Chapter 60 WALDEN

Following Walden's introduction as the prince's personal bodyguard, I found out that he was Mr. Osiris's second son. Well, I'm hoping Walden will be as good as his father.
Borstal students have been more cautious in interacting with the prince since he was introduced to the world. The students became more distant from Prince Augustus than they'd been before, particularly when they discovered that the prince had a personal bodyguard.
Except for me and Prince Augustus, everyone has a partner. Surprisingly, no one has chosen him at this time. I got to my feet and walked toward him. Slowly, I let out a sigh. "I'll be your partner."
Prince Augustus gave me a thoughtful gaze. He didn't say anything. I took a seat next to him and began talking. Because he isn't paying attention right now, I took care of the matter on my own.
"I'm finished," I said. "I'll just send it along to Ms. Ava," I said before returning.
Walden was ready to accompany the prince into his private chamber at lunchtime when I intervened. King Lucien never informed him that only the prince was permitted to enter. And, since he was there to keep an eye on the prince, I had some free time to join the students in the cafeteria. If only the music club hadn't been disbanded, I'm sure I'd be there by now.
Even though I haven't completed placing my order for lunch, I can see someone's hand waving at the side table of the cafeteria. Everybody in the music club is sitting at the same table except Tal. Since I was permitted to return to Borstal, I have avoided them, and now that I have seen them, I lack the guts to approach them due to my immense guilt. I took a few steps closer to them, but I came to a full halt and was ready to turn around when someone grabbed my waist and pulled me back.
"Lincoln?"
"Go ahead and confront them. Nobody blames you for what happened to the music club. They aren't that kind of person."
"However, the actual culprit is me. What if... they come to despise me?"
"No one can despise you, not even them, Gemma,"
Lincoln took my tray from me and dragged me closer to Felipe's table. He placed the dish on the table and pushed me into the chair.
"All I ask is that you enjoy your meal, Gemma."
"At long last, you came to meet with us," Janus said.
"How come you didn't show up when you went back to Borstal?" Elias queried.
"Uh... not that I don't want to show up, it's just that..." I took a big breath and continued. "I am solely responsible for the music club's closure. Because of the prince's resentment, he instructed the president to disband the club. I was completely unaware of this and only discovered it after it was too late, so I'm sorry! Forgive me! I understand if you're enraged or if you no longer want me to be part of the group; what matters is that I told you everything." I sounded like I was rapping at the speed of my words to explain what I meant.
I was certain they would despise me, but instead, they laughed and messed up my hair one by one.
"No one is responsible for what has occurred; what is done is done," Felipe stated with a grin on his face.
There were things I was afraid of, but Lincoln was right when he said they weren't that kind of people. I no longer felt any guilt in my heart, and I was no longer concerned about anything.
"Hmm!" I nodded, and they proceeded to eat, and our conversation started as well. I didn't speak to them after the music club disbanded; it was just nice to feel like I was back with them.
---------
After going to the gym, we changed into our P.E. outfits. Even before the physical activity began, there was a loud bang caused by the entrance of Maxx, Prince Augustus' football team, which caused chaos immediately. Maxx shoved Prince Augustus first, and since the prince, like Maxx, was hot-headed, he responded by shoving Maxx as well, causing Maxx to fall to his knees on the floor. Because there isn't even a single instructor in the area, the two can't be prevented from fighting.
"Prince Augustus Cynfael," he said, a sneer on his face. "This disgusting piece of trash!"
The prince gave her a scornful glance. Walden was able to arbitrate between the two parties, which was fortunate. It's only that Maxx hasn't managed to put his resentment against the prince to rest.
Walden grabbed Maxx's arm and yanked it away from the prince.
"Calm down, Maxx!" I, too, have intervened. "You're harming yourself, and you're well aware that bothering the prince is against the law."
"I couldn't give a rat's rear end about your prince!" Maxx spits in front of the whole class. "Why aren't you turning to face me, Augustus? You're concealing yourself behind your bodyguard and maid."
"How pitiful you are." The Prince expressed this in a mocking tone.
"Let go of me!" Maxx exclaimed aloud as he struggled to get Walden's hand away from his arm.
"You're both on the same side, so what's the point of your fighting?" I added.
"Team? I was sacked from the football team as a result of his actions." Maxx aimed his finger directly toward Prince Augustus.
"Do you honestly believe you deserve to be a part of us?" Prince Augustus stated this in a firm tone.
"I was dismissed for no reason at all," Maxx complained.
"Accept it. Football is not for you, so quit fantasizing about being a professional football player like me." Prince Augustus said, further insulting Maxx, and they both continued to argue.
When Maxx managed to escape from Walden's clutches, he pulled something from his pocket and hurled it at the Prince in a rage. While I was lucky enough to dodge the princes into that thing, this pointy item nonetheless found its way into my arm.
"Gemma!" Walden screamed at the top of his lungs.
Max fled for his life, terrified of what he had done. I turned to look at Prince to make sure he wasn't being struck. "W- were you harmed?" I queried.
"It's you who gets injured," Because of the force of Prince Augustus's tugging, I yelled in agony. "There's blood on you."
"It's nothing," I responded.
"Hey!" Prince Augustus said as he pointed to Walden. "Pick her up and take her to the clinic."
"No, I'm good; there's no need for you to..."
"Just do what I say. You stupid negie! I don't want to be held responsible just because I did not take you to the clinic." As Prince Augustus stated, he seems to be on his way somewhere.
"Can you tell me where you're headed?" I inquired.
"Go ahead and do not wait for me. A situation has arisen that I must deal with."
When the prince stepped back, I noticed him clenching his fist, and then he was gone totally from my sight.
Even after treating and bandaging my wound, Prince Augustus has not returned. Despite the nurse's recommendation that I rest, I stepped quickly out of the room out of worry. The thought of Maxx coming back to the prince made me a little anxious.
Walden spotted me and stopped me from seeking out Prince Augustus. "Why are you being so stubborn when you're not allowed to move? You're starting to be more and more like a prince." Walden did the searching himself.
