Episode 7
★TINA'S POV★
I was concerned about my little brother and wondered what was happening with him. Perhaps Aunty Benita wasn't at home, so I quickly went in to pick up my brother. But you won't believe what I saw! I knew Aunty Benita was up to no good.
As soon as I entered the living room, I noticed how frightened she was. I had no idea what she was doing to my little brother. All I could see was that she had put little David on top of the couch and was doing some strange things that I couldn't comprehend.
"Hey, you're back!" she said with a fake smile, and then quickly picked up David and started to pet him.
I stared at her, trying to figure out what was going on. I had a feeling that this Aunty had some strange motives for being here.
"Yeah..." I said as I stepped closer to her. "I'm back!" I said, and took my brother from her when I approached.
Although David was crying bitterly, as soon as I took him from her, he stopped crying after a few seconds.
Then I noticed that his body was very hot, so I looked up at Aunty Benita. "What the hell did you do to my brother?!" I yelled at her, concerned about David's health.
"I don't know. As soon as you left, he started crying. He's been crying for a while now, and I was trying to calm him down, but I guess he didn't stop because he doesn't know me," she said with an uncaring attitude as she sat back on the sofa.
As I continued to stare at her, I couldn't believe that she was trying to deceive me with such a lie. Was I a kid that she could fool so easily?
"What...?" she asked with a deep voice, while I shook my head, still in disbelief. It was surprising to think that the same person who had been colliding with my mum against another person was now trying to hurt her. This world is so unpredictable.
"Seriously...? You can't tell me that he's just crying and that's why his body is so hot like this?" I asked, as I looked at David, who was already feeling the heat. I could feel the heat radiating from his body too.
"He's sick. Just take him inside and give him some medicine. He'll be fine," Aunty Benita said nonchalantly, and I reacted angrily. "And you left him crying like that? I don't even know what you were doing to him on top of the sofa!"
"Forget it. I'm going to tell my mum about this!" I yelled at her, as I stormed out of the living room and went to my room.
★BENITA'S POV★
I think this girl is trying to mess with me. She's crossing her boundaries, and I think I'm going to have to deal with her. Once I'm done, even her own mother will hate her.
But perhaps I should focus on why I'm here in the first place. I shouldn't be wasting my time on her.
Well, it's time for me to meet Kate at work. I quickly took a shower, got dressed, and picked up the car key that Tina had left on the couch. I planned to use her car to get to her mother's office.
But as soon as I opened the car door, I heard her voice. "Hey! Wait right there! And where do you think you're going with my car?!" she shouted at me. I was still looking at her in surprise when she came over and snatched the key from my hand.
"You have your own feet. Please make use of them. My car is not for borrowing. Thank you!" she said, and then went back into the house.
I think this girl called Tina is really pushing me so hard, I bet she wouldn't want her life to be as miserable just like Zara's and soon to be her turn too.
Well I just ignored that and make use of my feet which I will probably enter taxi on the way.
★Zara's POV★
So this incident of sudden flood around my home is already making me restless.
I mean how is this possible? how are they able to plant such in my home, well I don't mind as I have been cleaning the flood over an hour now.
And I think I'm done now, everywhere was neat again let me see how possible it would be to happen again, I'm yet to believe the one I have seen but I will fully believe if it happens again.
So after cleaning I need to give the house some space so that it will dry up, so I went to seat on jangolova which was stamped just at the side of my compound.
I sat there and continue troubling my brain to see where I stopped in life and where I would be able to pick up again.
At first my school is the first option, I dropped out of school because of my mother's illness. did I said dropped? of course no.
I stopped school because of my mother's situation, taking care of her and all the stuff needed which I have to work for, but now I am free so I think I need to go back to school that's very important.
What else do I have to amend? absolutely nothing, all I have to do is to find a work I would go everyday at the evening after school that will be benefiting.
I think going back to school and being able to see my friends again makes sense. Positive thoughts ran through my head, and I smiled until my eyes met my mum's grave again.
It ruined everything, and I began doubting myself. Negative thoughts filled my head, and I started thinking that I couldn't do anything without her. She was my backbone when she was alive. All I had to do was bathe and go to school every day. She don't even wait for me to ask for money.
Now, how would I be able to do all of this alone? Well, I should stop doubting myself.
The first cause of all this doubt is idleness. I should go out there and stroll around a little before coming back to relax on the bed.
★AT NIGHT★
I was home alone, watching movies, trying to forget all my sorrows. Although the stroll was nice, I really enjoyed the blissful air outside.
That Bethel guy is amazing, but I need to put those thoughts aside for now.
While I continued watching my movie, my mum's phone rang. I knew it must be for another trouble when I saw that it was Aunty Kate calling. I ignored the call several times, but she kept calling and disturbing me. Then, I decided to pick up, and she asked me to come over. She sounded like it was all sudden.
I didn't want to go, but I made up my mind to do so. Maybe she realized her mistake and wants to apologize. Although her apology won't be accepted, I should just go and let her know that I am fine without them.
So, I put on something new and walked to her house. When I arrived, I knocked on the door, and she opened it.
"Here she comes! The daughter of Jezebel!" Aunt Kate yelled at me as she forcefully dragged me inside. I was surprised and trying to figure out what was going on.
"Tell me, what have you done to my son that he keeps getting sick every day? What the hell have you done to him?" she continued yelling at me, but I was still confused as I stared at the other lady.
"Sorry, I don't understand..." I started to say when she attempted to slap me. But this time, I grabbed her hand. "Are you insane? Are you out of your mind? Enough of all this, please!" I said firmly.
"I didn't even come to your house today, so how on earth am I responsible for David being sick? Do not lay your hands on me again!" I yelled at her, and she became a bit scared and stared at me.
"Are you actually referring to me?" she asked in a lower voice. "Of course! To hell with you! I'm doing fine without you! And mind you!" I said as I took a deep breath.
"You will pay for my mother's death! You will pay, I assure you that!" I added as I angrily left the house.
As I stepped out of the house, I met Tina arriving with her car. Although I didn't pay much attention to her, I kept walking home.
They had killed my mother and thought it was the perfect time to frustrate me. But I was determined to frustrate them instead.
Tina stared at me and hurriedly entered their house, while I continued to walk home, feeling very angry.
★Tina's Point of View★
I entered the house to find out what my mother had done to Zara this time.
"Mother! What did you do to her again?" I asked, surprised.
"You should ask what she has done again. I don't know what that stupid girl has done to David that he keeps getting sick all the time," my mother responded. I realized I had made a huge mistake by not telling her who was responsible before I left.
I knew my mother would react this way because she believed that Zara was the cause of all her problems.
"And who told you that Zara is responsible?" I reacted, staring at Aunty Benita, who was looking at me menacingly.
"Then who else could it be if not her?!" My mother yelled at me.
"It..." I tried to speak but started coughing. Suddenly, I felt something heavy on my throat, and I began to cough heavily until I fell to the ground.
"Tina! Are you alright?! Tina!" My mother called out, looking scared. "Please get her a glass of water." She sent that same witch to get me some water! and I am already coughing out blood.
"What!!! Tina!!" my mum screamed very loud and in fearDownload Novelah App
