Chapter 60 New Suspect

All of Dong-sun’s hair stood up when Youngsoo asked what he’s been afraid of hearing. Dong-sun coughed in the middle of drinking the coffee. Mee Yoon clenched her fists in her lap as tension crept in her.
“Why are you so surprised, Hajoon?” Youngsoo said.
“Oh, it’s… it’s because every time I hear my sister’s name, I get nervous,” Dong-sun said.
“Sister?”
“Yes. Jin Ae is my identical twin. People always misunderstand us because we are so alike. We get in trouble sometimes.”
Youngsoo tilted his head. “She didn’t tell me she has a twin. Do you know about this, Mee Yoon?”
“Yes! She once told me about him.”
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
“Because it’s not important, is it?”
Youngsoo gazed at Dong-sun. “I suddenly miss her.”
“Please stop staring at me. I’m embarrassed.”
Dong-sun stood up. “I really have to go. Thanks for the coffee.”
“See you around, Hajoon.” Youngsoo waved at him.
“Hey, you’re creeping him out. Why are you here?” Youngsoo turned to her.
“I will live here with you.”
“What?”
“Who knows what the killer can do to you? He is obsessed with you. Since you believe Daewon is innocent, then I’ll stay here.” His words came crashing through her brain like a 7 magnitude earthquake.
“Are you kidding me? I won’t allow that.”
“Sister, I’m not asking your permission. I am informing you. I’ll get my things in the car.” Youngjsoo splattered a roguish grin on his face.
“What about Sun Hee?”
“Worry about yourself. I can handle her. They assigned detective Dan to solve the Faceless Murderer case, so we have nothing to worry about.”
Prosecutor Seo Youngsoo and Detective Dan Hwa Young could make a great team. It’s their fourth time solving a crime together and not a single investigation flopped.
When evening came, Youngsoo prepared Tteokbokki, Kimbap, Twigim, Jumeokbap, Omurice, and pickled radish. When Mee Yoon was in Law School, he always sends her some food because she often skips meals. He didn’t let her feel lonely since she was trapped in a course she disliked.
“We can order food. You don’t have to cook,” Mee Yoon commented.
“Just be grateful, okay? I miss using your kitchen.” Youngsoo placed everything on the table one by one.
“You miss using my kitchen? I’m moved,” she said in a sarcastic tone.
“Quit pretending, sis. I know you miss my cooking skills.”
“Just so you know, your dishes are the worst.”
A smile formed on his lips. Mee Yoon was trying so hard to hate him, but she can’t. Mee Yoon was a pig, as she devoured the food without mercy. Youngsoo stared at her, barely touching his food.
“What? Is this your first time seeing me eat?” she asked with some sauce around her mouth. He pulled some tissues and wiped them.
“Nope. This is how I eat with poise like a rich Western man.”
Mee Yoon laughed. “What?”
“Women like gentlemen. Literally. They drool whenever I eat with ease. The movement of my tongue makes them space out.”
“Wait. What?” She lifted an eyebrow.
“Don’t act shocked, sis. I go on dates sometimes.”
“I am more impressed by your confidence, brother. With all your ‘charisma’ you never have a girlfriend.” Youngsoo rolled his eyes.
“Where did you learn that? Stop it. You don’t look manly at all.”
“Whatever,” he said and flipped his hair as if it was long. Mee Yoon shook her head.
“I have higher hopes,” she whispered. Mee Yoon lifted her head when the thought of Sun Hee crossed her mind. Youngsoo was still eating like a food critic, chewing them in slow motion.
“Is Sun Hee okay?”
“If you are so worried about her, then call her now and let her move in with us. All three of us under one roof would be fun.”
“This place is too small for us. Why not stay at your house? It’s bigger.”
“That’s not a bad idea. Pack your things.”
Mee Yoon stopped eating. “What are you saying?”
“Let’s move in there. All three of us.”
“You’ve got to be kidding me…”
“You don’t want to?”
“Omo!” Mee Yoon rushed to her room and immediately prepared her things.

Detective Jeon Ryung presented the evidence, pointing at Daewon. Daewon scanned each of them. It was pictures of him stalking Mee Yoon, his medical certificate, and his DNA on the crime scenes.
“Give me a reason why you are not the culprit, Mr. Do,” the detective said.
“You only found my DNA after weeks, detective. Someone fabricated the evidence. Isn’t it obvious?”
“Well, there’s a chance that you came back to the scene thinking that we won’t recheck it. Thank God, Detective Dan always comes back to the scene in case the culprit returns. She’s the best partner I have in the team.”
“Why would the culprit come back? As far as I know, killers never come back to the scene because they know the cops well. He will only go there if he plans to make someone pay for his crime,” Daewon said in a firm tone.
“Of all people, why do you think he chose you to take the blame? What’s your connection?”
Daewon thought for a minute.
“I am the easiest target. He knows I want Mee Yoon back, and he grabbed that chance to frame me up. I think he’s been observing us.”
“Do you have someone in mind?”
Daewon’s fingers kept tapping the table as he pondered upon who the culprit could be. His face lit up when he remembered something.
“Yes. There is.”
“Who?”
“Dong-sun.”
The detective leaned closer. “Who is Dong-sun?”
“He is someone I want to get rid of,” Daewon thought.
“He is best known as Yang Hajoon.”
“Yang Hajoon? I haven’t heard of that name.”
“You should watch the news more often. He is a celebrity, a rising star.”
“Why would I believe you? A celebrity can’t be a serial killer. Don’t make up stories. We are not writing a novel here.”
Daewon smirked. “Do a background check on him. I’m sure you’ll find something. It will shock you like I was before. Thank me for this, detective. You’ll get promoted if you solve this case.”
