13 - Day 1
/Myrtle's Point of View/
Where am I?
Did I pass out?
I slowly opened my eyes and looked around the area.
I'm inside a clinic and still wearing my wedding gown.
What happened?
A nurse came in, and I immediately asked her what was happening. She told me I had lost consciousness in the bathroom, and Sean brought me here.
I messed up again.
I can't believe the wedding was ruined because of me.
"Myrtle." Sean walked towards me and immediately hugged me. "Are you okay?" he asked.
I nodded my head and kept my mouth shut. I feel ashamed for what I have done.
"Don't worry, I already canceled the remaining events. Do you want to go home already?" he asked again while caressing my hair.
"I'm sorry. I'm really sorry, Sean. I didn't mean to ruin your wedding. It was just -"
"Shh. It's fine, Myrtle. Don't worry about it. I'm here," he comforted me and kissed my forehead.
I don't know why, but his kisses always make me feel at peace.
"By the way, do you want to spend time at the beach?"
...
After an hour at the hospital, we went back to Sean's condo. I have already changed my clothes into more comfortable ones. Sean said we were going to the beach and staying there for days.
It's a good way to relax, so I agreed.
That's when I realized something...
When couples get married, don't they immediately do their honeymoon after the wedding?
"Hey, Sean! Is this a honeymoon?" I asked him in a fury. I can't believe I just agreed to his offer!
"Hmm, kind of. But since we can't violate the contract, we shouldn't touch each other," he replied and smiled.
Right, of course, we wouldn't do that.
I sighed in relief and fixed the other things I'd need.
"Hey, Myrtle! You looked so beautiful a while back!" Lemon said and hugged me. She also brought my bag of clothes since she was the one who prepared it.
"Thanks," I replied as I grabbed the bag from her.
How come I didn't see her at my wedding earlier?
"You look good too, Lemon. This condo is yours for how many days, so feel free to do whatever you want," I replied to her and smiled. Her eyes sparkled in joy.
"Goodbye, Myrtle. I hope that when you come back here, you're already three!"
Eh? What does she mean?
"Huh?" I responded in bewilderment.
"Oh, you didn't get that? I mean, when you come back home here, I hope you already have a baby inside you." Lemon pointed at my belly, and she plastered a mischievous grin.
"Lemon! You shouldn't say that!" I yelled at her, but she just kept laughing.
"Don't worry about it. I'll be giving your baby a name. Hmm, should it be Seattle, as in Sean and Myrtle? Or Apple? Or Orange?" Lemon started spatting out many fruit names that she wanted to name my future baby.
"Alright, Lemon. There's no baby yet, and there will be no babies. I need to study first before bearing a child, okay?" I told her, and she immediately agreed.
Hah, that fruit head.
"Myrtle." I looked at Sean, and he was already calling me to go.
"Don't you dare touch me while we're in that place, Sean," I told him and rolled my eyes at him?
He chuckled while fixing the sleeves of his polo shirt.
"Okay," he replied in hesitation.
DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH ME BECAUSE IF YOU DO, MR. BILLIONAIRE, I WILL CUT YOUR LIMBS!
Nope, I couldn't do that.
"Have you been in a sea before?" he asked me while we were inside a Limousine. He is drinking a glass of wine, and I'm just amazed by how big and long this car is.
"This car is so big. I could even live here," I said in awe.
"Do you want a car like this? I could buy you one."
Is he serious? This must cost more than my nineteen years of life.
"To answer your question a while back, yes, I had been in a sea before already. I was with my classmates, and we just ditched school that time." I remember those days when all I had to do was have fun and live my life as if there was no tomorrow.
But now, I'm already married.
"You're so carefree," Sean said and smiled at me.
"Yes. I can't believe I married someone like you. You're so studious and busy," I replied and teased him.
"That means we're a perfect match."
Perfect match, my ass.
I felt calm, but I suddenly remembered the harsh words that Sean's mom told me.
"Sean, you should've told me your mom was rude," I muttered in hesitation. Did I lie, though? He should've at least told me, so I could brace myself.
"Sorry. I also didn't know she would react like that. My mom is unpredictable. I'm so sorry, Myrtle, I really am."
"It's fine. We'll get divorced soon anyway and get our normal lives back. Just, how many months should I be with you?" I asked him.
"It depends if you won't fall in love with me."
Hah, of course NOT.
There were many snacks inside the Limousine, so I didn't get hungry. Also, it doesn't feel like I'm inside a vehicle at all.
As we arrived at the beach, I covered myself with a shawl because the sun was already setting, and it was cold.
"Do you feel cold?" Sean asked me, and he removed his coat and covered it on me.
"Thanks," I replied.
"Let's go to our room first, and we can spend the night outside if you want."
We went to an area where it was only the two of us.
"Did you just rent the whole place?" I asked him, and he laughed.
"Yeah, I don't want anyone to disturb our honeymoon," he replied mischievously.
How dare he?
I went inside the resort hotel, and I could tell it was luxurious from its exterior.
Sean, you don't have to waste too much money on me. I'll have a hard time paying for everything. Maybe it'll take my whole life to pay for all these.
"Do you like it here?" Sean was standing beside me while he was carrying our luggage.
"Give me my bag. I can carry it," I told Sean and attempted to grab my bag from him, but he refused.
"You'll be carrying something from me for nine months soon, so let me carry your bag for you," he replied.
Huh?
WHAT?
Did I just hear him wrong?
"Good evening, Mr. and Mrs. Ackerman. Welcome to your resort, the Ackerman resort." A lady wearing a blue uniform greeted us. She was like in her twenties.
Ackerman?
This resort is named Ackerman resort?
That mean Sean owns this place? Is that why there are no people?
I feel like my mind will explode because of everything that's happening. I can't even believe that my surname has changed already!
Myrtle Piena S. Ackerman.
Yuck!
But it's just so surprising. I keep being surprised by Sean with his riches.
"You didn't tell me you owned this place," I told him sternly.
"We own this, darling," he replied.
Stop...calling...me...darling.
"Your room is upstairs, sir. If you want to stay at the house, you could also stay there. Have fun!" the lady continued and showed us where our room was.
Our room is -
IT'S SO BIG!
Man, ten people could stay in here.
"You don't have to boast your riches to me like this," I muttered to Sean as we walked inside the room.
"I just want to show what I could give to my wife I love." He grabbed my wrist and suddenly turned me to look at him.
It was so sudden that the heat in my body went up as I looked into his blue eyes.
He started to touch my hear behind my ear and slowly moved closer to me.
OH, NO. I'M GETTING FLUSTERED!
"Uh, Sean?" I mumbled, and he finally realized what he was doing.
"Sorry," he replied and moved away.
"WE'RE YOU JUST ABOUT TO KISS ME?!" I madly shouted at him and pointed at myself.
"No. I didn't mean to kiss you," he replied and looked away.
Still denying it, huh?
"I know that when you break one of the rules of the contract, you're going to pay 50,000 dollars to the other party. So, don't be so impulsive, Sean," I haughtily told him and placed my bag on the bed.
Damn, if he breaks the contract rules, he can pay for it anyway. It's going to make me rich.
But still, I don't want the both of us to be acting like real married couples because we're not in love.
If he really loves me, he didn't have to manipulate me into marrying him.
Nevermind. What is finished should be forgotten.
"I'll take a bath first," I told Sean and went inside the bathroom. Even the bathroom looks so luxurious. I don't know how to use the things in here.
I opened my luggage and when I looked at all of the clothes in there,
LINGERIES?!
NIGHT WEARS?!
SWIMSUITS?!
WHAT THE HECK, LEMON?!
That little kid. I can't believe she didn't put a decent dress for me to wear! Now, what do I do?
Should I just wear this sweatshirt and jeans I am currently wearing until we return?
THEN I'M GOING TO SMELL REALLY AWFUL!
Lemon, you sneaky little child. Why did you put such clothes in my luggage? It doesn't look like clothing because it shows too much skin.
Nevermind. I'm going to take a bath. The good thing is that there's a robe in here. I could use it to cover me once I'm done showering.
I finished taking a bath, and I wore one of the nighties Lemon placed in my bag.
"Geez, I look like a whore," I muttered to myself as I looked at my reflection in the mirror.
I grabbed the robe and covered it to myself. There's no way I will show myself to Sean in just that thin piece of clothing.
When I went out of the shower room, I saw Sean standing at the doorway.
"What on earth are you doing there? Are you peeking on me?"
"No, I was just waiting for you because you're too slow. I need to take a shower too." He went inside the shower room and started to remove his shirt.
"HEY, STOP THAT! There are a lot of bathrooms in this place. You could use those!" I looked away while screaming at him.
"Oh, darling, why are you looking away? You're my wife," he gently said.
"SHUT IT!"
I ran away and abruptly jumped into the king-sized bed. I covered myself with the pillow because I was getting totally flustered!
What on earth was he doing?
And why is my heart beating so fast?
