Episode 5

★Tina's POV★
As I watched Zara walk home alone in the middle of the night, I couldn't help but feel a deep sense of sadness. I understand that life can be challenging, and it's natural for her to be angry with anyone, but I couldn't help feeling sorry for her.
I wondered why she was trying to blame me for everything. Didn't I do my best? All I could do was argue with my mother, and that's all, I can't fight her. But even if I fought with her, it wouldn't change her attitude, so it probably wasn't the best option.
I kept asking myself, "Why is my mother like this?" as I got into my car and headed home to see her.
When I arrived home, I opened the door forcefully and slammed it shut, making a loud noise.
"What's wrong with you, Tina? And when did you leave the house?" My mother screamed at me, and my eyes filled with tears.
"Why are you doing this to your sister and her daughter?! Why are you like this?" I yelled back at my mother.
"How dare you raise your voice at me? Are you mad?! Are you insane? How dare you shout at me?!" She responded with an angry voice, standing up from the couch and stepping closer to me.
Meanwhile, Aunty Benita sat there and did nothing
As my mother stepped closer to me, I kept watching her, and tears rolled down my cheeks. That's one thing I liked about her – she cared about me as her child. But that didn't mean she should treat other people's children negatively.
When she saw the tears in my eyes, she realized that something serious must have happened, and she calmed down.
"I don't understand. Why are you crying? Where did you go? Did someone hurt you?" She asked, placing her hands on my cheeks.
"I am being hurt badly," I responded with a shaky voice, tears continuing to stream down my face.
"Who hurt you? Who is that silly person? Don't they know you have me? Was it that stupid Zara? Or someone else? Who dares to hurt my princess?" She asked, wiping away my tears and holding my head close to her heart.
"Please talk to me. Who hurt you?" She pleaded, studying my face once again. I took a deep breath and burst into another wave of tears.
"Mother, it's you. It was you, and it's going to be you," I said, and she stared at me in surprise, knowing that she hadn't done anything wrong to me today.
She had previously made a well-prepared meal for me that included egg noodles, chicken, it is delicious meal so she is shocked that I said this.
"When did I hurt you? Was the food I gave you not enough, or..." She trailed off, removing her hand from my shoulder and folding her arms.
"Please don't tell me this is all because of that thing called Zara and her mother?" She asked, and I nodded my head while tears continued to fall.
"Her mother is dead!!! Probably because you pushed her away!!, Mum, you killed her mother!" I cried out, and she looked at me with emotion in her eyes.
I thought my words had touched her heart as she looked down, appearing pained. But I was shocked when she suddenly burst out laughing.
"Is that all? That's the only reason why you're upset? Tell me..." She said, and I was left looking at her in surprise. To be honest, I didn't know my mother could be so heartless.
"Mother, wasn't that enough to make me cry? Are you trying to say that you don't feel any sympathy for poor Zara?"
"Why....!" She was still saying but I interrupted her with a heavy voice.
"Why, Mother?! Do you even realize what we're talking about? You just made someone an orphan!" I responded, looking incredibly angry.
It was raining, and it was cold, but I felt a heat rising within me. I couldn't believe what I was witnessing.
"Yeah! Why?!! Why should I regret it? You mean I should regret taking away a miserable life?" My mother said, and I interrupted her. "A miserable life?!!!"
"Yes, a miserable life! Zara should be grateful to me for taking away her frustration. Are you telling me that you didn't notice that woman was frustrating her?"
"At least now she can live without stress. Her mother was living a worthless life. She didn't deserve to live. If I were to be a mother, I would probably..." My mother continued, but I interrupted her again.
"Say it! Mother, I dare you to say it!" I yelled at her.
"Why the hell would you want me to say it? I love you and David, and I wouldn't want to miss either of you or let you suffer," She replied, trying to touch my cheeks, but I pushed her hand away.
"You see... Your mind wasn't telling you that you just took away someone's happiness, just like David and I are to you..."
"You know what? I think it's better for me to suffer than to watch you hurt other people just because of us! You don't even deserve to be called my mother!" I yelled at her with boldness.
I knew I was crossing my limits, but I was so annoyed at that moment, and she understood that.
"Mother, what if Zara is to help you in the future, and with all these things you are..." I was saying when they interrupted me.
When I said they interrupted me, I meant Aunty Benita and my mother said at the same time, "The Queen of the Coast needs no help from anyone, no matter the condition."
I was confused because I didn't understand what they meant. "I don't get it," I asked.
"Perhaps you won't for now," My mother said, walking around me and ending up standing in front of me.
"Trust me, you'll know at the right time. You'll learn about the person you call your mother, a very powerful woman. No one dares cross her path," She said, and I was left feeling confused.
I didn't understand. Did this mean that she had already planned to kill Zara's mother? That's probably what she meant.
"Mother, I disown you! You're truly evil!" I said in tears, walking away towards my room. Aunty Benita tried to say something, but I interrupted her. "Shut your trap!" I referred to her, and both my mother and Aunty Benita looked at me in surprise. They never expected those words from me.
"Excuse me?!" My mother said, interrupting me.
"Go to your home! You don't belong here! Stop deceiving my mother into evil. I'm sure you started this, evil woman!" I said to her as I ran into my room, slammed the door, and locked it.
Once I was in my room, I couldn't sleep or find peace of mind. I just kept rolling around the bed, thinking of Zara. Wondering how she must be feeling, how she would live in that empty house with her mother's corpse. Wondering if she would be able to overcome the death of her mother, though I knew she was a strong lady and would eventually overcome it.
I made up my mind to visit Zara once the day broke, so I didn't sleep throughout the night. I finally fell asleep at 4:00 am.
When I woke up, I saw that the day had already broken, although I thought it would be around 6 or 7 am. I stretched myself, picked up my phone, and checked the time. It was already 8 am, so I quickly got dressed and entered my car.
My mother had already left for work, and I was sure that Aunt Benita wouldn't dare ask me where I was going, so I left the house freely with my car heading to Zara's house.
As I approached their house, I decided to walk the rest of the way. I parked my car at the corner and walked towards Zara's house. When I got closer, I saw Zara burying her mother in the grave she had dug all by herself.
Tears streamed down my face. Zara was so dirty, and I could tell that she had been digging the grave since the night before. She was covering the grave with sand when I arrived and that means she is burying her mum.
As I approached, my heart was filled with tears, and after covering the grave, Zara fell on top of it. I could hear her crying bitterly, rubbing herself on the sand. Tears streamed down my face.
I stopped coming closer because I knew she was very angry at the moment. I didn't know whether to console her or go back home and return when she will be calm. Or should I talk to her now? I was unsure of what to do.
