Episode 15
★Zara's POV★
"Oh no! I'm done for!" I exclaimed, my eyes widening in terror.
I couldn't believe where I had ended up. I was standing in the very room where I was supposed to be sacrificed. The whole place was giving me goosebumps and I found myself breathing heavily as I took in the frightening sight.
The design of the room was just terrifying and everything about it was enough to make my skin crawl. Suddenly, I began to hear voices and grunts outside the door. It seemed like they were fighting over me, but I couldn't quite tell what was going on.
I felt trapped and wondered how I was going to escape. Was there even a way out of this room?
As I looked around anxiously, I noticed the wall starting to freeze. I couldn't believe my eyes. How could a well-built wall freeze like that? But before I knew it, the wall crumbled down like snow, making my escape much easier as I could now run out of the building from that side of the wall.
I quickly made my way out of the room and into the city. I could hear the men still fighting over me, but I didn't dare look back. Suddenly, a voice behind me yelled, "There she is! Get her!"
I turned around to see that it was them, still eager to catch me.
And I couldn't help but wonder why they were so desperate to catch me. Why was it always me?
As I saw them approaching, I began to move backwards, my eyes scanning the area for any possible escape route. That's when I spotted a car in front of me. I was relieved because I knew how to drive, having been the one to drive my late mother's car and even my friends' cars.
But my relief was short-lived as I discovered that they were already closing in on me. Before I could even start the car, they had leaped onto the roof, trying to stop me from escaping.
But I managed to dodge them with a sudden burst of force and quickly reversed the car. Most of them fell off helplessly, but one of them, Bethel, managed to grab onto my window.
I knew I had to get rid of him first before I could talk to him. I spotted a narrow space where I could only fit the car and drive out without anyone extracting by the side. It was a tight squeeze, but I had no choice.
I sped towards the narrow space, with the men still chasing me on foot. It was almost funny how fast they were running, like The Flash. I questioned my mind, wondering how fast they could be.
As I increased my speed, Bethel struggled to position himself well in the car's window. "I thought you were a good person, I thought you wanted to help me. I know you wanted to, but why allow darkness to take over your soul?" I asked him, hoping to reason with him.
But all he could do was laugh heavily, making me wonder if there was even a chance for him to see reason.
"You're insane! I never wanted to help you in the first place. I could have killed you a long time ago, but you didn't fall for it," Bethel said, making me stare at him in shock.
I looked back again and saw the men still chasing me on foot. It was almost comical how they were trying to catch up with me.
"Why is everyone after me?" I asked Bethel, hoping to get some answers.
"Because you were born to be miserable forever! because you hold what belongs to them!" he replied, but I didn't understand.
What could I possibly owe an entire community? Everywhere I go, people are after me.
"I owe them? What do I owe them?" I asked.
"Your life!" he responded.
"And what about you? What do I owe you?" I asked.
"Your life! You don't deserve to live," he said, making me smirk at him.
"That's after you're dead!" I retorted as I drove into a narrow road. Bethel saw it coming and leaped out of the car, diving away.
As I drove away, I looked back and saw him lying on the ground. His fellow pursuers stopped to check on him, probably too tired to continue chasing me.
But then, I felt something leave me, and I became afraid. I knew I wasn't the one who did those things back there. I didn't even have the heart to do such things.
All I could do was scream with the loudest voice. How did it happen?
I needed to find somewhere safe to sleep for the night. Should I go to my Auntie's home? No, that wouldn't be a good idea. Maybe I should sleep in the car, but only after I find a secure place to park for the night.
As I was driving, another car hit me with such force that I screamed at the top of my lungs. My car flipped over, and I landed upside down, with my head hitting the front glass window.
To my surprise, I had no injuries except for a sharp pain in my right leg. I quickly got out of the car and started running as fast as I could, with the men chasing me on their bikes and cars.
A car stopped in front of me, and the driver yelled, "Come in! Get in!" I was about to jump in when the car behind me was about to hit me. I leaped so high that it hit the car in front of me, and I landed on top of them, putting my leg on top of the cars.
The man who claimed he wanted to help me pulled out a gun and aimed it at me. I quickly got out of the car, and they started shooting at me. As I ran, I saw a bike coming towards me at high speed. I jumped over it, and the ground started freezing from my foot, moving towards the bike.
The bike rider couldn't control it anymore, and he fell off. He was getting too close to me, so I dragged him off the bike and flung him away. I picked up the bike, and as the others arrived, I started it and went after them.
It was a long and tough battle, and I was winning, but their numbers kept increasing. I knew it was time to run. So, I kicked off the bike and started running as they chased me, shooting at me.
As I was figuring out how to get rid of the man who claimed to be the toughest among them, he hit my car, causing me to rotate in the air and land on the ground, scraping my leg against the iron of the bike.
I screamed in pain and anger as I got up and rushed towards him. I pushed him into the sea as we were on top of a bridge. Before he could land in the water, a shark took him from the air.
As I looked at the people coming towards me, I felt something leave my body again, and I became afraid. I don't even know how I got to thus place and what I was doing here.
I felt a running nose and wiped it with my right hand, only to see blood. I shed tears, knowing that those guys were coming for me, and I couldn't run because I was badly injured.
Then I knew that it is time to die if not why am I always saved by water? Freeze and snow? They are simply calling me to return home and they even brought me here so it is time to say goodbye to the world.
"I just need to end this miserable life," I muttered to myself. As they got closer, I jumped into the sea, tears streaming down my face.
