Chapter 55 ALLERICK IS NO LONGER WITH US, HE'S GONE.
I was so focused on the beautiful song that I completely forgot about my phone, which was in my room. I realized I didn’t have it with me when I thought of snapping a picture of the guy who was playing the piano. Afterward, I quickly go upstairs, but before I enter the room, I notice the prince has not yet left his room. "There you are," I muttered to myself as I reached for my phone on the bedside table. The screen comes up. "50 missed calls?" After I entered my password, I was so dismayed that the smile that had arisen on my face vanished when I read the message from Mishelley. While I was on my knees, a loud groan could be heard coming from my lips. I didn’t say anything. Mishelley Alvez: You have to come here to the hospital, Gemma. Allerick is no longer with us, he's gone. No one could hear my sobs since I was weeping along with the noise of the music being played downstairs. My tears caused my makeup to smudge, creating a rust-like appearance on my skin. I don’t give a da** anymore. My chest is aching, and I can’t bear the agony anymore. "W- why?" I broke down in tears. "Y-you’re fine, I- I thought you were okay now." There was a big pounding on my door, but I didn’t pay attention until it opened. As Prince Augustus walked into the room, a troubled expression on his face. "Gemma," "It’s over... m- my brother is gone." I covered my face with my hands, which were trembling. "Allerick, he’s no longer with us!" The words 'no longer with us' can be difficult to say. "No!" Prince Augustus took my hand in his and helped me stand on my own two feet. "I’ll take you to him, I promise." The prince walked out of the room and through the rear of the palace. We managed to get away from the royal guards who were stationed at the entrance. He ran inside the car, which we use every time we enter Borstal since one of the guards had seen us. "Seatbelt." Prince Augustus spoke out. I buckled up my seatbelt. He drove the vehicle swiftly in order to avoid the guards chasing us down the road. I didn’t think he would help me, even though I knew it was his way of getting away. We were able to get to the hospital shortly. As soon as I stepped off, I dashed to Allerick’s room. Upon my arrival, I saw the whole family gathered around Allerick, except for Mama, who was beaming at me as I entered the room. In a loud voice, Allerick said, "Ate!" "Gemma, Allerick is doing okay," With a grin on his face, Gabriel said. I burst into tears when I realized he was still alive. "Allerick!" I walked over to him and wrapped a firm grip around him. "I- I thought that..." I yanked Mishelley’s hair. "You frightened the heck out of me. I thought Allerick was going to die. If that really happens I don't know what I am going to do." They came over to me one by one and offered me a big hug as a way of apologizing. "It’s not my intention to deceive you, Gemma. I only wanted you to know that Allerick is well." Mishelley expressed regret. We were all in tears. Our lives are, without a doubt, dramatic, but it is just a natural part of life, and I am content despite the hardship. After a lot of sobbing, I burst out laughing again, till I had to return to the palace once again. "Now that you’re safe, I won’t have to worry about you anymore." I gave a little grin. "Can you just stay here and not go?" Allerick gave me a pleading look once more. I shook my head. "Allerick, this time I’ll make sure Papa gets back to us." "Really?" He uttered it with giddy excitement. I smiled and nodded. "But what's important now is for you to become a fat healthy kid," I kissed him on both cheeks, and he smiled. "I love you, Allerick." Gabriel and Mishelley accompanied me out of the hospital. "You’ve made me nervous for a moment. Next time, I’ll do more than just pull your hair." When I stated that, it was almost too much for me to bear. My mouth was open once again as I let out another groan. The thought of losing Allerick is unbearable to me. "Shh," Gabriel said as he placed his hand on my shoulder and stroked it. "That’s a bad idea, I know, but it’s the only way I can get you to come here and it works." I locked my gaze on Gabriel. "Are you no longer upset?" "I’m not upset at you; when was the last time I was upset with you?" Gabriel cracked a chuckle. "I’m not sure what I was thinking when I acted that way toward you, that night." "I get what you’re saying, Gabriel. You’re worried that even I would respond in the same manner if anything like this occurred to you." I took a breath. "I am held accountable for everything, and I must take action. There is no way I can simply stand there and do nothing, since it is not who I am, Gabriel." "I know, you’re a tough cookie." Gabriel flashed a grin. "You know, I’m delighted that you were able to resolve the disagreement between you two. So, could we perhaps skip the bit where you were supposed to hug each other since I’ve had enough of this drama already?" Mishelley groaned, and her face looked like she was stressed out. "Thanks." I couldn’t help but laugh. "I’ve got an idea. What if you stay? Let us give the money back to King Lucien." Gabriel suggested. "I’m afraid I can’t, Gabriel. Even if you claim Allerick is doing well, my mission isn’t over yet. In any case, I’m not going anywhere without the person I’m supposed to be bringing home." I explained. "That’s Gemma right there!" Mishelley exclaimed with delight as she gave me a thumbs-up. I smirked. "You take my role as a sister again." "As usual." Gabriel flashed a grin. "Do you want to take a taxi?" Mishelley enquired. "No." I shook my head. I pointed to the vehicle, where Prince Augustus was sneaking a glance. "He's with me." Mishelley let out a quiet scream. "You know, I believe the prince is starting to change," she said, bringing her lips close to my ears. "Be careful, Gemma. I can sense that he already likes you." "Mishelley, you’ve gone too far. What type of gibberish is going through your head?" "Stating the facts was not nonsense, Gemma," I jumped into the vehicle as soon as they were out of sight. There was still time to run after the ball; we were near the palace, but he shifted his route, taking us to Borstal instead. "It’s not the route back to the palace," I said after a brief pause. "We still have time to catch up; we need to return." The prince seemed to be deaf to the words. He didn’t stop until we reached Borstal, where we halted for the night. He got out of the vehicle, so I chased him. However, the prince was walking quickly, and he vanished into thin air before my eyes. There was complete darkness throughout the school, and no one was there. I was running in dread that something might appear out of nowhere. I immediately rushed to the football field where he was standing. On the bench, I did nothing except watch as he kicked every ball into the net with his left foot. I can see him hurling his rage at those balls. An hour later, while he was still kicking the ball, I began to feel sleepy. I lay down on the seat and closed my eyes for a few moments to clear my head. I blinked my eyes open after glancing at the time and seeing that it was 4:34 a.m. I simply closed my eyes and didn’t know I’d been asleep for a few hours. I got to my feet and walked up to the Prince on the field. Prince Augustus lay on the fake grass as if he weren’t breathing at all. "P- Prince." As soon as I placed my fingers in his nose, I felt a relief knowing that his alive. "Are you sleeping, Prince Augustus?" He didn’t respond, which made me anxious. When he gripped my arm, I almost recoiled in horror. "Keep your hands off of me!" Then he said the words aloud. "I'm sorry, I assumed that... you," "I certainly hope so." "Don’t say something like that." Prince Augustus took a stand. "Because why not? That's what everyone, including yourself, wants." "Me?" I repeated myself. "Regardless of how many times you tormented me and said painful things, I will never wish for you to die." "Can you put a stop to that?" he said, pointing at me. "Are you trying to show that you care now?" He let out a snort. "Stop feigning!" "I'm not the same as you," I said. He had a nasty grin on his face. "You don't know who I am." "I'm familiar with you, Prince Augustus. Your biological mother abandoned you when you were 11 years old, and Prince Emmanuel passed his responsibility to you. In the end, Raeanna made the decision to stay with her family..." The prince then slapped me in the face with his fist. "You now know a lot about me, so it's brave of you to talk shit about me." I rubbed the spot on my cheek where he had hit me. "To better understand why you act the way you do, he explained everything to me," I explained. "There is nobody who can understand me." Prince Augustus said as he let go of the ball he was holding and booted it into the back of the net.
