Chapter 7: Mainland Vishiea’s POV “Are you sure you don’t want me to accompany you?” Dylan asked me while helping me to pack my clothes. I shook my head, “No, I can manage. Just take care of her. Mother Kiara needs someone to look after her, and I can’t do that now,” I answered. He let out a sigh, “Okay then. Please be safe.” I will go back to the mainland tomorrow. Mother Kiara receives an invitation from the palace. They were celebrating the Blue Moon Festival—an annual festival I used to celebrate with my mate… oh, ex-mate before. “How long will you stay there?” He asked again. I stopped folding my dress and looked at him. I don’t know. The festival will start tomorrow and until next month. Which festival will consume three weeks, I think? But I will stay there longer if needed. “Vishiea?” “Oh, probably a month or more. Depending on the situation. If something happens here, I’ll go home as soon as possible. So, don’t forget to inform me. Don’t you dare to keep any secret, or else---” he cut me off. “Yeah, or else you’ll kill me. You’re so harsh on me, Vishiea. Is that how you treat your best friend?” I just rolled my eyes. “Whatever, Dylan. Anyway, thank you for helping me. You can leave now,” I dismissed him. He raised an eyebrow, “No, I won’t. You’ll leave tomorrow, so I’m asking you, for the last time, can we go out together?” My brow furrowed. “As a friend. Oh god, Vishiea. What are you thinking? I don’t have any crush on you. You’re deadly gorgeous, but you’re not my mate,” He added. I blinked, and after a few seconds, I burst into laughter. What is he thinking? Dating him is not even a choice. That’s just gross. He got the look and body, but it’s a big no to me. “We will go out tonight at eight, be ready. It’s three in the afternoon now, so shoo, get out,” I stood up and pulled him up. He laughed and raised his hands, “Okay, fury. I’m leaving. See you at eight.” I just nodded and sent him out of my room. When he was gone, a sigh escaped from my lips. I sat down on my bed again, “I never thought I would go back to the place that I used to love,” I murmured. “But now I hate it. I loathed everyone there.” A few hours had passed, and it was already seven in the evening. I’m combing my long curvy hair in front of the mirror. My grey eyes reflect sadness. It’s been a long time since I lost my father and mother. And now, I might lose the last person who taught me to live again. I’m afraid to think I’m destined to live alone in this world. I looked at my door when someone knocked. “It’s me, Dylan. Mother Kiara wanted to come with us.” My eyes lightened up. I stood up and opened the door. Hi, smiling face welcomed me, “Really?” He nodded. I’m happy to hear that. The last time Mother Kiara left this mansion was three years ago. I’m delighted to hear that she wants to go out with us. “I’ll just finish this, and then we will leave,” He nodded again. “We’ll be waiting for you outside,” he informed me. I went back inside and finished combing my hair. After that, I took my sling bag above my bed and left. I saw Mother Kiara and Dylan waiting for me when I got outside. I was smiling as I approached them. “You’re here now, dear.” I nodded and went closer to kiss her forehead. “I’m happy that you wanted to come with us,” she smiled back and caressed my cheeks. “Of course. This will be the last time I’ll see you,” she replied, causing my smile to drop. I don’t particularly appreciate how it sounded. I feel like she’s saying goodbye. “Don’t say that, Mother. I’ll come back, and you will see me again,” she just smiled and tapped my shoulder. “I’m serious. You’re not dying,” she shook her head. “We talk about this already.” I shut my mouth close. I know, but it’s hard to say goodbye to someone you love. “Don’t worry about me. I’m old enough. I wanted to rest now too.” Yes, I’m selfish if I won’t let her go. I nodded, “All right, Mother. Shall we go now?” She nodded. Dylan guided her to get inside the car. She sat beside me while Dylan stayed in the passenger seat. While we are on the way, she keeps on caressing my hair. We arrived at our destination just a few minutes after. We ate our dinner in a fine restaurant in the city. We enjoyed each other’s accompany. And I must say this night is a remarkable moment. Later in the morning, they bid me their farewell. I was heading back to the mainland not as Vishiea Craine but as Anastasia Cullen now. Dylan pulled me into a hug, “Keep safe. Tell me if something will happen.” I tapped his back and nodded, “I will. Don’t forget what I told you,” he nodded. “Aye, captain!” I chuckled and playfully punched his shoulder. I went closer to Mother Kiara and hugged her, “I will miss you, Mother.” She embraced me back. “I will miss you too, my daughter.” She caressed my back, “You need to leave now. Remember what I taught you,” I nodded. “I always remember it. Take care always,” I said, kissing my forehead before standing straight. Before I got inside the car, I looked at them for one last time. They all smiled and nodded. I took a deep breath and sighed. This is, there’s no turning back. I finally get inside the car, “Let’s go.” Mr. Leo, Mother Kiara's personal driver, nodded his head and started the car's engine. I opened the car’s window and waved my head, “Goodbye.” I mouthed. While we were on the way, I kept thinking about what would happen when I got there. I know some of them will recognise me. Especially him. Our scent will be the same since we did not break the bond before. After I got exiled, I’m still collecting news about them. From the past to the latest events of their lives. Collect every piece of information about your enemy. Four years ago, I heard he got coronated as the new king of Lycans. Mother Kiara was invited to come, but she didn’t go. And two years ago, I heard he got engaged. While his father, he left the territory with his wife a year ago. But I think they’re back because they will also attend the Blue Moon Festival—an excellent opportunity to meet them again. “We’re here now, my lady,” Mr. Leo said as the car slowed down. I looked outside the window. The palace still looked the same. I slowly got off the car and looked around. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. “Finally, I’m back.” The Kingdom’s Mainland.
