Chapter 25
|Yukenzo Ichiro Cabrera|
She heavily walked out the covered court, turned her back at her best friend, at all of us. Leaving the place in silence. I stood still, hands inside my pocket, I watched her fading figure.
I looked at Vencie and Vanez's friend, if I remember, her name is Rocelia. I hope I'm right because I'm not really good at memorizing names and such. I nodded at him, he already knew what I mean. He guided her away from here, comfort her with his flowery lines. I trust my friend. I know Vanez's bestfriend is in good hands.
"Y-yuki, let me explain..."
I blew out a loud sigh as I heard Azel's begging cracked voice. I turned to her, she's biting her lower lips while giving me her apologetic face.
"It shouldn't be me. It should be her. You should save your explanation for her." I intended to sound coldly.
Her face paled."B-but, Yuki---" she was about to hold my arm but I automatically moved it away.
I shook my head in disappointment and decided to leave her there. I don't know where I'm heading, I just followed the direction of my footsteps elsewhere. Azel really disappointed me. I saw the whole scenario, I watched them from afar. She went near Vanez first and I witnessed how she mocked her. Never thought she's able to do that. I've known her as a shy type girl, quiet and prim. I guess I have known her wrong.
I'm not mad at her, I'm just disappointed. I didn't know that side of her, I even think of her as a random person when she did that.
I was being occupied along my walks when I suddenly stopped. My foot brought me to the place where I never imagined I would pick to go to. I found myself standing right at the back of the gymnasium, I can even see the open field in front of me.
What am I doing here by the way?
I'm supposed to turn my back when I heard a toss. It's like someone kicked a piece of stone. I averted my eyes at where it coming from and I stiffened for a moment because my eyes found the most stubborn woman I have ever knew. She's sitting on the bench nearby, with a familiar stick between her fingers. My face palmed. I unconsciously walked towards where she is, I made sure I have the authoritative air that enough to disturb her.
I stopped and cleared my throat. I watched how her forehead creased as she gave me a glimpse. Irritation crossed allover my face when she ignored my presence and continued taking her cigarette. She blew out a smoke, recklessly.
This girl... she's crazy. Definitely.
"Is that the breathe you're talking about?" I didn't effort to hide the irritation on my voice.
She lazily looked at me again."Uh, yes? This is my definition of breathing, Mr. President." I can vividly sense the sarcasm on it.
I should get use to that attitude of her, and think she's not the good type more often. Since there's still a space between her seat, I lift up my other feet and put it on the bench. Her eyes widened but it's just a bit, she brought back her usual sarcastic and cold face, easily. I rested my arm on my knee and stared at her intently.
"W-what are you doing here, really? Did you just follow me? You should leave! A-and don't give me that creepy stares!" Her composure shattered, she panicked.
I disregarded her funny reaction.
"So, you're not just drinking liquor? You're also smoking? Drunker and smoker, huh?" I stated instead.
Her eyes sharpened. If look could only kill, I'm surely dead right now.
"Is it still part of your responsibilities, Mr. President? If not, you shouldn't care. You're not allowed to ask and state your opinion." She rolled her eyes and looked away.
I smirked sarcastically."You're part of my responsibility," without a second, she put back her eyes at me, widening."Every student here is part of my reponsibility. Smoking and drinking are strictly prohibited inside the campus yet you're disobeying the rules... again." I narrowed my eyes when she laughed.
"What's new? I'm born to break the rules." She winked at me playfully.
Damn this girl. Why is she so naughty? I almost massage my nosebridge. Too much stress. What should I expect?
I stared at her again while she continued taking her cigarette. Sometimes I wonder if she's a rebel? Is she? I never encounter those kind of people... rebellions. My perspective about them is quite not good. My parents taught me not to judge people so easily and I grew up believing that everyone has their own luck. But there were still some questions left in my mind as time goes by. Like, why does others still chooses to rebel than be contented with what they have? Why there were still others who didn't stay on the good side and end up with the bad one instead?
It's either their choice or they are just left with no choice.
This girl in front me... did she even think about her future? Did she even choose among a lot of choices? Or it's her own choice to be despicable?
"Smoking isn't a good habit so as drinking liquors. You should avoid that unhealthy habit of yours while it's still early so you won't regret at the end. There were other cases of death usually because of cigarettes and liquors, those are the main sources of lung cancer, kidney failure, throat cancer and many more. It may divert your mood and ease your stress, yes, but are you aware of the disadvantages? Nowadays, cancer is very common, and taking those drugs at your young age? You're risking half of your life, woman." I explained fastly that I ended up catching my own breath.
I don't know why I'm explaining. For her to enlighten? It's up to her. It's her life. Hell, I'm not concern. I'm just... just doing my responsibility as the SSG president.
Yeah, that's just it.
"That's wow!" After my explanations, that's what I got. She looked at me amusingly. She threw the stick and blew some smokes first before she clapped her hands."Is that all? Very well said! According to what book have you read?" Fucking sarcasm.
Can't she atleast take it seriously? When will she get it?
"It's not from any of the books I have read. You don't take it seriously, do you?" Emotionless, I responded quickly.
She gave me an innocent look before she shook her head."Yes, I don't. Should I?" Even her voice sounded so innocent.
Just damn it!
I put down my left toe and brushed my hair frustratingly. She never failed to affect me, I swear. Is she not really afraid of me? I'm so fucking curious how can she act cool towards me, the SSG president of the whole Clinton High... I can't read her.
"Seriously, woman?" All I could say.
"What do you want me to say? Sorry, master..." she toned down her voice, my forehead creased more.
"What are you saying?" I can imagine how puzzled my face was. She just laughed hard, again. I left without a say.
She's a crazy bad girl.
"Concern about my health?" She smirked after her laughters.
My brow arched."Of course, not! I'm just sharing my knowledge about the disadvantages of taking gateway drugs, Arnaez!"
She raised her hands up."Shush! Chill, I'm just asking. You sounded so defensive. Hmm..." I stilled.
Did I? No, she's just trying to annoy me. Why did I even follow her here? She can't talk properly without giving someone a bad impression, a bad mood.
"You're imagining things, then." I hissed and drifted my eyes away from her.
I busied myself looking at the peaceful open field in front of us. I put one of my hand inside the pocket of my pants and let the fresh wind make my hair look unruly. I heard a sigh.
I didn't remove my gaze from the current scenery.
"You saw me smoking. You should report me to the dean's office." She suddenly uttered.
I don't know what to react. I face her, she's looking at me with her serious face. I shifted my weight.
"Do you really want me to report you?" I dared.
"Wanna bet?" She dared back.
I fought her intense stares. She raised her brow at me. I'm the one who gave up. I sighed in defeat while she smirked more.
"I won't report you, Arnaez..." I told her.
"Well, thanks! Should I throw a party?" She said mockingly.
"It's up to you," I replied sarcastically. She's stilling smirking."Just don't get caught. Change your uniform. It stinks." I commented and crinkled my nose.
She tsked."You're so girly," I glared at what she said."I don't have extra uniform..."
"Your problem, not mine."

0believe that love has no boundaries. To support my claim, I will base my argument on Coraghessan's article "The Love of My Life." True love is based on teamwork and that's exactly what the two partners practiced. China and Jeremy did everything together by incorporating both cooperation and coordination in all kinds of activities that linked them together. The intensity of love seemed so high that the two shared or partnered in different activities that benefited both sides of the relationship.
