Chapter 28 - Humans
*Blair Claudette Cavanaugh's POV*
---
"Ha! You missed!" I sneered at my old outrageous cheerleader friend and laughed my ass out when she had not hit me with the bullet. I have superspeed, remember?
I looked back to see what Leanne had hit, and I was greeted with the devil's fierce red eyes.
"Hehe, hi, Sweetheart!" I sheepishly welcomed my mate when she suddenly appeared, looking and feeling a bit mad, and we both looked at our old friend when she spoke.
"Why are you, b*tches, appearing out of nowhere? What are you? No! Who the fuck are you? Are- are you really Blair and Pryce?"
She paused and closed her eyes, and took a very deep breath, then looked at us again.
When someone, no, sometwo also appeared out of nowhere near the redhead, she cursed in thirteen languages.
"Hey, Sander! Hi, Marve!" I greeted the newcomers, and Leanne indeed is like losing her shit now while trying to rub her eyes so hard.
"No! Nah. What the fuck is happening? Huh? Tell me!" She angrily yelled and pointed her .45 caliber handgun back at me, but Pryce quickly moved to stand before me to protect me from any harm.
"Leanne, calm down, please. We are not going to hurt you. Yes, it's me, Pryce, Pryce Winsley. And..." My girl tried to calm the madwoman down and paused, then turned to look at my cousin, "Cassie? Did you do that?"
Leanne began to fall on her knees slowly until she lay down on the floor, unconscious.
"No. I didn't." Sander answered, and I raised my left hand as I rested my other on my mate's shoulder, saying, "I did."
I applied a sleep induction spell on Leanne because I can't let her pull that trigger anytime soon and could hurt anyone, especially my girl.
Then I used telekinesis to make the gun float and placed it in a safe place above the glass table fronting the couches where Andrea is lying down on one. Damn, what is this mess I have caused here?
When Sander and Marve held up the passed-out Leanne from the floor and placed her on one couch, I cleared my throat while trying not to make eye contact with the other vampire here. I can feel her eyes staring flaming sharp blades at me that could send me to hell, and I would never dare look at her at this moment.
"Blair, would you like to share your plan next time with anybody? It is not very safe if you surprise people. It could cause them to lose their minds, or it could cause you to lose your sh*t. And right now, with what you did, I was the one who had lost my sh*t. I was damn worried about you. Please, next time, don't go all alone anywhere far from me." She fretted and caused me to look at her in the face, and I saw how her electric blue eyes show the feelings she felt. Oh, she cared for me, and I certainly feel bad about my deed.
I smiled warmly and slowly walked nearer to her to put her in my arms.
"I'm so sorry, Pryce. It won't happen again. I'm fine, by the way, and thank you. I love you." I whispered in her left ear, and we broke off from the hug.
She chuckled softly and pinched my left cheek, and I pouted my lips and asked her with my awful puppy dog face, "Are you not gonna say it back?"
She let out a laugh, bit her lower lip, and surrendered, "Fine. I love you, too."
We both turned our heads to our pals when they teased, "Kiss! Kiss!"
I glared at them, and Marvy fake-coughed while my immature witch cousin just laughed her ass out.
"Shattap, you two! Why don't you tell us your plans on how we are going to explain to these unconscious gays our revival from death and what we really are, huh?" I let out, somewhat annoyed, and went to sit on the couch nearest to me and place both my feet, crossed, on the glass table.
---
While we were having a short briefing on what we would do if our old friends finally awakened, we all turned our heads to one of them when we heard a voice.
"What happened? Marvy? What are you- Cassandra? What the hell--- oh, f*ck! I certainly am not dreaming that I saw Blair just before I passed out. And... Hi, Pryce! Cool! Everybody's here. What the shit is going on, everybody? Where is my wife? Oh. Nice."
It's Andrea, sitting up on the couch while babbling some stuff, and she can't believe what she sees before her. The typical reaction of people who have met us after we got out from our graves.
"Hi, Drea! Looking alive. Are you feeling okay now? Sorry that I freaked you out. And yes, it's me... Blair, the gayest fairy. It's nice seeing you again." I greeted her with my usual cheeky and happy smile, and she closed her eyes while chuckling and shaking her head lightly.
"This is crazy." She muttered and looked at Marvy when she said, "Yeah, agreed! Very crazy. I fainted, too, Andy. But, hey, you owe me both twenty thousand bucks. Confirmed. They are vampires! I was damn right the whole freaking time! Wake the hell up, Jordan!"
Marvy shook the redhead's legs a bit harder than proper, which caused the woman startled and looked around her, wearing a face in complete turmoil, and curse while panicking, "F*ck! No way! Tell me I'm still alive. There is no freaking way that I see dead people with their eyes open wide and red and someone who lives thousands of miles away from here being here, too. And Marvy? What the hell are you doing here again? Punch me in the face, Rey. Please?"
"Are you sure, Anne? Because if I do so... You would only earn a bruise. You can't wake up. This isn't a dream. Blair and Pryce are here, and they are vampires. And... Cassie? I don't know." Drea told her wife, and the woman just looked at her with her face in skepticism.
"To answer your question, Leanne... I came here to claim my ten thousand bucks from you each. I won, b*tch. These girls are fanged, undead, powerful night creatures." Marvy uttered, and the three adult humans kept on rambling things while we, supernatural beings, just sat there comfortably observing them.
Seriously? These idiots are still the same. I thought when you become an adult and have children; you would act like an actual adult just like everyone else I knew, but I have found out that it's just a thought. This is the actuality here before me.
---
"I can't believe I shot you, Blair. I'm so sorry. You scared the shit out of me earlier." Lee asked forgiveness after they all here have already calmed down and heard our side of the story of why we are here and alive. But fudge, these annoying humans almost choked me to death when they hugged me so tight and wailed like whales. Then Marvy tried to cut my palm to really see if I could heal my wounds and such. They are all so pathetic.
"Nah, it's okay, Lee. It's my fault. But damn, I never thought you had deadly weapons here with you." I answered and heard them laugh.
It feels so good to see them all finally, and they understood us being different from them. Though it's not really ideal for us to reveal our other forms to them, we need them to know. And they all have mentioned that they will help us in the process of buying back the Pryce Winsley Academy. By the way, Leanne is a lawyer now, while Andrea is a doctor, and Marvy is a principal and owns a part of the PWA. They are all excellent in their own ways.
I just wish we can make the Herreras let us repurchase the place. We are willing to pay any price just to have it back.
The day went on, and we talked and talked and talked about lots and lots and lots of things to catch up with all that happened to them and us.
Damn, my mate lied to me. She said we would head out to have just an hour meeting with Marvy, and I could sleep the whole day, yet now, we only have three minutes before sunset. It's tragic but beautifully tragic. I missed them all so much, so it's all worth it.
---
After dinner with our human friends at the Montgomery-Jordan residence, we all went home. It's a good thing that their daughter, Adrianne, was out the whole day up to the night to spend some time with Marve's kids at their home. They all are close friends, and I wouldn't wonder why.
"Hey, Cupcake! What should we do while we wait for the Herreras to be back from their vacate?" I asked my mate while she slipped inside her PJs, and I took off mine to tease her.
While settling my happy butt on our king-sized bed, I grinned, looking at her with a knowing stare, and she just looked back at me with a stern face.
"School. We go to school and study, Blair. Mhmm. Also, you need to read those witches' books I have borrowed from your dimension before I return them next week. There are lots you could learn from there, and it would help you in your witchcraft classes. Don't you like it? You would know your lessons in advance. And you might be rewarded if you finish those courses with the highest honor. What do you think, my love?" She answered and merrily suggested, but I don't know; it sounds like a shitload of work for me.
It sucks to be me. Why is she like this? Don't I deserve to be happy right now? I just want to make love with her! But here she is lecturing me about books and school—the things I dreaded the most.
When she might have noticed me feeling so lost and mentally challenged, she joined me in the bed and began taking off her clothes, too, which made me feel all excited and forget everything else around me.
She is so considerate and fantastic. I'm really going to make her my wife in no time.Download Novelah App
