Roll to the left. Roll to the right. Scratch here. Scratch there. Argh! I groaned, then flock my eyes open. I took a glance at my glow-in-the-dark wall clock. It's only three in the morning. It's 3 o'clock in the fuckin 'morning. Damn. Why did I wake up so early? Not in my awake self, I arose from the bed and stomped my feet while wearing my slippers. I knew it. My stomach is looking for a specific drink. A particular drink that I have no idea if it's available in here.
I left the room. I decided to head into the kitchen. Even though I was still drowsy, I still managed to put a brief prayer in my mind that I hope there would be milk in the kitchen. I don't know why I prayed, though, but maybe because I'm hoping hard, that's why. Isn't this school all black-themed? Then there might be an instance where their milk supply in the dorms will be black or gold as well. I winced at the thought. Shit. Black or gold milk looks and sounds so terrible. Yuck.
In the middle of finding-my-milk-mission, I spotted someone searching in the fridge. I'm sure as hell that it wasn't my bitchy roommate's earlier. That girl's hair is black, while the person I see now is white.
I blinked my eyes a couple of times. I even rubbed it. I also slapped my cheeks once just to make sure I'm awake and not just imagining things out of the blue. But, the same scene comes to my eyes again and again. My little eyes widened. Shit! There's a fridge-thief in the dorm!
I bit my lips hard and tried so hard not to make a single noise. I didn't even shout or walk closer to the thief's place. Instead, as the reflex of my naughty self, I picked up the slippers that I was wearing and tried to aim them in the 'asshole refrigerator thief' direction.
*Click*
But, unfortunately, I didn't finally hit the thief with my heavy rubber slippers. Because someone turned on the light, who was it? It was none other than the violet-eyed girl I've met earlier.
"What the fuck are you trying to do, bitch?" She asked rudely.
Feeling slightly embarrassed, I lowered the slippers that I was holding and just snickered in my mind. This woman's behavior is terrible. I really want to beat her up right now, damn.
Unfortunately, even before I could fight and slapped the violet-eyed bitch standing at my side, the mistaken refrigerator thief spoke, so I immediately turned my attention to her.
"Oh, hi! You must be our new roommate, am I right? Omg! My name's Shine. Shine Winslow. Nice to meet you!" The white-haired girl cheerfully talked while holding out her hand in my direction. I looked back and forth at her extended hand and at her porcelain-like complexion and face.
At last, my eyes saw something white here at Blackwood High. I mumbled to my inside thoughts.
The girl in my front is weirdly composed of white color. White hair, white skin, wearing plain white T-shirt and shorts. Her eyebrows and eyelashes are also white! She looks like an angel, damn!
"If I were you, I would accept her invitation of shaking hands. Or if you don't want to, at least talk to her for a second, then smile. Don't just turn your back on her. You may regret it." The violet-eyed girl interrupted once again. Making my thoughts about this girl named Shine Winslow disappeared. She's comfortably sitting on the black sofa, eating an apple in hand. It looks like she's watching closely on what action I'll make to Shine's still outstretched hands.
And because I was naturally evil in deeds, and I had a different plan to do so, I ended up here in the kitchen; obviously, I didn't listen to the purple-eyed bitch. I passed by the poor girl whose name's Shine. I left her hand almost ready to shake hands with me in the midair. I headed straight for my ought direction to the kitchen countertop. I was about to grab the milk powder container that I saw on the top of the black wooden cabinet. But, another set of but, I didn't continue because I felt something hard knock on my skull.
"Aw! What the hell?!"
"Oops. Sorry! I'm not used to being ignored. When someone ignores me, I tend to hurt them physically. That's my disorder. I literally can't stop myself from doing that. I'm really sorry."
I
stared unbelievably at the white lady in my front, then down to the fuckin' thing that hit my head really freakin' hard.
"Are you crazy?" I unconsciously blurted out.
It's a knife. Shine threw me a knife. Yeah, just a knife with a streak of the chocolate icing from the cake she was eating.
Wait...
This shameless white lady threw a knife at me?!
What the fu...
I could faint right here and right now so I could express how shocked my system was at what had happened.
It's a fucking knife! I know it's just a bread knife but, still! If the demon had blown it, it might have pierced right into my head! What the hell, I could've died! Holy mother of gods!
In my peripheral vision, I saw a purple-eyed bitch shrugging her shoulders at me as if saying, "Told 'ya. You really shouldn't have turned your back on her. So stupid. That's what got."
"I'm really sorry, Avy! I didn't intend to do that to you! My hand was at fault! Forgive me, please!" In just a matter of seconds, Shine closed the enormous gap between us by running in my direction just to tugged the hell out of me. She repeatedly apologized as she forcefully tugged my arms many times.
"Hey, I'm sorry 一."
"Yeah! Yeah! Let me go, damn!"
I could no longer restrain myself from cursing out loud. I can almost feel that my arm will be separated from my earthly body because of the excessive force Shine's putting up while tugging my arm. It seems like she's still not satisfied when death almost picked me up the moment she threw me a knife; now, she still wants to dislocate my arms. Yikes. This woman is dangerous. I'm getting legit goosebumps; what the heck.
"Do you need anything, bitch? Are you going to mix and drink milk?" Another question came to my ears from the mouth of the purple-eyed bitch. I'm not sure if she was asking me a typical question or she's just teasing me? Because her voice sounds like teasing and such.
I rolled my eyes, "What do you care if you do? Huh?"
Ignoring the two of them, I tiptoed and reached the wooden edge of the cabinet. Just when my hands are inches away from the milk powder container, it suddenly disappeared.
"I'll do it, Avy. Let me mix your milk. For at least I can make up for what I've horribly done with you earlier." My gaze flew to the white hand that grabbed the container from my reach一 that turned out to be Shine's hands. I released a deep breath in my head. This girl is acting like we've known each other for too long and that we're close enough for her to be this friendly.
"This is it! Here's your milk specially made by me! It's pure white and has no chemical mixture like my personality. Because, If you can notice, I'm the only one who looks different among us. That's because of my condition called Albinism."
And yes, Shine even shared the whereabouts and pieces of information of her so-called 'condition' while handing me the milk she made. I wish I could curse at her and say, "I don't care." But, I guess after doing that, she'll definitely continue to stab me a knife.
Shit. Now, that's terrifying. I don't want to see death yet, so yeah, the ending is; I'm continuously nodding throughout her stories even if my neck is aching like hell. Shine's annoyingly talkative. What the heck.
"Then, about Riri, did you know that she has this certain condition called Alexandria Genesis 一 which makes her eyes radiate the color of purple? I know; it's amazing, right?" I suddenly stopped sipping on my milk; my full attention was stuck on Shine now. Riri? Alexandria Genesis? I darted my gaze on purpled eyed bitch who was, until now, is very relaxed with what she's doing, which is eating an apple. Her foot was even rudely rested on the mini table in front of the sofa.
"Aah... Riri was the name of this bitch, and she has Alexandria Genesis; that's why the color of her eyes is so weird. Earlier, I thought she was wearing eye contacts, but it turns out she wasn't. Now, I know." I didn't realize that I was saying what I was thinking loudly. Riri just raised an eyebrow at me in response. By the way, her name sounds so ugly to me. Haha.
"Wait a minute. You didn't know?" Obviously confused, the white lady turned to me and asked.
And oh, the white lady would be my official nickname for Shine cause hell, she literally looks like one. She's definitely not an angel, and I would preferably call her as a white lady. That would suit her the most.
I shook my head sparingly in response and continued sucking on the milk that I was holding.
"Oh! I get it now!" Out of nowhere, after a moment of silence, the white lady spoke again while flickering her fingers. "She didn't introduce herself to you, didn't she?" She added, and I boringly nodded again.
"I knew it! Just as I thought. I'm sorry. Riri is just like that. She might be that badass girl. But, believe me, she's kind. Sometimes." I winced my lips in between my cup. My eyes traveled on the person sitting on the sofa. That purple-eyed bitch is kind? I asked myself.
From the very moment that I've entered the dorm, she's been rude to me several times. She also horrifyingly warned me about this school then called me dumb afterward because she's saying that I shouldn't be here and I've made a foolish decision on enrolling in here. While back on the doorstep where we first saw each other, she even called me a bitch.
Now, tell me. All of the above mention details, was she really that kind towards me? Really? I don't think so.
The circle of complaint stopped in my mind, and I went back to the real world again when I heard Shine's loud applause. She even accompanied it with small jumps. Discarding, I shook my head. Tsk. What an abnormal white lady.
"Hey, psst! Riri, come here." With Shine's orders, Riri followed even if it seems like it's against her will. She stood on the sofa where she was sitting earlier, and after a few seconds, I just realized that she was in front of me already. She immediately raised her eyebrows then I just rolled my eyes in response. Great. Now, I am trapped between these two weird roommates of mine. How wonderful.
"Introduce yourself to her. Politely."
Riri and I both glared sharply at each other.
"What?!"
"Hell no!"
We were both surprised by the white lady's orders order. Seriously? Shine orders this menstruating like-bitch to introduce herself to me? In a respectful manner? No way. Riri wouldn't do it, right?
White lady playfully nudged her friend's shoulder using her elbow. "Go!"
Riri was left with no choice. She turned and faced me with her weird purple eyes. And, I hate to admit, but her mere stares give chills to my spines, intestines, and feces. Shit, I've never been scared towards a person like this before. I swear Riri's glares and stares appear so creepy to me. What the hell.
"I'm Rise Vanderwoodsen. Nice to meet you too, bitch."
