Chapter 30 - Out Of Control

*Blair Claudette Cavanaugh's POV*
---
"Five... Four... Three... Two... One... Two... Three... Four... Five... Four... Th---"
"Blairie! Stop pacing back and forth! The floor might deteriorate! Sit the hell down, will you? I'm getting dizzy! You wouldn't want me puking here."
I looked at my cousin for a moment and saw she seemed nervous, too, and I went to continue what I was doing. "Three... Two... One---"
"Repeat one more time, and I will freeze the blood in your feet in one place," Sander warned me, looking so sick of my manner, and I just showed her the fireball I released on my left hand.
"Go on. I could just melt it anyway." I replied while trying to challenge her, and she let out a scoff.
We kept on waiting until the sun would finally set and the blood moon to shine while watching my mate in the cage through a screen. We are all waiting for history to happen—the rise of the Ninth Rightful Ruler of the Werewolves.
I just can't help but feel uncomfortable, worried, and everything ugly in me. I know it is mixed with what Pryce could feel right now, making it double, no triple, with what I feel.
My gaze roamed around the room where there were other people here watching the big screen—Oriana, Alison, Sander, and the rest of the council at the different parts of the world at the moment. They are all anticipating that Pryce can finally shift into one of her werewolf forms tonight, the beast one, and I can't help but feel scared. I know there shouldn't be anything to be afraid of since they enclosed her in a cell with rails made out of silver, which means she can't get out of there to hurt anyone or whatever until the moon sets. But for me...? It sounds like torture. But it's just for tonight. I presume she will go back to normal by daylight tomorrow and be able to control herself and her inner beast. Hopefully, everything will go well.
"It's starting."
I heard Ali mutter, and I turned to look at the screen before me and saw how Pryce stared at the huge ball of light out her window.
An unusual, eerie smile crept on her face while she had her eyes focused on the horizon, and I gasped. Sudden and unexplainable pain rushed through my body that made me fall on my knees, and I breathed heavily. It's quite familiar. I felt this sensation before, and it was followed by a more severe tremor when I lost her, even before she completed her shift decades ago. It's fresh in my memory—the anguish, resentment, grief, and misery when I went out of my control and killed many lives—lives of werewolves who wanted her dead. No, I don't want to remember it again.
"Blair! Are you okay?" My cousin worriedly asked me as she knelt, and I looked at her and to the screen.
"No. I'm not okay. And neither does Pryce. I feel pain. Lots of it. It's what she feels right now." I replied without showing any emotions and felt tears stream down my cheeks.
I helplessly sat on the floor, watching my mate screaming in pain while pulling her hair until claws grew out her fingers and tore her skin. She paused for a moment and gasped for air, then slowly, her skin seemed to be breaking and began shredding off, replaced by gray fur as her form changed. She is growing so massive while her clothes rip, and all I can do is watch her in awe.
"She's beautiful," I muttered and gulped, and I felt a hand resting on my left shoulder. It's Sander, and she has been looking at her best friend in amazement, saying, "Indeed."
I let out a sigh of relief when I finally felt fine, and it meant she was, too. I smiled as I watched the huge but adorable creature eating the meat in the buckets, and she seemed pretty much finding it luscious. We might be needing to stock up more meat back at home. Well, we should buy a new and enormous freezer then.
---
"Blair, look!" Ali alerted me when she noticed something bizarre with what Pryce had been doing in her cage after an hour had passed since sunset.
She was trying to touch the bars and winced as she got hold of it, and her feisty gaze locked on the camera.
"What is she trying to do?" My cousin asked, and I think my mate has been plotting something in her mind.
I know she's bored inside there, and I want to go to her to keep her company, but this white lady here won't let me. Well, Pryce did instruct me to stay away from her for the rest of the night, and it felt like forever to me.
Luckily, the ones left in his room are the four of us—Sander and her white-haired wife, Pryce's grandma, and I. The council leaders of the six earth continents are finally certain that my girl is indeed the rightful one. All she needs to do before she can have the throne is to visit every werewolf domain worldwide, and there are about seventy of them, then she will meet up with the alphas of different packs around the world. Tiring? Yes, very, but as long as we go anywhere together, it's more than okay. Well, it took Alison almost a year to finish that stuff, and I presume it would be quicker with Pryce since flight and traveling will be the least of our problems. And since she already learned everything she needed to know in governing, she advanced two years in her werewolf courses in less than two months. She's intelligent and such a freak at learning stuff—a damn nerd and a tireless bookworm. She's the queen of the books, indeed.
"Why is she looking at us like that, Al? Can she see us?" Sander curiously asked her mate, and I answered her instead, "She knows we are watching."
The beast kept starting at the camera and slowly went near it.
"Woah! What happened?" My cousin let out when the screen suddenly went dark, and I bet my mate destroyed the camera. What is she planning to do?
"I'll go to her," I uttered, but the Queen insisted, "No. It's not safe, Blair."
"Why? She is inside a silver walled cage. She won't be able to get out of there unless you unlock it from outside. She seems pretty... Calm. Fudge!" I reasoned out but cursed when I felt something from Pryce.
"What is it?" Sander asked me, and I took a deep breath and closed my eyes to concentrate so that I could feel what happened to my mate in her cell in the building about a hundred meters away from here. Her aura suddenly faded.
"She's gone," I uttered, and all of them looked at me in shock.
"What do you mean she's gone, Princess?" Oriana asked me, and I looked at her and noticed she was trembling.
"Free. Out of the cage." I confirmed, and I, too, am puzzled as to how the heck did she get out.
"I can't feel her aura anywhere near. We must find her quickly." Alison stated, and I can feel my mate is about one mile away and heading north of this forest.
I thought of the location where she was held earlier, and I teleported to the spot to find out what happened.
"Nothing," I mumbled after I saw no changes in the cell except the broken CCTV camera.
"Blair! What happened?"
My cousin, Ali, and Oriana arrived where I was, using Sander's Mirak's Crystal. They looked around, only to find no destruction of anything had occurred.
"How in the world did she escape from here?" Sander let out in wonder, and I think I knew how.
"She teleported," I uttered, and all heads turned to me.
"How? I mean, how can she be in her vampire form if she's in her werewolf state?" Ali asked, and I shook my head in response, "I don't know. But I'll find her."
"Blair, be careful." My cousin reminded me, and I smiled at them before I thought of my mate so I could go to her.
My jaw dropped when I opened my eyes and saw the havoc before me. The trees around me have been cut down while some are uprooted, blood on the ground, and I can't help but feel a little bit fearful. What could have happened to her? Did she do this all? Whose blood is this?
While trying to feel optimistic, I followed the blood trail with superspeed and stopped in my tracks when I felt her close.
"Pryce," I muttered when I finally got the sight of her. She's been eating a bear, and I'm sure it's a grizzly bear or not.
She turned to look at me, and she paused for a moment.
I walked nearer to her, and I saw her purple eyes seem unfamiliar to me.
"Pryce? Babe? Are you there? Do you recognize me, Honey-bee?" I called her out, hoping she knew me, and I was startled when she growled like she didn't want me to come closer.
"Don't you know me, Pumpkin? It's me, Blair. Are you okay? You look so good, by the way. I'll just be here beside you, alright? But if you want some distance, I'll be fine giving you some." I told her and heard how she chewed the creature's limbs in her hold, making its bone crack, and I gulped.
I sat on a log while looking at her from a ten-meter distance, and she seemed not to mind my presence and was focused on eating her prey. I think my girl isn't there yet in control, but I'll be fine waiting for everything to be back to normal. I can accompany her the whole night and even my whole life.
---
A few eternities passed, and I think she already has eaten two bears, a squirrel, and half of an anaconda snake. Mhmm, she ate a damn snake. Heck, I just can't wait to see her reaction if I tell her about all that happened tonight. I better record it. I'm sure it would be epic.
I was sitting on a tree branch, watching my big sweet baby enjoying her food, when she suddenly stopped and faced the newcomer. It's a white wolf wearing gold body armor. Alison.
"What are you doing here?" I asked her, and she shifted into her human form and looked up at me above the tree.
"How was she? Are you okay? Did anything wrong happened?" She asked me back, and I looked at my mate, who felt threatened by the queen's presence.
"Still hungry, I guess. I'm fine, by the way." I answered and levitated down the ground, and even before I could land, the huge gray beast moved swiftly and attacked Ali.
"Holish it! Ali!" I yelled when I clearly saw how she was badly stricken by Pryce's strong right hand-paw-whatever.
Why the fudge would she attack her?
I was about to teleport to Ali to check if she was alright when I saw she shifted into her beast form, and Pryce was about to charge into her again. Thankfully, Ali is wearing some retractable armor that adjusts to her changing size.
Well, let the fight begin.
"Stop! You girls! Stop fighting! Damn it! F*ck! Hey!" I yelled at them in panic when they began exchanging blows and one biting and clawing another, and I didn't have any idea what to do.
This match is clearly just fair since both are huge, but my mate is quite bigger and stronger, yet Ali got more experience and is older. While me? I don't know how to freaking stop them.
"Hey! Stop fighting, you b*tches! Nobody wants fireballs flying at their faces, ain't you? Do you want that? Stop! Fudge it." I kept screaming and cursing, but none of them seemed to hear me.
"Screw this. Alison, stop and go home! You are the one sane enough! Just leave her alone! Please!"
My jaw dropped in shock when I saw how Pryce held the bloody white beast's mouth open with both hands and sharp claws, making Ali whimper in pain while struggling to get out of her hold.
Oh, no, Pryce might kill her anytime soon.
My fudge! I need to interfere.
