Chapter 14 - Surprise!
*Pryce Winsley's POV*
---
I was about to get out of bed after I felt something familiar downstairs, and I quickly grabbed the sheets to cover my nakedness when someone suddenly appeared near the bed where my mate and I are on as we are just wearing our birthday suit. And I yelled in surprise, "Cassie, what the shit?"
"Oh, damn! Sorry!" She cursed and hastily turned her back on us, and I heard Blair giggled.
"Hi, Prycie! Now we're even, Blairie!" My best friend cheered as she walked a distance, and my mate just laughed and replied, "Yeah, right! So expect that I would be the one to run into you next."
What the heck are they talking all about?
"No! You shouldn't dare." The witch countered, and I turned my head to look at my girlfriend, who was grinning. Thankfully, she used her telekinetic ability to get our robes on the floor for us to wear them on.
"Only time and coincidence will tell, Couz. By the way, why are you here unnoticed?" Blair replied and asked as she stood up from the bed, finally wearing something, and I followed.
"What unnoticed the heck are you talking about, huh? We freaking agreed that we would go to the mall to shop for the things you needed here, remember? Also, the repair team would arrive here, later on, to fix what is broken here in your house." Cassie answered and went to sit on the couch, and I tried to look around the room to find a clock but failed.
"What? What time is it? You are damn early. It's still lunchtime... I guess. Isn't it, babe?" My mate asked her cousin, and she turned to me to ask for the time. Do I look like I have been carrying a clock with me? She was the one who was so... We both were so fond of just being together, and we overlooked the time passed by so quickly. But honestly, earlier was like so so so damn great in any other way. It was paradise. Damn, I still feel some churns in my stomach, remembering it. And I would love us to do something like that again and again and again, yeah.
"Lunchtime? Well, lunchtime in your time zone here was four hours past. And me? We were done eating dinner. The agreed time is four in the afternoon, and it is five minutes past four. So, yeah, I am just on time. Fine, five minutes late." Cassie explained and showed us something rectangular in her hold. What was it again? Oh, it's an android phone. Yeah, a flat with no keypad phone, which can do many more things than the phone we have before. It is such a fantastic upgrade.
"Oh, is that it? Damn, we haven't eaten anything for lunch, Pumpkin. We missed it." Blair wailed and went to her closet to look for something to wear.
"Really? Haven't eaten anything? Anything, Blairie? Are you sure about that, both of you?" My best friend asked with a grin forming on her knowing face, and I wouldn't want to look at my mate's face and hear her reply. I am feeling her silliness, and I could feel my cheeks heat up.
"Now that's a whole lot different from food, Sander! But fudge, yeah! We did eat something. How could I forget that?" My girl cheered and teleported just to do a high five with her cousin.
Then, laughter erupted in the room from the crazy girls so dear to me, and I just shook my head lightly in a bit of frustration. Children. No, I am the youngest out of the three of us here, yet both act like seven-year-olds. Cassie has lived forty-eight years already, but the teen inside her came out with the presence of her almost three-hundred-year-old and never-growing-up cousin.
"Damn, that was quite a good exercise for the jaw! But wait... Prycie, are you blushing?" Cassie let out and stood up to walk near me as I sat on the edge of the bed.
She kept staring at my face, and her mouth went hanging open as she might have noticed my eye color.
"How is it... Happening? Your eyes. They are not red. Wait, you are human. I can feel it." She asked in wonder, and I nodded my head in response.
"Yeah, I am at times, Cassie. It's interchanging without my control." I confirmed and smiled, and she placed a hand on my forehead to feel my temperature and let out, "Wow, you really are! How amazing is this!"
Then we talked about a few things, and my best friend let us prepare ourselves for the shopping that we will be doing.
---
After Blair and I were ready to go and made a list of the things we needed to purchase using my best friend's money, we headed off to the city to go to the mall. And, of course, we all can teleport. But we made sure to arrive at places where no people could see us, even the cameras that they call CCTV—Closed-circuit Television.
By the time we got back from the mall, the house was already fixed by the witches, who the Queen had sent to do the job.
"So, Prycie... you are going for the council meeting with Alison tomorrow?" Cassie asked me while we were eating dinner, and I noticed Blair turned her gaze on me. Oh, I forgot to tell her because we have no time to talk about other things other than doing something intimate with each other.
"Yeah, I did agree to go with her tomorrow. Also, Blair, umm, I would like you to go with me to Manaus, Brazil. The Amazon rainforest. The Central Domain of the Werewolves. That was what they call it, right? So, umm... Will you?" I confirmed and asked my vegan mate, who has been munching some lettuce, and she answered, "Of course! Wherever you go, I go, Babe, even if it's in another life. I love you that much."
She smiled brightly and leaned into me to peck my lips that slowly turned into more than just a smack, and we heard my best friend cleared her throat loudly, which made us stop. I'm indeed blushing right now.
"Okay, that's enough kissing. Alright, Prycie, Blairie, let me ask you, what are your plans after the meeting tomorrow? And... Would you please not answer me that you will be doing something kinky because you could have it tonight and the rest of your lives at night or anytime, okay? Where would you go after the meeting with the wolves?" Cassie asked after taking a sip of her wine and warned when she saw her cousin's freakish face painting a vast grin.
Then I answered her after thinking about it, "Mmm, nowhere. Why? Do you have plans for us tomorrow?"
"Well... Yeah. Let's just say... it is a surprise." She replied with a small smile and went to finish the wine in her glass.
"Oh, I love surprises! Can you tell us about it, Sander? Where would we go tomorrow? I feel so excited, though!" Blair cheerfully asked her cousin, and I just let out a small sigh. She really is excited to know what the surprise is beforehand.
"By the way, Blair, you want a surprise?" I asked her as she might be surprised to know it, and she nodded her head vigorously and replied, "Yeah, I do. But I also love to surprise people. What is it, Cupcake?"
"The head of the WWC is... My grandmother, who I never saw my whole life and never heard of, since my mother just told me that she was orphaned till age six and never knew who her biological parents were. And my real granny is... Alive and old. But she doesn't look that old." I told my girl, and I know that my best friend is aware of it.
Blair just looked at me with her blinking eyes and mouth open in amazement and replied, "Wow! Cool! How old is she? She is a werewolf, right?"
"A millennium and a century. She was Alcatraz's older half-sister, Oriana. And... Yeah, let's not make it complicated, alright? I was him, but I am a completely brand new person. Yep, that is what I understood so far." I answered and explained when I felt my mate was about to ask me about being the former king.
Then we turned our heads to Cassie when she said, "She can explain it to you clearer, Prycie. And undoubtedly, they will be astonished at how you are alive again this time."
"Okay. I am so excited to meet her tomorrow. Also, Cassie, have you heard anything about Dad? Where does he live now? I want to visit him tonight. I want to see him, but I am not going to let him see me yet. I don't know how he will react to knowing that I am back from death after thirty years, and now I am not just a human but a mix of three different races." I let out and asked her as I just remembered my human father. I missed him so much, and I have a lot to ask him soon if I would be ready to show myself to him. I was just wondering why my mansion has some other people living in it. I don't know them at all.
"Oh, about your father. Uh... It's... Umm, well, I don't know if this is the right time to tell you this, Pryce, but... I know that you need to know." She answered with an aura that changed to something anxious and worried.
"What is it?" I told her to continue, and she took a deep breath before saying, "He passed away eighteen years ago."
Then I felt my heart sunk with the information I just heard from her, while I am having a hard time believing it.
