Chapter 17: Threatened
Chapter 17: Threatened
Vishiea’s POV
“Lady Anastasia, I’m leaving now. Are you all right here?” I stopped reading when I heard Cassie’s voice. She’s standing in front of me now. I smiled a little and nodded, “Yes, I’ll be fine. I’ll leave also after I read this,” I replied while showing the book in my hand.
She nodded her head, “Great. I’ll see you around then,” I nodded once again. I watched her leave, and when she was gone, I continued reading. A smile formed on my lips when I finished reading the book. The ending is kind of interesting. I think there’s a book two or three.
I carefully dropped the book on the table and yawned. I’ve been here for almost two hours now, and I’m starving. I stood up and decided to have my lunch. I guess I missed the luncheon time. So, I’ll be having my lunch meal alone.
While walking in the hallway, I unexpectedly met Rachelle halfway. She’s glaring at me as if she wanted to kill me now. That’s scary, I joked. I remained silent and maintained composure. I didn’t have any plan to greet her, so if possible, I wanted to go where I wanted to go without making any scene with her.
But just like what I expected, she grabbed my wrist and made me look at her. Her maids behind her were shocked and quickly looked at me with pity. Oh well, I understand them. They have known her for a long time now, and I’m pretty sure they are aware of what she can do.
I can tell her personality sucks. I said that because she ruined my relationship with Darius before. But because she’s a bitch. No wonder why the king isn’t pleased with her attitude. Neither I. Who will tolerate someone like her?
“Is there anything I can do for you?” I asked her politely. She glared even more and harshly released my hand. I don’t know if I’ll be happy that she’s treating me this way or be annoyed.
“Yes, there is. Stay. The. Hell. Away. From. My. Fiancée,” she said empathically. I looked at her intently and then burst into laughter. Is she seriously giving me a warning?
“What? Is there something funny about what I said,” I can clearly hear that she’s pissed? I bit my inner lip and calmed myself down.
“I’m sorry, I just couldn’t help it. If you’re worried that I might steal your fiancée, rest assured. I won’t,” the smile on my lips widened. If ever he falls in love with me, it’s natural; I’m still his mate after all. I found her funny. She’s being territorial with someone she doesn’t even own.
“And please tell that to him. Say to him that he needs to stay the hell away from me,” I continued and chuckled.
“Are you telling me that my fiancée is the one who’s seducing you?” Seducing me? She’s funny. I’ll be the one who will seduce him. It’ll ruin their relationship. But not now; there’s a perfect time for that. If it is true that he’s seducing me, then it will be easy for me to destroy them.
“If that’s what you think, then why are you here telling me to stay away from him? Come on, My lady. Are you jealous of me?” Her eyes widened in shock. But then, a few seconds later, her face reddened in anger.
“How dare you? I’m not jealous of you or anyone else! Just stay away from him; that’s what I’m asking for. If I’ll saw you with him alone again, I’ll fucking won’t let you live,” I almost cringe. She’s giving me empty threats.
“All right. I hear you, but you should say that to him, too. Why are you acting this way? Don’t you trust him?” I replied. She’s amusing me. “Of course, I trust him, but I don’t trust you!” I expected that. I don’t trust her either or anyone here.
“All right. I’ll leave him alone, but he will stop bugging me around also,” After I said that, I nodded and took my leave. She did not say any words anymore; she just let me leave.
I’ll go into my room first. I was about to switch the light open. Someone took my hand and pinned me on the wall. My eyes widened slightly; who the hell entered my room without my permission?
“Where did you go?” My brow quickly furrowed when I heard his voice. Is he seriously here to ask me that? It’s dark inside since I never opened the curtains when I left earlier. I can only hear his voice now.
“Why are you here?” I asked instead of answering his question. Rachelle warned me a while ago, and then here he is, pinning my body on the wall. This is funny.
“I asked you first,” Do I need to answer his question? “Let me go, Your Majesty. This is inappropriate; someone might see us. I don’t want them to think that I’m a home wrecker,” I whispered.
He did not release me. Instead, I heard him laugh. “Who will see us here?” he whispered back. I bit my inner lip. I know he can be this annoying like before, but damn, it doubled.
“Just let me go, Your Majesty. Rachelle’s not happy about this. And please, you’re the king and engage,” I heard him laugh softly.
“Who cares if Rachelle is mad? She’s treating you like garbage, and I don’t like it,” I frowned. I took a deep breath, “She’s your mate---” He cut me off quickly.
“She’s not. And you’re my mate,” he said. This time, I’m the one who laughed, “Well, I’m not your mate. So, release me now and leave.”
I did not expect him to let me go, but he did. “I’ll release you, but I’m not leaving. We need to talk,” he said and turned on the light. I saw him walking closer to my bed and sat at the edge of it. I’m not happy to say this, but damn, he still looked the same—the man I used to love before.
I shrugged my shoulder and walked towards him. “I believe there’s nothing we need to talk about,” I said seriously.
He raised an eyebrow, “We have, Vishiea---”
“It’s Anastasia.”
He rolled his eyes, “Whatever your name is. You’re still here, my mate,” he insisted. I’m quite amused. He seems like he’s sure about what he is saying.
“Well, I’m not. So, spill it, Your Majesty,” he sighed and nodded. “Since you don’t want to admit your identity. I’ll keep an eye on you,” I raised an eyebrow.
“But I’m not really her!” I couldn’t help but yell that. He nodded, “You’re still in denial,” he’s annoying.
“All right. You’ll keep your eyes on me, but stay the hell away. Your mate--- fiancée even warned me.” His brow met in the centre.
“What do you mean?” Well, isn’t it obvious? Rachelle hates me because he’s giving me attention.
“You better ask her. So, now… leave,” I expected him not to leave, but he stood up. He looked serious now, “When did she threaten you?” he asked. I only shook my head, “It doesn’t matter.”
He did not say a word; he moved towards the door. “Tell me if she’ll hurt you,” he said before leaving.Download Novelah App
