Chapter 23 - Eat Me?
*Blair Claudette Cavanaugh's POV*
---
My mouth hung open in a bit of shock as Pryce licked the blood that dripped down her left wrist when she got a cut on her palm because of the sharp edge of the boulder that was broken down into three chunks. She looked at Ali and me, and I just showed her a wide sweet smile.
"What?" She asked us with her eyebrows meeting each other, and her red eyes turned back to blue.
I shook my head, saying nothing, and the queen of the wolves nodded her head and assured her, "It's okay, Pryce. I kind of knew that it is not its time yet tonight. Don't worry. This coming next full moon is something that I am looking forward to that could awaken the werewolf in you again. It's a blood moon, and I am sure that that would be the time."
My mate went near us, dusting off her hands, and I opened my arms to put her inside.
"Oh, I'm so proud of you, Babe. It's okay. I am sure you could do it next time. You heard Ali; it is going to be a blood moon next month. That time, we gotta be prepared." I cheered her up when she felt a bit gloomy as she had failed to transform into any of her werewolf forms.
She hugged me back and whispered, "Thanks, Blair. I hope so, too."
She turned to the queen when Ali spoke, "So... I guess no Hunt for you yet. You should head home now and take a rest. We will discuss things with your instructors tomorrow. And Blair, advice. Take precautions. If possible, resist... Umm, don't... I mean, skip in... You know..."
I looked at Ali wearing my confused face when she stammered about what she was about to say to me, so I asked to clear it out. "Skip what?"
"While it is still a full moon... There are possibilities that the beast inside Pryce would be in an unstable state, and that means you need to be careful... Umm, if ever... You will... Psh, you know what I mean." She replied and still stuttered, and I looked at my mate to look for her interpretation of what this woman was trying to say.
"Actually, I don't get it, Ali. Do you mean... Pryce could possibly shift tonight?" I answered truthfully and asked her curiously.
"Yes, it could be. That is why... I am advising you both not to... Just... Just take a rest, alright?" She responded, and I kind of get what she means.
A grin slowly crept on my face when my mate nudged me, and I giggled, which then turned into a burst of laughter.
"You mean... Sex?" I let out, quite sure it was what she meant, and I laughed again when she nodded her head in response. Oh, yeah, no.
"Why, though?" I asked her in between my laughter and noticed that my mate seemed skeptical, too.
"Uh... Because, because she might... She might tear you apart." She answered that caused me to choke on my stupid laugh, and I coughed to compose myself.
"What? Why? Would you, Sweetheart? I mean... Well... I don't think so, Ali." I asked them both, and the woman let out a breath.
"She might be shifting without her control and could be lost in herself for a while, and she might be thinking of you as food. Might, alright?" She explained, and I opened my mouth to say something, but my girl uttered, "You mean, Ali, I could eat Blair? No, I won't. I know I could not do it. I should not lose my mind then. That's horrible."
"Oh, no. Why, Babe? I love it when you eat me. And that causes me to lose my mind and---" I protested with my puzzled state, and she cut me off, "Shut the hell up, Blair! Try to listen to Alison."
"I am listening." I retorted and heard the queen giggled.
"No, you are not because, with that look on your face and what you feel, your mind goes somewhere else. For sure." My girlfriend asserted, and I just went to scratch the back of my not-so-itchy head. Why does she know me so well? This mate bond we have is just so strong, or maybe I am just that predictable—definitely, the latter.
"Well, it's better to prevent than be sorry by the end. Alright, Princess?" Alison contended and emphasized to me, and I shrugged my shoulders in response, "I think I can manage. Thanks, by the way. We will try not to not make love."
She let out a laugh and began taking off her robe and bid us goodbye before she transformed into her wolf form, "Alright, good night, girls."
We watched the white wolf run in the direction of where their monthly Hunt will take place, and I put an arm around my mate's shoulders. She held my right hand and intertwined our fingers, then brought it to her lips to kiss the back of it.
"Well, well, well... Let's go home, Baby-blue? I'm hungry. I want to eat something good for dinner. No, before dinner." I asked her, and she giggled as she might have read what was in my naughty mind.
"Try not to not make love, huh? Still, try to obey what the Queen said, Blair." She said and turned to her vampire form, and I just showed her my pouting puppy dog face. Yet, I know she can't be moved by it. She is immune already. Well, this is what I get if I use it too often.
"Fine. Then, let's only eat some food for dinner." I surrendered and thought of wishing to be in my V-mode.
"Good girl. Let's go home." She remarked and disappeared as she teleported home.
I let out a sigh and cursed, "Fudge! She tells me not to make love, yet she's calling me a good girl. She calls me that with her raspy seductive voice whenever we... Nah. Damn her."
I teleported home and saw her walk into the kitchen to find anything we could cook for dinner.
---
"What are you reading now, Pumpkin?" I asked my girl when I found her sitting on the couch in the mini-library of our home. And if I say mini, it's the room next to ours, and it is full of books she borrowed from any library she can find. There are lots and lots of books around here.
"Books about how witches can make spells, Blair. You should read this one. It's pretty interesting, and you could learn something more from here." She answered and suggested as she flipped the page to the next one. We just finished eating dinner, and the sun is about to set.
I sat on the pile of books that she had finished reading for the last few days about the history of the witches, Salem, and lots more of it. This bookworm is not just curious about vampires and werewolves but also about witches. And to think that she has already read all the books from the vampires' palace, and also, the werewolves', I certainly feel that my girlfriend is now a walking library. It started when she discovered that she could read so damn fast in her vampire form, and I never knew it. She can freaking finish reading a whole five hundred pages book in just no more than twenty minutes. Crazy, right? While me? I'm fine. I'm doing just fine.
"No, I don't need to read things about witches. My teachers are doing great in teaching us about those things found in books, especially that Mom is one of them. She is hard, Babe! Stricter than any teacher I knew, even stricter than Marge." I answered, and she lifted her gaze to look at me with a raised left eyebrow.
"Oh, really? Are you listening to your other teachers?" She asked me with her suspecting face, and I quickly answered, "Yeah! I do." Lie.
"The truth?" She examined while looking at me with her scanning red eyes, and I just smiled cheekily.
"No. Not really all. What should I do? They are boring the heck out of me. Also, I already know some of the lessons, and I can perform pretty great when we have some oral recitations and demonstrations." I admitted, which made her giggle, and she knows it because Carson must have been selling me out to my mate since they are classmates in one course. Well, we are classmates in two classes, and that kid is not a kid, I think—she is a smartass, unlike her mother, the witch one.
"Mhmm. Okay. But still, you need to read if your lazy ass would make way for any knowledge. It's important." She replied, averting back her gaze on her book, but I made her look at me again by holding her chin with my right index finger, and she asked, "What's the matter, love?"
"Are you feeling something weird, Babe?" I asked her curiously, and she shook her head in response. I just felt something strange about her.
I went to look at the full moon that was about to rise in the east by the window, and I looked back at her.
"I feel just fine, Blair. Why did you ask?" She answered and looked at where I was looking a while ago, then turned to look at me.
"I just... Woah! Your eyes. They are turning... Purple." I uttered and gasped when I noticed the changes in her, and I could sense a strong aura of a werewolf from her.
