Beckett immediately hit the wall when he thought of that. He didn’t waste any more time. He quickly searched for paper and a pen to write down his thoughts. Fortunately, he still memorized the ingredients and knew the drugs that could interfere with the chemicals. Due to his endless thinking, the three days passed quickly for Beckett. He didn’t even realize that he was eating only twice a day and spent almost the entire day sitting on the edge, thinking. He had filled almost an entire notebook with writings and drawings of various things. Everything was settled, so all he needed to do when he got out was go to the warehouse and test all his ideas. “If what I’m thinking is correct, it means that the other drink Ella had taken is the reason why she went into a coma. It was also the reason for her nosebleed,” Beckett muttered while staring at his notebook. He was bothered by the events, but it wasn’t just the chemical in Ella’s body that made him uneasy. It was because of another realization. A painful and disturbing one. “Then… it could mean that Alfred knew about our plan all along, or he was making Ella drink something that can gradually deteriorate her health.” BECKETT’S three-day imprisonment eventually ended. He struggled with his thoughts because he had no Wi-Fi connection to search for things he didn’t know, so now he planned to organize his notes before going to the warehouse. A guard opened the door, so Beckett went out. He was slightly surprised to see Jeru leaning against the wall, hands in his pockets, smirking at Beckett. “Nice. Even though you were locked up for a while, it looks like you didn’t get bored,” Jeru teased. “I should have let you stay locked up longer.” “My mind has been occupied lately. I don’t have time to get bored,” Beckett replied seriously. His head throbbed slightly from the prolonged thinking. “Thank you. I’ll go ahead now.” "Sure." Jeru nodded, signaling his permission, so Beckett left the place. Beckett went to his house first. There, he began his research. He added and removed notes, and once he was sure everything was okay, he went to the warehouse to experiment. It took him all afternoon to mix various chemicals. It was important for him to find out what Ella had been drinking because that was also the way to treat her. He had a hunch. Alfred had deliberately given Ella the medicine so that if something like this happened, it would work in Alfred's favor. Now that Ella was in the hospital, fighting for her life, it would make it even easier for Alfred to control Vivianne. 'Wait for me, Vivianne. This will be quick,' Beckett thought, shaking his head slightly and closing his eyes. He was sleep-deprived and hadn't eaten since that morning. It was already afternoon, and he had been working for hours. As a model and actor, his body was used to this, but thinking and dealing with pressure... was not. Lost in his thoughts, he didn't realize he was about to touch the cylinder. Fortunately, Rex was there and quickly pulled his hand back. "Sir Beckett, maybe you should rest for a while?" Rex suggested before letting go of his master's hand. "It will be harder for you to think if your mind and body are tired. This can probably wait." He glanced at the cylinders filled with various chemicals. Beckett didn’t want to rest, but Rex was right. His mind was blank, so he sat on the couch and took a short nap. Minutes later, he was in a different place. He was in a forest. It was dark, quiet, and cold. Beckett kept walking even though he didn't know where he was going. He had taken several steps when he saw a woman leaning against a tree. She was bleeding and looked weak. Beckett didn't care about anyone, but something urged him to check on her. He nearly stumbled in shock when he saw it was Vivianne. Her eyes were swollen from crying for a long time, and there was blood on her lips. “Beckett… Help me…” “Vivianne!” Beckett jolted awake from his nightmare. He was sweating profusely and his whole body was trembling. “No. This won’t do.” He quickly stood up and devoured the hamburger and fries, which he was sure were from Rex. After that, he resumed his work until he had an idea of what Ella was drinking and how he could cure her. Because if his suspicion about Alfred was correct, he had no intention of getting Vivianne’s mother treated to wake her up. Three days had passed, and he had returned. But this time, he was different. What Alfred did had obviously crossed the line, so he would do the same. He had no intention of taking things slowly. He would attack Alfred in a single blow. And to do that, he needed to focus intensely on his plans. “Resignation?!” Fiona’s eyes widened in shock at what she heard. “But you have so many pending schedules. Why is this so sudden? Is it because of Vivianne?” “No. She has nothing to do with this,” Beckett shook his head. “I’ll finish all my pending commitments, but I won’t take another one after that.” “May I ask why you are resigning? Maybe we can discuss this,” Herch, the CEO of Syneverse Entertainment, said. “Is it about the hectic schedules? Or the commissions? Tell me. I’ll give you everything you want.” “I need to do something, and it requires my full focus.” “Then we can give you a one-year hiatus.” “Sorry, but one year of hiatus is not enough.” “Then make it two,” Herch quickly replied. But Beckett shook his head again to decline his offer. “No, thank you. What I really need is resignation.” Herch sighed. He knew Beckett well from their long years of working together. When he didn’t want something, he really didn’t, and he couldn’t be persuaded. “Alright. But if you change your mind, let me know,” Herch said before turning to his secretary. “Take care of the documents.” “Yes, Sir.” Herch left after that, and so did Beckett. He prioritized that to ensure that later, when he talked to Vivianne, no one would disturb them. However, when Beckett looked for Vivianne, he was puzzled because she couldn't be found. And not only that, he cursed because the message he had sent to his wife hadn't gone through. It seemed like he hadn't even tried to reach out to her. "Beck, even our hackers can't locate her," Nathan said when Beckett called him to find Vivianne. "Her last location was at the pier. After that, we couldn't trace where she went." "Then, it could be an island." Beckett gritted his teeth, then suddenly remembered his dream when he was still in Agrianthropos. "I think I know where she is." Beckett ended the call after that. He didn't waste any time and quickly went to the Allamino Mansion. He was sure that wherever Vivianne was now, Alfred had something to do with it. Beckett clicked the doorbell, and it was opened by one of Alfred's men. He went straight inside. He saw Alfred in the living room, reading a newspaper. "To what do I owe the pleasure?" Alfred asked, not even bothering to look at him even though he knew Beckett was there. "Where's Vivianne?" "I don't know. She's your wife, isn't she? You should know where she is," Alfred replied with a frown, but there was also a smirk on his lips.
