EPILOGUE

Silas can’t look at her in the eye. She’s now a fashion designer. She wears stylish clothes unlike before that she wears repetitive and common styles. “Silas, no hard feelings” she said. For the first time, he looked at her again. “You never changed. I’m glad you chased your dreams” Silas talked casually. “This dream brought me back to you. Your fiancé chose me to be the designer of her wedding gown” Stella replied.
“Anyway, please come to our wedding. No hard feelings?” he said. “Silas, I will. I never thought of dwelling in the past anyway. Besides, when I found out that Kristen is your future wife, I’m glad that I built connections with you two. She personally chose me to customize her gown. She asked for a favor. I thought you told her about us” she said. “I did. But in the journal” he replied. They’re standing in the middle of the aisle. Their standings where the center of view is their God. “I remember the days when I used to stare at you. You’re shorter back then. Your eyes were sharp, and you dress religiously” Stella chuckled while reminiscing.
“I remember you used to sit on that bench before lunch time. All day long we talk about future. I can’t believe the timeline we were talking about is happening now. Right here, in the exact place where it all started” he added. Stella smirked, “So many promises. Not all of them were justified. Glad we still had a communication like this.” “I hate to say this. But do you think this one is a good closure?” he asked. Stella chuckled, “I don’t think we should have a closure. Everything’s clear to me since you left. I’m sure you already moved on ages ago. What I only want now is…” Stella didn’t continue her sentence.
“What? Say it now” he replied. “I want to be your kid’s godmother. Can I?” she asked. “Of course, I know you’re a good person” Silas agreed. Stella felt contentment in herself. She already accepted the fact that she and Silas just crossed paths but they are not destined. “We were so young back then. Now you have a four-month-old kid inside your fiancé’s womb” Stella said. “Time really flew fast. I still can’t believe were living the life now. You already succeeded in your dream” Silas replied. “I heard you’ll pursue aviation now. I wish you the best” Stella replied. The two talked as if they were close friends. Just as that, the wedding was continued to be prepared.
Kristen found herself sitting beside Ji An’s gravestone. Frances tapped her shoulder, “I know you still want to stay a little longer but you’ll be late”. Kristen looked up and nodded. She still needs to retouch her makeup after crying a ton. They rode in a white limousine. Inside, her dress was partnered with a veil and her makeup is eye-catching. She’s nervous as if she was in an arranged marriage.
“We’re here. If you feel uncomfortable, I can open the fire exit’s door and take you home” said Kristan who’s driving the vehicle. Kristen sighed, “I am ready for this. Just a little nervous because once I step in, there’s no going back… forever”. Today is Kristen’s wedding to the person she wanted after the disappointment from two years ago. Her white wedding gown and flower-printed veil partnered with her glowing makeup made everything gorgeous. Her beauty withstands the crowd inside the church. She saw the man she’s going to marry near the altar. She walked, multiple thoughts inside her head for Ji An. “I’m sorry I never gave you the chance to witness this. I always thought that I am selfish because I broke our promise. Now that you’re gone, please be a witness and a guardian angel revolving in our relationship”
Petals of blue roses filled the aisle. She’s now one step near her future husband. She looked at him eye to eye; affection and willingness are in her mind. She’s carrying this man’s child and there’s never going back. She loved him for almost three years.
Now, he’s standing in front of her, palm handing to hers. He’s wearing a suit that matches his pale white skin. His mysterious eyes are now easy to be read. He’s alive, he’s Silas.
The two faced the altar. They are getting wedded by a familiar face. He is – Fr. Xavier Zhou, his former senior. In the homily Xavier said, “I remember Silas used to court my sister but I’m glad each of them went into maturity and understood what love in a matter of faith means” he said.
In their vows she said, “From now on, I will be happy waiting for you. You once proved that your comebacks are the best. You gave me the most precious gift that is made by the two of us. I will treasure you and our little fighter inside my womb. I will wait patiently every time you have flights, my future captain”.

In their vows he said, “This day came. I never thought of getting married but He gave us a reason to tie our knot. Our little boy is getting bigger inside”. The crowd cheered because of the sudden gender revelation. “We prayed for a boy and here it is. Our faith and patience were the keys why our battles are unlocked. Remember that I love you always and I will love you more and more every single day, future Dra. Tiueco. Erase that, in a few minutes you’re going to carry my surname in your name” he winked that made her heart melt.
And just as that, Kristen bore their first born – Naphtali Avian, a tribe of Israel and his dad’s passion. While their kid is growing, he values the blue sand necklace in his chest. Yes, Stella really became his godmother and that became a chance for her to return Silas’ necklace.
Their kid inherited almost everything Silas had. His looks and even his interests. As a young kid, he was taught about how faith is important. He’s holding a paper plane in his hand and runs around the house his parents built to call a home. “You don’t need to fold those papers again my little captain” Silas said.
He’s wearing his uniform and he looks handsome as usual. Still masculine and minimal signs of aging in his face. He’s almost 30 years old but he looks young for his age. “Dad!” Nat shouted. He hasn’t seen his dad for almost a week because of an international flight. He saluted at his father and quickly grabbed a toy store’s paper bag in his dad’s hand.
Kristen went downstairs, “You’re spoiling him again, Silas” she said. Silas went near her and gave her a kiss longer than before. “God, I missed you so bad. Our kid deserves that award. See that his teacher e-mailed me his grades. He got my intelligence” he said.
“Then teach him not to destroy those toys again” Kristen said. Silas nodded and started operating the remote-controlled airplane toy. With a simple move, his son becomes happy. It reminds him of his childhood. They are raising him very well and they are glad Nat can understand their morals.
The two lived a happy life. Stella continued her work overseas and is still searching the one she was destined with. Everything was perfect especially with their family. The whole brotherhood were guiding Nat’s Christian life. Xavier already continued to priesthood.
Silas’ two tales came to an end. Finally, it was a happy ending for the two. This is his heartbreak and love story in one piece. To love is to have faith. To love is to wait. To love is to take risks. And to love is to be diverse.
