Chapter 35

The treatment went well. I think. Though my life is still in a dangerous state but I know I can fight this. Especially now that Dawn is here with me. I told him the reason why and he even felt sorry when I told him that. Though, he has nothing to be sorry about because, in the first place, it was my choice to hide it.
I know he will get married anytime. It's his parent's decision and he was known as a very kind and obedient son.
"Hi! your boyfriend?"
I smiled at my tutor who just arrived. She watched Dawn going out of the library. He bid his bye a while ago as he needs to go to work. "Hmm, yeah. He just got here to visit me. And by the way, I'm done with my homework." I handed her my paperwork.
"Woah, really? A lot of women have been drooling over him! You must be so lucky, you're his girlfriend! Well, I'm sure he is not the player type?`` She talked while checking my paperwork.
I've been friends with her, I think. Of course, it's boring here so I just decided to befriend my tutor. I think there's nothing wrong with that.
"He's very serious. I think he doesn't even have any humor within him. At first, I find it boring but now, it's fun!" I chuckled.
"Oh? As expected. I've seen it like that in movies. That the businessmen are really serious types and also private. That's good for them though, to protect their image."
I just nodded at her opinion. She's right. I know that Dawn was such a private type of a man because that's his way to protect his image as well as the image of their Corporations.
"Anyway, this is the last lesson for this year. If you still want to be homeschooled for the next school year, then just contact me, okay?" her eyes were glowing while looking at me. She must be having fun teaching me.
"Alright. Looking forward to that. I'm pretty sure that I will still be bedridden for the next few years. My Dad wants it for me. So I do expect that I will still be homeschooled as well." I said. I sighed in despair secretly. I am not going to go to the Suneast anymore. I miss that school somehow. That completed my teenage days.
Dad already knows that I'm dating Dawn Hadley. At first, he couldn't believe everything. He can't believe that all this time, I have a boyfriend without him knowing. Of course, skip the escaping part. He might think that I'm starting to become a rebel because of him.
Dad was the happiest man on Earth when he saw Dawn entering our luxurious mansion. He was here to visit me and to take care of me. It was his day-off when he spent his whole day with me. Actually, with me and Dyxxie.
Sometimes, if it's not yet late at night, he always visits me for his goodnight kiss. That is what he wants from me. A goodnight kiss and also a good morning kiss. Such a clingy.
The next few days, I groaned when the sun rays kissed my face. That was hella painful and hot! I yawned and gasped at the table side to find my cellphone when I felt something.
A kiss from my forehead woke up my whole system. My world stopped when I realized what it is.
"Good morning..."
I bit my cheeks to stop myself from suppressing a smile.
"What are you doing here? This early, huh? I can't believe you!" I yelled in a whisper. I rolled my eyes when I heard him chuckling.
"Where's my morning kiss? You were cuddling me the whole time I got here. I deserve a morning kiss."
There he goes again. He is getting clingy over and over again. I faced him. "Go, get my Dad's permission." That was a joke but his face transformed into a serious one.
However, a few seconds had passed, and he chuckled again. "He loves seeing you with me, for you know. I'm maybe the best boyfriend huh," he said and pulled me to his chest. Now, I'm hugging him again. Trying to not close my face on his because I still didn't brush my teeth.
"Overconfident. You're unbelievable." I teased but he just hugged me tightly and closed his eyes.
"Shh, I'm taking a rest."
He then ran his fingers down to my hair strands while I buried my face on his neck. He busied himself doing that and dropped a soft kiss on my forehead.
I don't know what time it is now but I just want to be like this for the whole day. Might as well forever. I miss doing this with him. Now that our world is finally at peace, I shouldn't have anything to worry about.
"You still didn't give me my morning kiss." He hissed out of the blue.
"You're kissing my forehead for so many times now, though. That's my morning kiss."
"That was a morning kiss for you, now you should give me mine!" He hissed like a baby who wants candy.
"If I will give you, then that maybe means, you'll leave after?"
"It's weekend, Helly. I can stay here the whole weekend if you want."
My world lightened up. A smile was automatically plastered on my face. Of course! I want him to stay here with me!
"Really?" I asked in awe. I can sense that my eyes are glowing with happiness. I want to scream, I will be with him for the whole weekend.
He nodded and closed his eyes again and now, to take a nap. I realize that he is still in his suit and maybe, from his office, he drove directly from there to here. He must've been tired. While he was sleeping, I used that moment to stand up and take a bath. I just left him in my room as I feel like I'm hungry.
"Good morning, Dad!" I kissed his cheeks and pulled a chair for breakfast.
The door of my room was half-open. I can see from here a half of Dawn's image lying at the bed in a weird position.
"You should wake him up for breakfast, Helly. He came here last night, almost late!" It was Dad who followed my sight where it darted.
My eyes widened a bit. "He came here late?"
"Uh-uh, he said he had overtime and very hectic time in the past days. He was sorry though, for being late but that was just completely fine for me. So, I told him to just sleep in his room instead. I forgot to clean our guest room."
I chuckled. "It's weird for my boyfriend to sleep in my guest room, Dad. There might be a ghost there." I joked.
"You're now twenty years old and yet you still believe in those kinds of creatures? Funny Helly."
"That was just a joke but—yeah, I somewhat find that room creepy. This is just my belief, Dad. I don't think someone like Dawn is scared of those creatures. He is a grown man!"
Dad nodded at what I exclaimed. As if agreeing on everything that I've said. I admit, now that Dawn was finally with me freely, I became more okay.
It's not that being with Dad and my best of friends was not enough for me to be strong. Of course, I need him also.
"But seriously Helly, I'm happy seeing you in a healthy relationship with someone who's matured enough. I know you can find someone serious in the future and I'm happy that I wasn't wrong."
My heartfelt was overwhelmed by what Daddy said. Yeah, so do I. I didn't expect that I would date someone who's a serious type. Before, I used to think that my love story in the future will be with someone who's clingy and a loud type.
"I remember your Mom and her best friend from high school. Actually, while we were together, I helped her to find a genuine friend. Thankfully, she found one. They've been close to each other since then to the point that they're treating each other as sisters."
Dad's voice that's like feeling nostalgic while reminiscing the past filled the whole dining room. I got interested in the topic. That's why I made sure that I won't miss any word of everything that he is going to say.
Mommy probably got a nice and genuine friend. Based on what Dad's saying, they treat each other as sisters. Just like me and my best friends, I think.
"So, you've been friends with Mom's friend too? You said you helped her to find one." I voiced my curiosity.
"Uh-uh, well, I and Brice were just casual. But I'm aware of what's happening in their friendship. Natasha is always opening it up to me."
"Do you still know her now? Do you know where she is?" I asked in desperation to know who's that nice friend of my Mom before.
He stopped for a moment and let out a heavy sigh. His expression immediately changed. "I still know her, Helly. Actually, I met her countless times with her husband, and just like before, we were casual. When Natasha knew that her friend is pregnant and will be getting married, she was so happy while hugging Brice."
My brows furrowed. "Brice? How come I didn't know her?"
"You know her, Helly. Actually, they have a lot of promise for each other—for their future. I can still remember it."
He smiled while reminiscing their memories.
I got a bit surprised. Well, I have a promise with my best friends too but I don't know if we have plans on accomplishing those.
"Promise?" I asked out of curiosity.
"Uh, yeah. You know, when we knew that your Mom was pregnant, she and her friend made a promise to each other. Like, they want the kids to marry each other in the future. They didn't forget that until you, and the boy you were planning to marry, grew up. Natasha held that promise and I think, until her last breath, she wants you to marry that man."
My mouth was half-opened. I am being arranged with someone? Dad knows whoever he is probably.
I was stunned for a moment. All this time, I thought Dad didn't arrange marriage —Oh! that was Mom's.
"I was happy that you two were together. You were with your boyfriend all this time, without you knowing."
I was stunned again and this time, I could feel my heartbeat. I immediately had a clue on whatever it is.
"Mom's been friends with Bricianna Hadley?" I asked while my mind was floating trying to figure things out.
My world stopped when I saw him nodding. All this time I was being arranged with Dawn? Heck.
