Chapter 11 THE DARKEST HOUR

Phinel's mind raced as she tried to process the information. She couldn't believe her mother was capable of such a thing. "Granny, is it true?" she asked, her voice shaking.
Granny hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. "I don't know, sweetie. I don't know what happened. But we need to be strong for each other, okay?"
Berta continued to cry, her small body shaking with sobs. Dan's face was red with anger, his fists clenched. He shook his head, his eyes welling up with tears. "No, no, no. This can't be true. Mom would never do that. She loved Dad. They were happy."
Phinel tried to calm him down, but her own emotions were in turmoil. She felt like her whole world was crumbling around her.
"I don't care what they say. Mom would never hurt anyone, let alone Dad. She's the best mom in the world." Phinel mumbled.
Berta nodded in agreement, her eyes red from crying. "Yeah, Mom is the best. She would never do something bad."
Their grandmother looked concerned. She knew the children were in denial, and it would take time for them to accept the truth.
As the night wore on, the children struggled to come to terms with the news. They were filled with questions, anger, and sadness. They kept thinking that it was all a terrible mistake, that their mother would walk through the door at any moment and explain everything.
But most of all, they were filled with a sense of loss and betrayal. Their mother, the person they loved and trusted most, had been accused of killing their father. It was a pain they would never forget.
Deep down, they knew that things would never be the same again. Their family was torn apart, and they were left to pick up the pieces.

As they arrived at the station, Granny's heart sank. She had never imagined that her daughter would be in this situation. Louisa was already there, surrounded by a swarm of reporters. The police were trying to keep them back, but they were relentless, shouting questions and snapping photos.
Granny quickly ushered the children to their mother's side, trying to shield them from the chaos. Louisa's eyes were red from crying, and she looked like she had been through a nightmare.
Phinel, Dan, and Berta clung to their mother, tears streaming down their faces. "Mom!" they cried, trying to be heard above the din of the reporters.  "We love you, Mom," Dan said. "We know you didn't do it."
Louisa smiled weakly. Granny watched, her heart heavy with sorrow. She knew that Louisa's fate was all but sealed.
Louisa hugged them tightly, trying to comfort them. "I'm so sorry, my babies," she whispered. "I love you so much."
Meanwhile, Pandy, Do-Hyun, Livvy, and Randolph watched from the entrance of the station, their faces filled with empathy. They knew how hard this was for the children and their grandmother.
"This is heartbreaking," Pandy said, shaking her head.
Do-Hyun nodded. "I can't imagine what they're going through."
Livvy's eyes were filled with tears. "We have to make sure they get the support they need."
Randolph put a hand on her shoulder. "We will. We'll do everything we can to help them through this."
After a few moments, the police finally managed to clear a path through the reporters, gently pulling her away with her children clinging to her. She was then put in the prison transport. " Time to go," one of them said.
The scene was one of utter devastation, and the detectives knew that this was a moment that would stay with them forever.
Louisa looked back at her children, her eyes filled with tears. "I'm really sorry...forgive me."
They watched their mother being taken away, the children felt a sense of numbness wash over them. They knew that their lives would never be the same again.
The police car soon faded away in the distance. The children and their grandmother were left standing alone, surrounded by the lingering reporters. Pandy, Do-Hyun, Livvy, and Randolph quickly stepped in, forming a protective barrier around them.
"Let's get you out of here," Pandy said gently, leading them away from the chaos.
They walked in silence, the only sound being the children's sniffles and the distant hum of the reporters' voices.
Finally, they reached the detectives' car, and Livvy opened the door. "We'll take you home," she said softly.
Granny nodded, her eyes red from crying. "Thank you," she whispered.
As they drove away, the children looked out the window, watching the police station disappear into the distance. The silence was soon broken when Dan spoke up. "What's going to happen to Mom?"
Randolph's expression was somber. "We'll do everything we can to help her, but it's going to be a tough road ahead."
Phinel's eyes welled up with tears. "I don't want to lose her," she whispered.
Granny put a comforting arm around her shoulders. "We'll get through this together, okay?"
But as they drove on, the weight of their situation hung heavy in the air. They knew that nothing could ever be the same again.
                                                      **********
Pandy finally arrived home after the day's chaos. Her house after the previous day's attack had been cleaned up. It was back to the one she loved. She felt the need to wash off the troubles of the day~ the case of Fredrick's murder had seen a positive end and she felt relieved.
But then, her eyes fell on the wall. The note left in bloody red reflected back in her mind again. " WE MEET AGAIN." Pandy felt the shivers run down her spin. She knew the HOLY MURDERER was watching her from somewhere and will strick again anytime soon.
Pandy headed straight to her investigative room, her mind racing with thoughts of the Holy Murderer. She had to get to the bottom of this, had to find out who was behind the note and the murders.
As she entered the room, she was greeted by the familiar sight of her investigative board, covered in notes and photos. She had been working on the case for weeks, but she still had no leads.
Pandy sighed and sat down at her desk, rubbing her temples. She was getting nowhere.
Just as she was about to start going through the case files again, her phone rang. It was Livvy.
"Hey, Pandy. I've been going through the security footage from your house," Livvy said. "And I think I found something."
Pandy's heart skipped a beat. "What is it?"
"There's a figure lurking around your house, just before the note was left. It's grainy, but it looks like...a woman."
Pandy's eyes widened. A woman? That was a new twist.
"Can you send me the footage?" Pandy asked.
"Already on its way," Livvy replied. "But Pandy, be careful. If this is the Holy Murderer, we don't know what she's capable of."
Pandy nodded, even though Livvy couldn't see her. "I will. Thanks, Livvy."
As she waited for the footage to arrive, Pandy couldn't help but wonder who this woman was. Was she the Holy Murderer? And what did she want with her?
