Chapter 20: Christian , Darius' Cousin
Chapter 20: Christian , Darius' Cousin
Vishiea's POV
“All rise!”
I wanted to avert my gaze away from him, but I didn’t. Instead, I smiled sweetly. He was a little shocked at what I did, but he smiled back.
I wonder what's going on inside his head now. Is he still thinking that I’m Vishiea?
I saw Rachelle whisper something in his ear, obviously saying something to him, but he was clearly not listening because of me. I chuckled mentally. This is getting funnier.
When she noticed his silence, her brow furrowed. Irritation is visible on her face.
“The fuck are you looking at?” even if I’m far, I know that's what she said. Her face is screaming danger as she follows where he is looking at.
And she became grumpier when she saw him actually looking at me. If looks can kill now, I’m probably dead.
“Seriously, Darius?” she asked him angrily. That was the moment Darius stopped looking at me and faced her.
“Seriously, what?” he asked innocently. I wanted to laugh, but I stopped myself. That's funny as hell. Is he seriously playing dumb now?
“Don't give me that shit, Dar. Why are you looking for at her!” Darius only gave her a look. I couldn’t help but chuckle. Damn, they looked cute when they were fighting.
I shook my head and continue looking at them. Thanks to my enhanced hearing, I can hear their little conversation.
“Why are you looking at that bitch!” she repeated. Really? She's calling me bitch again? She's mean.
Darius face darkened. He removed her hand on his arm and seriously look at her.
“She's not a bitch, Rachelle.” Rachelle laughed sarcastically.
“Not a bitch? She is. She's seducing you, Darius. Can't you see that? Are you out of your mind now! She's not Vishiea for god's sake! Stop this bullshit!”
Darius grabbed her hand and pulled her somewhere else. If I were him, I will do the same. Everyone is watching them now.
But I think everyone is aware too that they are always fighting. Even on small things, like this. My gaze follow where they go.
“Don't talk about her,” he warned her. But Rachelle is being Rachelle, she rolled her eyes and laughed again.
“Don't talk about her? Damn, Darius. Why? You're affected?” He grabbed her closer, harshly. I can sense danger now. If Rachelle won't stop talking, he'll might hurt her.
“Just stop now, Rachelle. Don't make any scene here tonight or else,” he warned seriously. For the first time, I saw fear in Rachelle's eyes.
“All right. Just… just don't make me jealous. You knew me, right?” Darius let out a sigh and released her. Her fierce expression was replaced by fear now.
“You don't have the right to get jealous,” that's only what he said. He turned his back on her and started to walk away.
That's quite a scene. I shrugged my shoulder and chuckled softly. Rachelle was left alone in her place in disbelief. I will feel the same if I were her.
I saw him walking towards my direction. Wait, what? Why is he going here? Before he can approach me, I flee.
As much as I want to add salt on Rachelle's wound now, I can't. Maybe, later.
While trying to lose him, I bump into someone. I almost fall but he quickly grabbed my arm, preventing me from falling.
I look up when I regain my balance. “Are you okay, Miss?” the stranger asked me. I nodded, “Yes, thank you,” I replied softly as I met his gaze.
I was a little stunned upon looking his face. He looked familiar. I just don't know where and when I saw him.
“I think I know you, have we met before?” He asked me the same question I’m thinking.
I shook my head, not sure on what I’m going to answer. “No, I don't think so.”
If we meet before, he might remember me. That's what I need to prevent. They should not know my identity this early.
“I see. Please be careful next time,” I only nodded. “By the way, I'm---” before he can continue his sentence, someone talked behind me.
“I'm glad to see you here now, Ian.” I did not look back. I know it's him. He manage to find me, very unlucky.
The man who named Ian looked at him then to me. He smiled widely, “Yes. It's been a long time, Darius.”
They knew each other that well to call each other by their first name?
I feel Darius walked closer and stopped beside me. “So, you two met,” My brow furrowed in confusion.
“Not really. I was about to introduce myself when you came,” The man named Ian said. That's very honest.
“Oh, I see. I'm sorry to interrupt,” he said making me look at him. Why I can hear sarcasm in his voice?
He looked serious now. Ian chuckle half-heartedly. “That just fine, Darius. I can still introduce myself now.”
Darius face remained serious. He slowly looked at me. My brow furrowed even more. The hell is wrong with him? Why is he following me?
I looked back at Ian when I heard him faked a cough. “I'm Christian, Darius' cousin,” he introduced himself.
Oh, he's Darius' cousin. I remember now, we, Darius and I, used to play with him when we are still a child. If I’m not wrong, he and his family left the main city when he's ten.
“I'm pleased to meet you, Christian. I'm Anastasia Cullen,” I introduced myself too.
Shock was visible in his face when he heard my name. “Anastasia Cullen? You must be the youngest and most daring duchess,” He said with amazement in his voice.
They flatter me so much. I shyly laughed, “Might be the youngest, but not daring, Christian or Ian. Pardon, I must address you your highness or something else?”
He laughed, “Please, just Christian or Ian will do.”
I nodded, “Christian then. Please call me, Anastasia too.”
Both of us laughed but I stopped when I felt Darius hand on my back. I look at him but he seems unbothered.
“Now you know each other. May I excuse Lady Anastasia in a moment?” Ian looked confuse but he nodded.
“Sure, Dar. Anastasia, my pleasure to meet you. I’ll see you around then?”
“See you, Ian.” After I said that, Darius pulled me away from Ian. My brow met as I tried to removed his hand on my back.
But he instead snaked his hand around my waist. I removed his hand again.
“We're getting their attention, your majesty. Please stop this,” he stop walking so do I.
“Getting their attention, so what?” Is he serious? I sighed in disbelief.
“So what? I don't know what's wrong with you and what are you thinking, your majesty but don't get me involved with your crazy ideas. Please, excuse me,” I bowed.
