Episode 8

★Zara's POV★
I kept imagining what happened earlier while I was walking home.
Can you imagine that I was so stupid that I went to that house of hell again?
I don't believe that it was actually me after vowing never to step my feet in that house again, seriously I'm equally mad at myself.
Am I'm in deep anger right now, I just can't imagine that they called me just to lay a complaint of his son being sick and even accusing me of being responsible? and the worst of it all she did that ignoring the fact that she killed my mother.
Could you imagine that? how can human being be this heartless? she doesn't even feel pity in any way!
But I put all the blame on my head, I was just so dumb and stupid! if I was wise, I couldn't have answered their call in the first place.
While I keep waking home, so many annoying things were popping on my head then a car moves along side me and stopped.
Just like an angry person, I ignored the car and continued walking home while battling with my thoughts. Suddenly, a guy jumped out of the car and chased after me. "Hey, it's me, Bethel!" he said, but I paid him no attention.
He attempted to touch me, and I snapped, "Don't you dare lay your hands on me!" My outburst surprised him, and he gasped in shock.
"Sorry... but are you okay?" Bethel asked, genuinely concerned.
"I'm fine! Just find your way home and leave me alone!" I yelled at him, my voice booming.
He stopped following me and just stared as I walked away. "I'm so sorry," he tried to say something.
"I don't care!" I cut him off, my frustration still simmering.
He watched me as I walked away, and as I was about to disappear from his sight, he got into his car and drove off.
★Aunty Kate's POV★
I couldn't help but wonder what was wrong with my daughter as she struggled to speak. "Tina, are you okay?" I asked, hoping for a response. Although she couldn't speak freely, I felt a sense of relief as the doctor who came to check on her assured me that she would be okay.
As I arranged Tina, I picked up my baby who had been lying beside her. These kids were my everything, and I was determined to protect them at all costs. I held David while keeping a close eye on Tina to make sure she was okay.
Suddenly, Benita barged into the room without knocking, and I couldn't help but feel disrespected. "Hey, is she okay now?" she asked, to which I responded with a stern expression. "Come on, Benita, you should respect everyone's privacy!" I scolded her.
"At least try to knock next time before entering," I added as she looked apologetic. "Oh, pardon me, my mind wasn't there... You know I was just so desperate to find out how she's doing," she explained while flapping her shoulders.
"I hope she's getting better now?" Benita asked, and I nodded in response.
"I'm not entirely sure, but I think she's doing better than before," I replied as Benita approached Tina and touched her.
She looked up at me, and before she could say anything, I asked, "Is she okay? Is there anything the Queen can do for her?" She licked her lips silently before responding.
"Well, I think she's getting better, and she should be okay by tomorrow morning. In that case, there's nothing the Queen needs to do because she's already fine."
"As you know, the Queen doesn't like to be bothered unnecessarily. Only serious matters," she added, and I smiled.
Benita was definitely the goddess she claimed to be. Since I started listening to her, she had never failed me. She had provided the best protection for me and my family, and my business had improved tremendously, all thanks to her. I lowered my head in gratitude. "Thank you, The Queen of the Coast. Long may you reign," I said as she smirked.
"There's no need to thank me when you're being humble to your goddess. So..." she trailed off and started touching my baby David.
"And how is baby David feeling now?" Benita asked.
"He's also getting better, but I don't think there was anything seriously wrong with him," I replied. "However, that doesn't stop me from giving him the necessary medication that he requires. Maybe you can help me carry him?" I handed over my baby to her.
She carried him happily, trying to play with him, but I couldn't help but notice that David never smiled in her presence. As I was leaving the room, Benita interrupted me.
"Hey, where are you going? Are you not going to join me in looking after them?" she asked with a chuckle.
"No, am not leaving, I'm just leaving to get David's medicine. It's probably time for him to take his second dose," I replied as she nodded in agreement.
"Okay then, you have nothing to worry about. I'll be here looking after him and Tina," she assured me.
"Okay, just give me a few minutes. I'll be back," I responded as I left the room feeling relieved.
★Aunt Benita's POV★
As soon as Aunty Kate left, I put David aside before he starts to cry again. There was something about this little baby that felt dark to me. I don't think he was the person I believed him to be.
Queen of the Coast? No, absolutely not. The Queen of the Coast is a lady. So who could it be? Tina? I didn't see Tina displaying any strange powers. She seemed like an ordinary human being.
However, David displayed a lot of powers, and I was surprised that I had been unable to take his power despite two long attempts. I didn't want his mother to know about this.
I just wanted to make her believe in my lies until I got what I wanted. I wasn't even the Queen of the Coast. I was just looking for that power, and I had heard that it was manifesting in this family.
The powers were supposed to manifest in a girl, not a boy like David. This was really confusing, just like the prophecy said. I began to suspect that Tina was the one who possessed the power of the coast. However, if I made any attempt on her and she wasn't the one, she will never survive it.
And if I made any attempt on Tina, the charm I used on her mother could be broken. She loved her children deeply, and I could see it in her eyes. She was probably the best mother.
However, I didn't want to be mistaken. I had not turned her against her sister. She had harbored that hatred for her sister long before I arrived. I was only there to get what I wanted.
It was time to let Tina know her position, or else she would not live to tell the story. What happened to her earlier is just a minor one if she dares try to expose me again.
I stepped closer to her and held her throat for a few seconds casting a spell on her. I felt her heart beating softly and slowly, and she opened her eyes, staring around in confusion. She probably didn't know what had happened.
"Now listen to me!" I said as she stared at me. "If you don't keep your mouth shut, you won't live to tell!" I yelled at her, quickly putting her back in sleeping position and arranging her the way she was before her mother left.
That was a smart move. When she woke up the next morning, she would remember what I said, and maybe then I would see if she would still try to talk or keep her mouth shut.
I feel like the message wasn't enough so I decided to grab her throat again.
I was still standing there, gazing at her when her mother barged into the room!
