“I miss you, dear,” she whispered. He examined her and noticed that she looked different. Apart from the suture, her sunken eyes indicated that she was down. “I miss you too. When did you notice that you were ill?” “Yesterday. Never mind. I will be fine.” “Yesterday? You should have informed me.” “It wasn't serious. Besides, I don't think it is wise to bother you with such a trivial issue since I knew that you would be around this week.” “What do you mean by bother me? Your health issues cannot be trivial,” he corrected her and pulled her closer. Now, she rested her head on his chest and apologized, “I will be careful next time.” “That is my baby,” he complimented her. Howbeit, he was delighted when she initiated lovemaking. She kissed his lips, and said, “I miss your love, my dear.” “Are you strong enough for this, my baby?” At this point, she had unzipped him and was stroking, and kissing him. "A quick one before the moonlight sex,” she requested. Reminding him of their first night was another arousal, and he did not miss giving her the much-desired pleasure. Just like Mr. Philip, he could not stop, even if he wished to. To his pleasure, she was responsive. “You are delightsome today, Alisa,” he remarked. She was obsessed with his compliment and went wild. He observed her look and was tempted to believe that she took an aphrodisiac drink, and stopped at once. She was disappointed, but he held her tightly and kissed her. “Let's reserve our energy for the moonlight sex. Or what do you think?” The assurance that they would continue calmed her down, and she consented, “You are right.” He lulled her to sleep and, quietly, got up to check the contraindications of her prescriptions which were on the table. He observed that they were the normal drugs for the treatment of malaria and typhoid fever. “What could be responsible for such out-of-control sexual behavior?” He mumbled and looked at her weak face as she slept. Afterward, he focused on the drugs again so picked up the test results, and read through them. He was comfortable with the result because there was no indication of acute typhoid fever. Nevertheless, he dropped it and picked up the second result. He was thrilled and opened his eyes wide as he read through. “Seven weeks pregnancy?” He mumbled and gave her a searching look. He looked at the date of conception, and it aligned with the first time that they met. At that point, tears of joy dropped down his cheeks, and he talked under his breath. “My love is pregnant with our love child.” He dried his tears, and thought of her strong desire for sex, “Could that be responsible for her sexual behavior?” He asked himself. Meanwhile, he had never had an encounter with a pregnant woman. He had been married for thirty years, but his wife, Mitchell, could not conceive. When the idea of adopting a child came up, she encouraged him to try another woman and see if he was fertile, but he refused because he could not imagine that. At last, they came to a consensus that he should see it as fun, but not fall in love with the woman. He looked at her innocent face, and recalled the first day she confessed her love to him, and sobbed, “I have failed you, Mitchell, by falling in love,” he regretted. “Why is she keeping the pregnancy away from me?” He asked himself. Notwithstanding, he carried her from the couch to the bedroom, and they had a good rest until 7 PM. He was disturbed when Irene moved slightly. He woke up, looked at her tired face, and greeted her, “I hope you slept well, my baby?” She gave him a loving look, crossed her hand around him, and responded, “Yes. I did. Did you sleep too?” “Yes. I can see that the drugs took a toll on you.” “I think so,” she responded with sleepy eyes. Nevertheless, he observed that she did not touch on the issue of her pregnancy, and wondered. “Does she wish to hide the pregnancy from me? What is she up to?” To confuse him the more, she expressed, “I love you, Cornell.” His head spun, and he responded, “I love you too, my Alisa." He observed her and waited for her next move. Thereafter, he continued, “You look pale. Did you run any tests at all?” He asked, just to get a clue to the pregnancy test results “Yes, dear. I did, and she gave me some prescriptions,” she responded with fewer worries. He pushed her hair backward and gave her a peck on her temple. Then, he searched her eyes and asked, “I see. What is the result of the test, if I may ask?” “I did not ask, but I believed that it was just a fever. Don't let it bother you, my dear. I will be fine sooner than you think,” she consoled him and gave him a peck. From the look of things, she was not aware of the pregnancy, and he could not think of what to do at that point. Nonetheless, he was aware that she could be hungry, and offered, “You must be starving. I will get you something to eat.” Instantly, she remembered the Prince. Those were the words he used when they discovered that she was pregnant with Aurora. Ignorant of her condition, she beamed with delight, and responded, “Thank you, my dear. I will take care of that,” and attempted to get up, but he stopped her. “Don't worry yourself. I can be of help,” he volunteered and got out of bed. He returned with two cups of tea, and she loved him the more. “Thank you, for this,” she appreciated him with delight. “Nothing is too much for an angel like you,” he emphasized and waited for her to talk about the pregnancy test. When she did not, he played ignorant, too. Thereafter, they dressed up and left for the Garden. At the Stand Point Hotel After Irene referred the caller to Jenny, he gave her a call, and she picked up. He informed her that he would be in the hotel later and that she should make Irene available. At that point, Jenny assumed that she was still with Mr. Philip, and was disturbed. “Will the insatiable Mr. Philip give her the chance to attend to another client?” She mumbled and tried to dismiss the client. “She is off-duty presently due to ill health,” she made clear. “It is all right. Then, it had to be you alone. Am I right? Or do you wish to get a replacement?” Presently, Jenny could not think of any substitute for Irene in such a game.
