"She threatened me that if I-I don't kill… kill her sister, she will kill me." My blood boiled and my tears were flowing non stop. Uno...how could you do this? You killed Gracey when she did nothing but to love you and why did you pass the blame on...me? What did I do? I could feel the hardness in breathing. I wanted to say something but I knew it would just worsen the situation. What did I do to deserve this? "So you're saying that Lynale Mackenzie Gavin is really the mastermind of the murder of her own sister?" his lawyer asked and he nodded. I ended up covering my mouth with my hands which were handcuffed. I cried and cried as they put the blame on me. "Do you have any evidence to prove your argument?" the judge asked while listening to them. "Yes. We have footage which will let us see that she did visit Ms. Santos and Mr. Nueva." My mouth went agape as they showed the footage. It's… it's true that I visited them, together with Aunt Gian...but I didn't tell Uno to kill my twin! I went there to forgive them… how could they do this to me? "Objection your honor, we did not hear what they told each other. Those arguments shall remain accusations until proven deeply." Attorney Manalastas said, one of my mother's colleagues during college. "Permission to speak, your honor." Uno's attorney said and the judge nodded. "I believe that we could find stronger evidence to put the defendant in jail. Our side has proven our loyalty and honesty to the court as we oath to." she added. "If that's the case, why was the law of perjury signed?" my lawyer rebutted. "For someone like you." Uno's lawyer argued. The tension between them grew. Attorney Perez started glaring at Attorney Manalastas but my lawyer chose to smile sarcastically at her. The judge hit the gavel on his table to catch their attention, "Adjourned." "What?" my lawyer whispered under her breath, still trying to stand up straight. People started to leave as soon as the judge went out of the court. "What the heck is that?" my lawyer asked but I remained silent. The policemen told me to stand up and they walked on my back and side. Two men were standing on my sides and another one on the back. I saw Uno looked at me as if I really am the mastermind. That he is innocent and he was just forced by me. Wow. Where does he get that audacity? I glared at him and he smiled at me but her attorney was glaring at me to death. As I turned my head to my right side, I saw Attorney Manalastas walking with me. She is smiling widely as if she has reached victory. As soon as we reached the cell, I saw Jonah sitting on the most corner of the room, with her eyes closed. I sat beside her as the policemen left me without handcuffs. "What happened?" she queried as she noticed my presence. She opened her eyes as I remained silent. She looked at me, intently. I just shook my head a bit. "The new judge made the process even slower, right?" she said and I nodded. "She adjourned the meeting after five minutes." I whispered while playing with my hands. She just laughed sarcastically under her breath. "Life is so cruel when we think it is." she said and stood up, "I have something to give you. I didn't know she left a note. How did she manage to do that, though?" I knitted my eyebrows as I didn't know who she was talking about until I realized that she emphasized the word "her". "Here, take this." she said and gave me a notebook. I pursed my lips to stop sobbing. "She really tried to get closer to you, Makmak." I don't know what to cry about. My face was dripping wet as the tears flowed down, nonstop. Is it because of my sister in blood or is it because of my sister in heart? I really missed them so much. Surely, a piece of my heart will always be for them. As soon as I held the notebook, I caressed it. I looked at its every corner as this would be the only thing I would hold from my sister, aside from memories we had. A physical thing I should keep until my last breath. I opened it and I was amazed as my name was written on it. Lynale Mackenzie Gavin, my other half. That was the words written on it. I cried even more as I saw what was written inside. All of these were my favorites, hates, and all. From smallest things and simplest things were written and it overwhelmed me.
