Chapter 18 - Trip To Transylvania

*Pryce Winsley's POV*
---
The feeling of sadness came rushing over me when Blair and I had arrived in a place where there are lots of houses that kinda looked like each other. It's a housing subdivision, and I wonder why it made my mate feel so gloomy.
I walked nearer to her and rested my right hand on her left shoulder and asked her, "What's the matter, love?"
A small and sad smile formed on her face and she looked at me as she replied, "It's nothing major, but it makes me sad. This was supposed to be a farm- some wide wheat and vegetable farm, and livestock."
This place must have been so important to her.
"That spot right there near that big tree at their park now was where the house and barn of an old couple stood before. Mr. and Mrs. Leroy. It was them who took me in right after I decided to make Marge leave me here in Transylvania as she looks for a new life in America. Three years. I have spent three years with them, and they have treated me as their family member. It was fun. And for the last thirty years, they might have sold this property, and I have no idea what had happened to them then."
She pointed at particular areas of this place while we sat on a bench, and she told me things. "This right here on this spot was the pigpen, and right over there, near that seesaw, was where my lettuce garden is. It's my favorite vegetable to eat and raise. Do you know why? Because I can eat them fresh even if they are still young, whenever I pass through it to feed the animals. I gradually eat one leaf after another has grown. And they don't really grow big... because no leaf would ever survive."
I felt happy when she shared with me the experiences she has had in this particular place, and she offered me her left hand for me to hold.
I opened my eyes and the first thing I saw were dead trees that look a bit spooky and add the presence of the tombstones all around the place. It's like something that no one ever goes to. It's a cemetery. A scary-looking cemetery.
"I love this place because it always looks like Halloween here, all year round. I used to scare silly human kids with their gangs whenever they stroll here for fun and vandals on gravestones. And I was the one who always had fun with their priceless scared asses." She began with a wide smile on her face, and we both laughed at it.
"So, you sound like the keeper of this place?" I asked her when we both composed ourselves, and she started walking a distance, and I followed behind.
"Yeah, something like that. Or you can say that I have been a bad girl here. A very bad one. I just don't want those crazy kids to destroy whatever lies in here. These dead people deserve to be respected even if most of them were forgotten by their loved ones. I was here for the last two centuries of my life... Not until Margarette Kendall heard me crying right here, one rainy night." She answered and explained as we stood in front of a sheltered tomb with the name Claudette engraved on its stone. I looked at her in astonishment, and I know now. This was her grave.
"That woman took me out from there, and I am as sure as fudge that I look so damn ugly and spooky that time, yet she brought me home and raised me like her own. She wasn't scared even a bit and had loved me like a mother to her daughter. She was my savior and my only friend here. Though we had a great fight when she knew I executed some people, she then slowly understood my reasons for killing monsters. Both the vampires and werewolves who wanted to kill humans to ease their needs, thirst, and hunger are the ones I slaughtered. I was never happy about it— to put the laws on my hands, because no one will. And neither does everyone was delighted about it. Both humans and supernatural beings look at me as the bad one. I was just not a very obedient citizen and a fan of rules. Just... I am just... being me." She continued with different types of emotion, and I understand why she's telling me this. That was her dark past in this place and was one of the reasons she left with Marge when she returned here to get her. She is indeed a very bad girl, but I understand that she was bad for a good reason. And for me, she's all good. The best, actually. Whoever she is, whatever she has been through her life, I will always love her unconditionally throughout our lives and our next lives.
I held her left hand with my right one to comfort her, and she looked me in the eyes.
"Well, I won't wonder why you got punished by someone to clean the girls' restroom at the academy. You haven't even completed one week. Not even half of it." I let out, trying to make the atmosphere light, and she cracked out laughing. She must have remembered it.
Well, that was true. She is the most stubborn student that has ever walked into my academy. Not to mention, we were damn seatmates and she will sleep during class hours without giving a shit even if the person who can kick her out of the school is sitting right beside her. She doesn't do homework given by teachers, except for Marge's subject. Cutting classes is one of her favorite things to do just to sleep more peacefully on the rooftop. Another thing is punching the faces of bullies, and just don't give a fuck about them or their parents. And I was just there knowing all the bullshits she's doing that are against the policy of the academy. Incredibly, she did those things within her first month at my school. She was born stubborn as hell, and I couldn't be more thankful for it. I could have been completely dead if she wasn't. She is my Blair, and I am proud of her.
"Oh, the restroom! Fudge it! I know how much you loved that place, Babe. It's one of my favorites. That punishment is just the best. But wait... I just remembered. I don't quite remember that I did say yes when you asked me to be your girlfriend right in that place, sweetheart. Am I right?" She cheered, teased, and let out something that will make me disagree all the way from Earth to Jupiter and back to Earth.
"Oh, well, excuse me, Miss Cavanaugh-Sperova. I beg to differ, my love. We pretty much recalled the things that had happened between us the last thirty years very differently, Blair. I absolutely don't remember that I asked you if you would be my girlfriend." I argued as I crossed my arms on my chest, and she looked at me with her eyebrows meeting each other in turmoil. This issue should be settled right now.
"What? No, you did ask me, Honey-bee." She countered while making an adorable confused thinking face, and I just raised my left eyebrow in response.
"Didn't." I stood my ground, and she scratched the back of her head then shook her head to disagree again.
"No, you did, Pumpkin. I may not be very smart, but I am not forgetful… quite. How did we get together if you didn't, though?" She insisted and was kinda about to surrender, and I giggled at the look on her face.
"I truly didn't ask you, Blair. I told you... To be my girlfriend, and it's not a question. So?" I explained the truth, and she just looked at me with her blinking eyes.
When she hadn't said anything as she shook her head lightly, I began laughing at her reaction that looked like she just lost in the most crucial game of the millennium. Not forgetful, huh?
"Now, you have a face that is... Pryce-less, Blair. Come here, my love." I laughed and snaked my arms around her neck, and she chuckled while pulling my body closer to hers.
"Well, yeah. I do remember now. It's always a yes from me when it comes to you, anyway." She muttered while eyeing my lips and licked hers before biting the lower one, sexily. Oh, yes, we are doing it here. Just a kiss, alright?
And when she's about to lean in to brush her lips on mine, I snapped my head to my right when I suddenly sensed something strange.
Quickly, Blair moved to put me behind her back as we both heard people talk.
No, they are not humans.
