Chapter 39
The time will come when we must accept the fact that not everything we can change.
_________________________________________
Tyrel, Camen, Jayson, and Haru are still at Tyler's house while Tyrel continues to look for a hospital that will accept Haru. Tyrel looked at Carmen, who suddenly sat down in front of him.
"How is she?"
"Still, nothing will change." Carmen's said in a sad voice.
"Let's just take her to America." They both looked at Jayson when he suddenly spoke.
"The process will become tolerable because a lot of documents need to be sorted out, I need to ask for help so she could get there faster," Tyrel said, and he fix the papers scattered in front of them.
"Take care of Haru if she feels hurt because of her illness. Give her medicine to get rid of the pain she feels immediately. I have to go to hospitals just in case I can get a hospital for Haru that can cure her."
"Be careful, Tyrel." Tyrel nodded to Carmen, and then he went straight to the outside of his house.
An hour later, he was here in a very large hospital where Haru was not accepted. He went straight inside the hospital and walked towards the office of the chief director. He knocked three times before he opened the door and went inside. A man sitting in a swivel chair was shocked and suddenly stood up in his seat.
"You have the courage to go further into this hospital, Mr. Suarez!" The man shouted angrily at Tyrel.
"I didn't come here to yell me, Mr. David. I'm here to talk to you."
"If because of your patient that you're helping her to survive cancer why you here. Just leave because you won't get anything from this hospital."
"Mr. David, are you really like that? Will you always refuse a patient who needs the help of this hospital? Will you just let someone suffer and die of disease? Why you, considered as a good doctor if you are a coward, Mr. David?!"
The doctor quickly approached Tyrel, and he held Tyrel's collar tightly and spoke furiously.
"We don’t want to repeat what happened then, Tyrel! Don't act like you have something to be proud of! Because if it weren't for you, what happened before wouldn't have happened this!"
Tyrel violently removed the doctor's grip on him.
"Until now, you are still blind director David to what happened then. Your favourite doctor Larry the one who is to blame for what happened a year ago! That clever Dr. Larry is why that happened! It doesn't make sense for me to come here, tsk."
Tyrel calmly said, and put a USB on the director's desk and quickly leave the office.
Tyrel was walking to go outside of the hospital, he suddenly stopped walking because he saw the doctors and nurses running towards the wounded and bloody people, and from outside the hospital, a series of ambulances were coming and the riders were bloody patients.
"Why are all the patients brought here?"
"Doc, they said the scene of the accident is near here."
"Tell them, do not accept all the patients."
Tyrel heard what the doctor said. He shook his head and walked away. Even if he wants to help the injured children, he can't do it, especially since he is not a doctor here.
"Doc Larry, Doctor Steven said not to accept other patients because there is no facility."
"Doc, Doc, help my son. Help my son. I begging you."
Tyrel looked at a woman who was begging to Larry and he also looked at her son who was lying on a stretcher that was pure of blood and from his stomach, there was a broken glass of a car.
"They will be transferred to another hospital," Larry said.
"Our children will die if they are transferred to another hospital!"
"Help our children, I beg you doc."
The children and adults crying and their parents shouting at the doctor and that only thing Tyrel heard from them.
"The hospital facility is full, so we will transfer all of you to another hospital." Some doctors said.
Tyrel shook his head again because what the doctor said was not true. He couldn't stand it anymore, so he approached the doctors.
"Don't you feel sorry to them? How many lives will be lost because of you? A doctor's job is to save lives and heal them as best as you can. It's not your job to let them die! You worthless doctors!" Tyrel's shouting to them.
"If you can't do it, I'll do it! If I lose my job or my license, I won't regret it!" Larry, Ralph, and some doctors are shocked by what Tyrel said. Tyrel was about to approach the boy, but Larry suddenly blocked him.
"You can't do this, Tyrel! You are not a doctor here!"
Tyrel ignored what the doctor said, instead he ignored Larry.
"Ralph, ready the operating room," Tyrel said and approached the boy who was struggling to fight the pain he was feeling right now. He pushed the stretcher and brought it to the operating room. He removed the piece of glass from the kid's stomach and sewed it up. After he has done it, he quickly looked at his companions inside the operating room.
"His wounds are fine now. Clean the wounds he has." He said and took off his gloves when he came out of the operating room. Larry suddenly blocked him again.
"Tyrel, stop what you're doing!"
"Get out of my way, Larry. Many patients are dying! If I'm with you, help me save them! If I stop what I am doing, many people will die." Tyrel calmly said and ran to the patients who were crying and asking for help. He glanced at the other nurse, who was just standing there.
"Why are you all still standing there? Assist all of the patients!" The nurses looked at Larry first before they followed what Tyrel said.
"Check her vital signs." Tyrel looks at a couple begging to Larry to save their child.
"Help my daughter, please."
"Mommy, my sister, she will be okay, right?"
"Ralph, can you operate on it by yourself?" Ralph slowly shook his head here. Tyrel looked at the couple again before he spoke to Ralph again.
"Ralph, you don't need to be afraid. Forget what happened in the past. You are doctor Ralph, you are a doctor, and you aim to save the patient's life." Tyrel says, and he pats Ralph's shoulder.
"Go ahead and operate him if you need me, I'm here. I will help you, Ralph." Tyrel said and left it.
Ralph had the courage to operate on the boy.
"I'm begging you, doc."
"M-mom, dad, S-Stiffany I can't do it anymore." The little girl difficult said.
Tyrel immediately grabbed the child’s stretcher and pushed it to the operating room, but Larry blocked his path.
"You can't operate on the patient, Tyrel! We had a lack of room! And the child's condition is now dangerous! Tyrel! Stop what you are doing now! We will transfer them to another hospital!"
"Larry, get out of my way! If you can't save this child, step aside!"
Larry wasn't shaken by what Tyrel said, so he pushed the stretcher again and here Larry stepped aside. He took it to where Ralph was operating. Ralph looked at Tyrel while Tyrel nodded at him, indicating that Ralph could do that.
"Tyrel, are you crazy?! You operate two patients at the same time?!"
"Get him out of here." The people inside in operating room followed what Tyrel told them to get out of Larry.
They started by checking the child’s vital signs before Tyrel started operating on the child.
"D-doc, thanks. I know you will do everything." She weakly said. The girl took Tyrel's hand and placed three bracelets of the same colour on it.
"Give that to my family, doc." Tyrel immediately put it in his pocket that the child had given him, and he began to operate on the child. A few minutes later, he had already removed the broken glass from the car on her neck and her body, which also had the glass piece. Then he exchanged it with Ralph so that he could continue what Ralph did. Tyrel finished what he was doing when suddenly he heard the sound of life monitoring in the other room. He immediately went to Ralph, and here, he saw that Ralph did not know what to do.
"Ralph!" Tyrel calls here. And he quickly checked the little girl, but seconds later, the line suddenly straightened on the monitor. He immediately took the electric shock defibrillation because he hope the child's heartbeat would return. He did it non-stop until he let go of this tool and used his hands, but there was no change in what he was doing until he was tired and he slowly looked at the child.
"Time is dead 11:43 am." Tyrel's weak said. He looked at Ralph, who was daze by what had happened. He approached it and tapped it on the shoulder.
"Will become to the point where we need to prepare ourselves for this situation. She tried to fight, but she couldn't take it anymore. Sometimes we have to accept that not all the patients we can save their life because we are not God to save all lives." Tyrel said this and quietly exited the operating room. He saw the parents of the child who died, outside the operating room. They immediately approached him.
"How is my daughter, doc?" he did not answer the question of the child's mother; instead, he gave them permission to enter inside the operating room. Then Tyrel quietly left in front of the operating room.Download Novelah App
