Chapter 26 - My, Oh, My!
*Blair Claudette Cavanaugh's POV*
---
"I flaking knew it! Damn, I knew it! Oh, my gosh! Those lesbians are damn right, too! Leandrea saw them just a few weeks ago and last Sunday at the mall!" Marve proclaimed enthusiastically, which made us drop our mouths in total surprise. Well.
I felt my cousin was as shocked as we both are back in the car with our human friend's reaction to her revelation. Who the fudge would know that they knew? No one, right? Damn!
"Uh... Umm, how-how did... Okay. Alright." Sander began but couldn't construct what she would want to say to the confident principal. I guess there is no need to apply sleep induction then.
"So, it really is true, Cass? I actually didn't believe it at first until Andrea showed me CCTV footage of Blair walking inside the hospital where she's working. There were things she had taken there. And, just last week, the couple showed me another picture of them at the mall that Leanne took. I actually have it here. Here. See them? I really have so many things in my head, wondering why these two would be here. I mean, they passed away, right? We mourned, we visit them every damn year, we cried, and now... That was so damn long ago that... I don't know. This is so... Cool. But then... Oh, I really thought they had some doppelgangers, or... They might have relatives who look like them. But we are pretty sure that it was them. So, how did it happen, Cass? We were actually about to consult you about all these recent happenings, but we were afraid you would think us being crazy, yet we have proof. But yeah, that's it. Where are they now?" The woman babbled in detail and asked my stunned cousin.
I turned my head to my mate and smiled sheepishly.
"Well, Pumpkin, it's a draw. What is going to happen next?" I asked her, unsure if we could continue our betting. She shrugged her shoulders in response and said, "Uh... Obviously, Blair, nothing. We would just--"
She paused when we heard Sander replied to Marve's bewilderment.
"Alright, since... You... Umm, you already know that they are out there and breathing... I... Well, this is the hard part. I could explain how they are alive, but it's going to be hard to believe. And I suggest... You better see them so that they could be the ones to tell you. Mhmm."
"Oh, really? Could I meet them? Yes, of course, I would love to see them again! I missed them so much. I... I have so many questions, and I... I am... Quite ready to hear some unbelievable things. I mean, there are so many peculiar happenings lately in our community. But yeah... Where-Where are they?" Marve replied, feeling so nervous and excited, and I feel like this is the signal for us to walk in.
"Yeah, they are on their way here, Marve. And you better prepare your hankies." My cousin uttered, and I turned to my girl.
"Cupcake, let's go?" I asked her, and she nodded her head and went to open the car door.
We walked inside the establishment with all our glory and as human as possible.
When we got the sight of our pals who were at the secluded part of the restaurant by the garden, we went straight to the gazebo where they were.
"No, this is not real," Marve muttered in awe, standing up when she saw us coming near them, and I looked at her with my puzzled face. I thought she knew that we were alive, and now she does not believe her eyes? Hmm.
Wow, she really has grown older, but still, she's wearing glasses, and her hair is curly. She is the same Marvy I first met at the academy when she bumped into me, and her strawberry juice splashed all over my shirt. Look at her now. She looks so professional. While us? Still the same.
"Hey, Marve! It's been a long time. Hi, Marvy!" We began, and Pryce and I stood near her while wearing big smiles on our faces.
"Oh, my! It really is true. You both are alive. How is this..." She uttered in amazement, and I quickly moved to grab her when she seems slowly collapsing.
"Woah! What happened? What did you do, Sander?" I asked my cousin when the woman fainted, and I made her sit down on the chair.
"Did you do it, Cassie? The... The sleep induction?" Pryce asked, and her best friend answered, "No, I did nothing."
"Hmm. Well, she seems like she saw ghosts. Or maybe zombies? Do we look like any of those? No, I don't think so. I am too cute to be one! Not even my mate. She must be kidding and messing up with us." I let out in wonder as to why she lost consciousness, and the witch doctor quickly checked on the vitals of the woman.
"Now, what should we do?" My girl asked while starting to panic, and I scratched the back of my head.
"Should we bring her to the hospital?" I suggested and noticed my cousin turned her head to look at me with her unimpressed face, and I asked her, "What?" Like, we really should, right? I mean, this is an emergency! What if she is feeling ill?
"You are facing a doctor, Blairie. I can't believe you are still a pea-brained hybrid until now." Sander uttered, and it made me raise my left eyebrow and open my mouth to speak, but I closed it back when I realized it. "Yeah, right."
"I think we should bring her somewhere. There are people looking our way, Cassie." Pryce proposed, looking at the other tables around, and I noticed that, too.
"Oh, yeah. Well, I can bring back her consciousness anytime using a healing spell. And... Here we go." The doctor replied and touched the patient's forehead, which caused Marve to make movements as if she just woke up.
"Hey, are you okay?" Sander asked her, and she tried to look around her and saw us. Mm, I hope she won't faint again.
"Oh, my, yeah. I'm fine. What happened? Oh, them. Yes, they are real. Blair. Pryce. Alive. Wow. It's like... I am dreaming right now. But I am not, right?" She spoke up, trying to force herself to believe what she has been seeing before her.
I could actually make it easier by applying a make-believe spell that could make her think that we didn't die, we grew up like ordinary people, got jobs, got married, and such, but I am afraid it would mess up her mind. I am not so good at performing it, either, and I know Sander won't do it because it takes many risks. Besides, it has become somewhat illegal (if you will get caught) for witches to do it to humans and any other creatures.
"No, you are not dreaming, Marve. You are being haunted by our ghosts, and we are here to make your life-- Ouch!" I couldn't finish my response to the human when my mate nudged my left arm and glared daggers at me.
"Sit down, Blair." My girlfriend sternly commanded as she pulled a chair to take a seat beside Sander, and I did what I was told.
I turned my head to Marve when she giggled.
"It's really you, Blair, Pryce. I am not hallucinating and such. You are here with me. How-what-how is this happening?" She remarked and asked while tears were about to fall from her hazel eyes, and she is going to cry for sure.
I smiled warmly at her, and... it's storytelling time.
---
"Are you kidding me? Damn, that is so cool! I was right the whole time! Those bitches owe me twenty thousand bucks." Marvy let out after we told her that we came back to life because we are not purely humans, that we are part vampires, and the three of us, supernatural beings, just stared at her, dumbfounded as fudge.
"You are not scared? No freaking out moment? No fainting? No violent reactions?" I asked her because my sanity is being measured, and I can't rest in peace later if we go home. Why does this human being's response seem like being a vampire is a normal thing? Like... How?
"What? No. I just... I told you, there is this CCTV footage at the hospital, and Leandrea and I investigated it closely for so long. We have no other explanations when you suddenly appeared and disappeared like thin air, and why the heck would you get lots of blood bags in there. Plus, you have not aged even a bit. And I researched supernatural stuff and found out that there are vampires that could teleport, and I believe they exist. Even the werewolves, witches, there are shapeshifters, fairies, ogres, trolls, and a lot more. Then, here you are... Confirming it. I am going to get filthy rich. Those two think that a shapeshifter borrowed your face, or you were a Gallow Walker. But wait... Don't you want those two to know about you being alive? I could keep this a secret if you want." Marve rambled, feeling so fond of her discovery, and asked us a good question. I am actually glad to know that they are all still friends and are open-minded. I thought she would freak out, fear us, expose us, report to the police, and other awful things, yet it turned out the other way.
"Umm, for now, Marve. Let's keep it between us. We decided to meet up with you and be honest with our true forms because of an important matter, which I know that you could be the one who can help us." Pryce answered, making the conversation a bit more serious and straight to the point, and I nodded my head to agree with my mate. This is why we came here.
"Yeah, sure. You can trust me with this. And whatever it is, I am ready to help you with all I can, girls. What is it?" She replied, and I can feel her sincerity while I am in my vampire form.
Pryce took a deep breath before telling her our biggest concern, "It's about the academy."Download Novelah App
