Chapter 40: The Final Warmth

Dawn Xnydyxx Hadley POV
"I don't have time for that, Dad."
I sighed. I'm tired of almost everything now. I just want to spend my whole free time laying in bed but I can't do that.
I placed my things on the couch and collapsed myself there. Daddy's been watching me for the whole time.
"What? You're in legal age now, Dawn. At your age, I already got married to your Mom. So you should get a girlfriend now."
I don't care about that. He said he wants me to get a girlfriend as if he is not planning to fix me for a marriage soon. I don't really care about that kind of relationship. Since I got into college, since birth, I didn't have any girlfriends.
Well, I admit that I once got a crush on someone but that was a long time ago. I got turned off when I knew when I saw her got pregnant at the age of fifteen. I don't really agree with teenage pregnancy.
"I will get married, Dad. But not now. I'm busy with HL." I was pertaining about our business. I am the heir of that company so I also have my responsibilities there.
"Oh right, you will get married but you don't have to wait for it all the time! You should do something about it. Son, I'm telling you, it's better for you to court someone now. You will get an old single."
I secretly rolled my eyes in annoyance. I actually couldn't imagine who my girlfriend would be in the near future. I don't have any crush on anyone.
"I'm not threatened, Dad." I grinned.
"I'm not threatening you! I'm just telling the truth! The real thing that would happen to you if you won't date a woman!"
I smirked secretly. I know that they have plans on fixing a marriage for me. I actually know who she is. The one that I have to marry. The first time I saw her was on her 18th birthday. I expected her to interact with me since we're bound to marry but I was wrong. She just snubbed me.
"Ethann, sorry but I don't like you—I mean, I don't have feelings for you."
I heard her. What the hell? Her parents let her be courted? But she's mine already! We will get married soon once she's done with her studies. That's what I heard from Daddy.
"Please Helly, I'm confident that you will love me too in the near future. I'll wait for you no matter how long it takes."
I almost cringed at what that boy named Ethann said. Confident huh. The girl seemed annoyed already. I want to drag her away from that boy but I might creep her out. I knew it, she doesn't know me.
The girl who has pale skin, but that skin really suits her. Her long and wavy jet black hair, almond eyes, and her lips, I'm sure they are soft. The first time my eyes darted on her, I knew I was giving her compliments in my mind.
I secretly smiled when I couldn't get my mind off of her. I always remember her annoyed face, that boy must be dumb enough if he didn't realize her expression. I pity him.
I know since then, I will marry Helleon Eummer Addingston. Thanks to Dad, he was the one who introduced me to that awesome girl. He said, my mother and Helly's mother once became close friends. They promised to each other that I and Helly will get married soon. Sadly, Miss Natasha died in a car accident.
I know almost everything about her. As Mr. Timothy Hadley was one of the best doctors in town. We're casual. I respect that man so much. The fact that he didn't date any woman after Natasha's death. I can't help but to compare them with my Mom.
I was twelve years old back then when I witnessed how my Dad became so furious.
"Why and how?! Do you even think about what will happen to your son? This will be hard for him, Bricianna! How dare you!"
That was my first heartbreak. When I saw the eyes of my own father, his eyes were watering in pain. I am no longer innocent at that time so I knew what really happened.
"I'm s-sorry Zix, I didn't expect that I will get pregnant—"
"That was supposed to be expected! You had one nightstand with whoever that man is, then it is already expected that you will get pregnant! F'ck it, Brice! I get it, you don't love me in the first place but at least, respect me as your husband."
My mouth half-opened when I saw him kneeled in front of my mother. As if he was pleading for his mother's respect. Since that day, my relationship with my own mother hasn't been smooth anymore. Yes, I accepted the child and treated her as my own sister but that's just because I respect her.
Eriesyl's innocent for everything that happened. She's not at fault, that's why even though it hurts me so bad every time I see her, I didn't complain. She's still my sister after all.
"Why don't you file a divorce, Dad?"
He stopped reading whatever was in the newspaper. He then looked at me with emotionless eyes.
"If only I could. But Dawn, it's not easy to leave your Mom. I accepted her over and over again because that is how I love her. Even though it means that I am fooling myself for a cheater woman. It's hard for me to label her one. Dawn, I want you to become a grown man in the future. Don't you ever cheat with your girl? It's painful."
I marked his words. I know what's the feeling of being cheated already, at a young age, I knew that my mother was cheating.
That's why, when I started to court Helly, I was taken back to my Dad's words.
Don't you ever cheat with your girl? It's painful.
I caressed her hair gently. She's peacefully sleeping in my arms now. My precious woman is sleeping beside me.
I got attracted to you years ago, baby you were so precious in my eyes. And now, I think I'm already falling. For the first time in my life, I fell in love with a bratty girl.
People've been expecting me to date a businesswoman too. Or models and girls who join pageants. However, I can't see myself falling for those kinds of women. I see myself falling for the one who makes my heart beat so fast again.
"Just get in the car, Helly."
I clenched my jaws. She's indeed a brat that I would like to tame.
"Still, you shouldn't take revenge on her. It was all an accident. Helly, can't you get that? Accident. Meaning, she didn't intend to do it.”
That's what I want to clear for her. She thinks that the one who should be blamed is only that girl. She was wrong on that part.
I saw her cross her arms and her eyebrows raised. She looks like a terror professor. I already knew what she would look like once she became a lecturer.
“Oh? I was the one who victimized her. For you know, she just threw her pasta at me and everyone in the cafeteria saw it. Dawn, I was embarrassed!” She probably yelled in annoyance.
I sighed heavily. She really didn't get my point, huh.
“I know you're embarrassed that's why that girl said sorry to you, right?”
“I don't care.” she rolled her eyes.
Hmm, as if I was threatened by your attitude, baby I know how to tame you now. I already know how you handle your attitude so that 'rolling eyeballs' of yours is just a piece of a cake for me.
The reason why I scolded her, it's not because I want to blame her for what happened. I just want her to know that revenge isn't helping. It will just make things more complicated. I don't want her to commit revenge.
So, as long as I still can handle her, I am willing to educate her even though that means she will get pissed at me.
I wanted to stay with her but the culprits didn't agree. I was craving and thirsty for her justice. Until she got buried, I stayed on her grave. I still couldn't figure out that the woman who once made me fall in love just left me. What I can't accept it, she didn't die because of leukemia. It was because of a bullet.
Dymieyle was doing vengeance. I know what her reason is. That was obvious.
She shot my woman's head. Thankfully, after five years, the policemen finally arrested her. I smiled while staring at the sky above. I know she no longer can't hear my heart but I want her to know that I'm finally content now. Helly, you finally received your justice.
If the next life really exists, I want to love you again there. I will wait for you and I want to remember you. I will protect you in our next life. We will be happy, spending our time with our own family.
I love you Helly. Until our next warm hugs. Thank you for giving light to my world. On my cold days, you held me up by giving your kisses to me. Our memories will remain forever.

'Third Person POV'
"Wow, it's been ages! You have grown up well!"
Timothy Addingston immediately suppressed a smile towards a person in front of him. Indeed, it has been years since they last saw each other.
"How are you, sir?" the man asked with full of respect and politeness.
"Hmm, I'm good," he answered.
Well actually, it is visible. A memory popped upon his mind. The memory of his daughter. Just like what she wants, Timothy continued his life as it was his daughter's one of his wishes.
"That's good to hear, sir. Uh, I'm sorry if I can't stay any longer. Shannie's waiting for me at the parking lot."
He just nodded when he realized something. He is married now, well he is actually genuinely happy for that man. Being married is a good thing for him.
"Alright, see you around."
He followed his gaze on where the man headed. Until he stepped on the elevator.
The man was lean and expressionless. He had large muscles and his body was lean. After years, he got taller and taller. His dark eyes and well-defined jaws made the girls who are also inside the elevator with him almost drool.
"Babe!"
He smiled when he saw her. She's leaning on their black mustang.
"Sorry, did I make you wait so long?"
"No, I just got bored here. So, let's go? I'm tired of standing here." she rolled her eyes and he chuckled because of it.
"How's my baby?"
He was pertaining to the child that his wife's been carrying for five months. Her wife didn't answer and just let him drop a gentle kiss on its the big tummy.
In her wife's mind, she is actually almost teary. She thinks that she is the luckiest woman now. And she knows, her best friend is happy for them now. She married its boyfriend after her death. It's not because she betrayed her best friend. She can't do that.
Shannie married her baby boo's boyfriend after her death. Shannie is now carrying their son. She's indeed lucky when Dawn Hadley married her after four years. And now, they are living happily and peacefully—No, not totally.
On the other side, while Shannie and Dawn were busy caressing their child, someone's watching them from afar. Without them knowing.
She smirked while watching them in the parking lot. This feeling is nostalgic for her. Indeed, history repeats itself.
"Say goodbye now, idiots."
Dymieyle muttered and pointed her gun directly at them.
