatred, regrets, and vindication were colliding within her heart and she has the urge to burst out.
"Lock your mouth, Memphis. You know nothing about what had gone on with my past," she hissed, and that cause the lass to think deeply.
"I did nothing, what's with the bitter response?" She replied with a wide smile yet upon receiving a deadly glare from Celeste, she instantly bit her upper lip to prevent herself from smiling. She would appear to be teasing her, and she doesn't want to get herself into trouble.
"My apologies, I did not mean to say anything that would trigger your scar," Cachet Memphis narrowly lowered her head to avert her gaze from the woman before her. Yet still, the fear inside her was about to erupt.
"Forget about it," Celeste ignored her and was about to turn her back away to get rewind herself yet she was stopped upon hearing Memphis from behind.
"Alam mo, hindi ko mawari kung bakit ibang lengwahe ang ginagamit natin, kung tutuusin parehas naman tayong nag kakaintindihan sa wikang kinagisnan natin." With confusion in her looks, she waited for Celeste's response yet she was eventually left dumbfounded when she did not receive any reply as she assumed.
"Why is she acting so cold? She's not ice, to begin with," she muttered and proceeded to wrap up her chore.
Meanwhile, Theodore Elliot remained in his seat as he waited for the king to arrive. He was reasonably desperate to meet the ruler of Thornsfrost. All he ever wanted was to get into the progress of his new position in the estate. He wanted to open up about what recently occurred in the dungeon, he greatly despised his former servant Sage Williams. Theodore could not accept the fact that he was betrayed by his own pet, he could recall how he fed her yet as she grows up she would have the guts to bite her owner.
"Captain? What made you visit too soon? Did something go on?" Theodore was startled upon hearing a voice from behind, it was the eldest prince who stood straight at the entrance of the hall.
In an instant, he replaced his reaction and let go of a welcoming smile. "Good day, Prince Gohan. I was waiting for the King's arrival, I have an important conference to present before him."
The prince observed his behavior and he could sense that he is up to something. Yet he considered his greetings and nodded his head, "Sadly to announce, you must reschedule your meeting with him. The King has been engaged with something more crucial, Prince Timothy was lost at the moment, and we need to look for him."
The captain was stunned upon attending to the voice of the Prince. He felt surprised and was deeply disturbed. "I have to take my leave sir, excuse me," Prince Gohan was about to take his exit yet the Captain called out for his attention.
"Shall I gather the other troops to help?" He questioned and the Prince responded with a nod. He finally departed the hall and Theodore was abandoned supposed to be disheartened.
Gohan Ambers had his way to the chamber where his mother, the Queen stays. He feels wrong about being incapable of finding his brother, he knew it would make their mother unhappy.
Upon reaching for the door, he was halted from entering when he saw in the corner of his eyes a figure of a woman. He could sense how a dark aura wrapped his body and his knees became weak, "Constance..." He mentioned her name upon recognizing that it was her fragrance that he smell.
"How are you, my prince?" She seductively uttered and went closer in his direction. The Prince gulped the moment she darted herself to him.
"What do you want this time? You told me our deal would be tomorrow," Gohan Ambers muttered, stopping himself from staring deeply into her eyes. He knows it's a trap, Constance can be tricky as well and from the beginning he never trusts her.
"Pardon me, my prince. I couldn't sleep last time, for I was plotting our encounter. I couldn't help myself but be here and behold your charm." She was trying hard to sound so sweet and pleasing before him yet every tip of her disgusted him, and she knows that. Constance knows Gohan will never love her back, for he was too in love with Terra.
She plotted a lot of schemes to trap the Prince and to completely own him yet she loves her so much that she could not do anything to harm him. Constance doesn't want to force the man she loves to return the same affection she felt toward him. She's too foolish to be a martyr and volunteer herself to provide a love potion for the Prince.
"Woman, will you distance yourself from me? I don't wish to appear rude before you, so please..." his phrases offend the witch and she feels ashamed of her behavior.
Constance immediately restrained herself from him and lowered her head, with teary eyes she bit her lower lip. She began to despise herself for being so hopeless, her heart went mad and she hates how she responds when it comes to love. She never wished to be cursed yet she never assumed that she would still feel emotions as she lives her life for a decade.
For her, falling in love makes you become bounded and enslaved to that person. Permitting yourself to become so foolish just to please someone you truly cherish.
"Is there something wrong with missing someone I ever honor and adore?" She whispered and it was too clear for the Prince to hear her words.
"Constance, cease hoping. You understand that I will never be yours, I love somebody else, and she will never be you. Enough with your foolishness, you are only hurting yourself." As soon as she heard his words, her heart was in deep agony and the world was like a burden to her.
"... I understand," the witch whispers as she stutters, stopping herself from crying. 'Why are you so vulnerable and soft, Constance? You are supposed to be strong and be mad all you want,' she thought to herself.
Constance could not move as if her feet were nailed to the floor, she wanted to be mad at him, she wanted to curse him to his face yet she could not express what she deeply feels upon being slapped by the truth.
"What do you truly wish?" She asks once more, pretending to be tough before his sight.
The Prince let out a heavy sigh before answering her question, "I want you gone," he responds with a fierce expression.
She feels the pain, it was like a bolt of lightning that flashes on her, it stings. However, she simply smiles at him. "Make me," she muttered as she gaze at his irises, attempting to challenge him.
The clear turquoise water overflows as it gently rushes its streams toward the end of the spring. A mademoiselle was bathing as she enjoys the refreshing feeling of the cold waters. She wanted to cool down to momentarily erase the negative emotions she felt, hoping to overcome the hatred she felt along with the grief she has been undergoing.
The sun brightly shines toward the earth and its heat outburst causes the little plants to wither yet it never affects the lass who was drenched. "I probably just keep going until my purpose will be clearly seen and known," she thought about herself, for it confuses her about the journey she started.
Going anywhere without understanding your purpose and mission to accomplish is like a foolish man who goes with the flow as to how the season comes out. It is also similar to a wave of the sea being tossed by the wind. No clearer picture of her destination and found no vision at all about what must take place.
"I bet you have been stressing yourself too much, milady."
A familiar voice disturbs her and she was startled upon seeing the face of a man whom she has been seeking for. He was deeply staring at her with a playful smirk on his edges and he was standing by the river, admiring her from afar.
"Thrille..." Her lips parted out of surprise and she could not move, she wanted to swim in haste and punch the man in his face yet she was too stunned to see him once again. She felt the sudden rush of her heartbeat.
"Strange," she whispers.
As usual, his teasing grin was the first thing that greeted her sight. He couldn't agree more, he misses her a lot, and having a great encounter with her in the middle of her bathing makes him even glad. "Before you could even throw your questions at me, and stab me with your arrow, do realize that you cannot reach me from there," he retorted with a teasing look as he took a glimpse of her body figure.
"Pervert!" Terra Elliot hissed and buried herself deeper into the stream, she felt embarrassed upon realizing that Thrille saw her body. Her cheeks were burning and flashing red.
"Why are you ashamed? It's not like I never saw that for the first time," he coldly uttered which cause Terra to feel uncomfortable. She wanted to throw stones at him yet she was too bothered to move.
"Zip your mouth, monster! I don't want to hear any words from you!" Her face turns even rosy as how it was out of annoyance. Thrille Daven simply unbuttons his rob and in an instant, he dwells among the waters.
"Hush, Terra. I know this is so sudden yet I truly missed you," he whispers as he swam closer to her. As he reached in her direction, Terra hastily wrapped her arms around her upper body and turned her back to prevent herself from seeing the man whom she always found mysterious ever since she met her.
"Stop acting like you really care, you don't know how heavy are the burdens I have been carrying all along," she asserted and bit her lower lip while trying to stop herself from crying.
As the minutes began to count, Terra began to sob as she tries to avoid him. "... You know what? Sometimes, I would blame you for being so selfish. If we never met, this situation wouldn't become as worse as this."
Thrille feels so awestruck and even if he could not feel any guilt, or pity for her, he still wants to make her feel that he cares. He knows he did wrong because it is his fate. He was awakened from his deep slumber so he could destroy the mortal realm. He never assume that he would meet her and that his lifeless heart would beat for her. He wants to assure something, yet it is too obvious to seek for another sign. He adores her so much that he wants her to be his.
"I hate you, Thrille. You are the worse, I hate you for bringing this distress to me. I hate you for being like that, you are a monster!" Terra began to sob even more as she let out of the pain she has been keeping all along.
Thrille could see that she was fragile and although he appears to be so numb, he desires to ease the pain in her heart. He is deeply aware of their difference, she is a mortal and her life is limited, she feels different emotions while he could not truly appreciate anything, for his heart was caged in the deepest pit. It only started beating again the moment he encountered Terra and he feels so confused about it.
He could see anger in her eyes, "It's okay to hate me, Terra. Call me names until you will feel better, yet do remember this one thing I shall tell you." She was surprised when he gently pulled her closer to him and she darted herself to his chest.
Their face was an inch away when she realized that he was leaning his face nigher to her. Before he could whisper in her hearing, his lips touches her cheeks until he reached for her ears, "... Permit me to love you, in that simple way, I would truly appreciate it." He never waste the chance he had to embrace her, and she weeps once more until she was hushed.
