Episode 14

★Zara's POV★
As I turned around, I realized that Bethel had blocked my path and I was now trapped in the middle. With attackers coming from both directions, there was no way for me to escape.
I pleaded with Bethel, asking him what was happening and begging him to let me go. However, it seemed that he and his accomplices were deaf to my cries and were only interested in taking my life.
I regretted not going to stay with my aunty when I had the chance. There were four of them, two coming from the front and two from the back. Since there was only two ways out, I had no choice but to face them.
Tears streamed down my face as I continued to beg for my life. "Please, I beg of you, just let me go," I cried.
Suddenly, I felt a movement under my feet, and water began to rise around us. The attackers were surprised by the sudden flooding of their well-built house, and they turned to look down in shock.
In that moment of distraction, Bethel tried to move forward but fell down.
He tried to steady himself by grabbing the guy standing next to him, but the force of the water drew them both down. I jumped over them, causing them to fall and giving me a chance to escape.
I took advantage of the opening on his side, which was easier to navigate than the other areas but it leads deeper inside the house but I never mind. I ran deeper into the house, hoping to find a way out through a door or window in the backyard. However, as I ran, I realized that the further I went, the more danger I was in.
Eventually, I became too tired to keep running and stopped to catch my breath. I heard their footsteps approaching, so I quickly ducked into a nearby room and hid, watching them as they passed by.
The first guy walked by without noticing me, but the second one searched the room next to mine before leaving. Finally, Bethel passed by my room. I wished I had a gun to defend myself, but I had nothing.
As he approached my door, my heart raced with fear. I held my breath and waited as he stopped in front of my door. I closed my eyes and trembled, hoping he wouldn't find me. Suddenly, I heard a sound and cautiously opened my eyes to see what was Happening.
And discovered that he got distracted with the sound from the opposite room then he faced that way and I quickly hid myself properly.
After he must have search around the room I heard his footsteps coming towards this room and just in he matched down the door immediately.
But was shocked when he didn't find me, though I was hiding under the drawer down here as I covered my mouth so that I wouldn't speak out.
You know being just too afraid can ruin everything and that's why I have to tie my mouth down so that I wouldn't scream louder.
While he scanned through the room he turned and was about to leave but I didn't know how my hand get to touch something on my right and it fell down.
And made just a slight noise as I stares at him with my eyes widely opened as he turns back stepping directed at my position.
Am looking at his leg already, it was just for him to look down and catch me but I just keep holding myself down as I saw his hand comes down.
Then I picked up the sharp object under the drawer and ready to stab his hand before I run and I was ready to stab him immediately.
And you know what my plan is? once I stab him and he began screaming and feeling the pain then I will find my way immediately before others arrive.
I was just about to stab Bethel when I saw that he was picking up a piece of paper from the ground. He put it in his pocket, indicating that it was important to him. He continued searching for me, and when he bent down to look under the drawer, I gave him a severe injury to his face.
He screamed in pain, and I quickly dashed out from under the drawer and ran out of the room. As I ran, I saw the other attackers coming after me. However, they had left a path for me to escape from the house.
I kept running, while they are chasing after me. They didn't even bother to help Bethel, and it seemed like they were competing to see who could kill me first. But I knew that my God was bigger than them, and I continued to run with all my might.
★Aunty Benita's POV★
I had left the parlor and retreated to my room, where I sat down to think about my next move. That little girl, Tina, was making things complicated for me. I was surprised that my charms weren't working on her or her brother. I needed that little boy, but there was no way I could get him while living under the same roof with Tina.
I wondered if I should focus more on putting fear in her, as that might help me achieve my goals. However, I began to question why I was allowing a little girl to stop me from accomplishing my destiny. It was frustrating, and I was tired of being oppressed by someone I could easily erase from existence with just a blink of an eye.
I decided that I have had enough. I would kill her off, and as for her mother, I would handle her later. I was done with the stress and oppression. Let's see how it goes. Let's see if she will wake up tomorrow morning!.
★Zara's POV★
I was about to ran out of the room another group of men blocked my way. I quickly ran into the nearest room and slammed the door shut, locking it and breaking the handle. I closed my eyes and leaned against the door, trying to catch my breath.
After a few seconds, I opened my eyes and realized that I had run into a dead end. "Damn it! I'm done for," I said aloud, my eyes wide with fear.
