Chapter 83. A Heavy Heart

Lia was seen lying on her bed alone. Since Aini has returned to her parents' house, Lia has felt immense loneliness. In fact, he hoped to be alone with his best friend. When he was busy preparing his thesis, he could chat with Aini, making the sleepiness inside him disappear. Unfortunately, now he can't feel all of these things anymore. The regret inside him couldn't be accommodated, making frustration suffocate his body.
When he looked at the ceiling of his room, he was reminded of the expression given by Salsa. Actually, he wanted to ask the woman, the reason for doing all this. It's just that he was afraid that the answer he heard from Salsa was not at all what he expected. Because of that, Lia didn't want to put any hope at all and stayed away from questions. Even though it feels like Salsa needs their help. In the end, a long sigh left Lia's lips.
"I have to tell Arjuna about this matter. The dress is… pretty, anyway, but why… does it have to be worn at the wrong time?” muttered Lia to herself before taking out her cell phone. “Hmm? It's really wonderful that he's quick to respond, he's still stuck, isn't he?”
Lia, who then returned to replying to messages from Arjuna, immediately focused on her cell phone. She and Arjuna ended up spending all night replying to messages and finally decided to meet the next day. A smile appeared on Lia's lips when she imagined meeting Arjuna. Strangely, now she is excited to meet this man, she really can't wait for tomorrow to come.
Still with a smile on her lips, Lia finally fell asleep, dreaming that she herself would marry, but with Arjuna. This strange dream made him wake up in a panic. He glanced around the room, making sure that what he had just seen wasn't real at all. When she was sure that it was all just a dream, Lia finally took a deep breath and started getting ready. It didn't take long for him to depart towards their meeting place.
“Morning bump?” said Arjuna when he saw Lia who had come, even when the hour of their appointment was still quite far away. Hearing Arjuna's slightly heavy voice, the woman's face immediately turned red. He averted his eyes and pretended to cough, as if he had not heard what Arjuna had just said. “Have you had breakfast?”
Lia shook her head. “You alone? Already?” Arjuna also replied with a similar action. "Yes, come on, have breakfast with me. There are many good restaurants around here, so I'm sure you won't be able to refuse.”
“Yes, I believe,” said Arjuna, who looked at Lia with a gentle smile. Luckily, Lia didn't notice the stairs so she wouldn't feel embarrassed.
“Here!” cried Lia who kept pulling Arjuna's hand screaming, even though she didn't need to do any of those things, either pulling Arjuna's hand or screaming.
“I hear your voice,” replied Arjuna, who now felt a little unwilling to be noticed by the people around him.
However, Lia didn't seem to care about this and still pulled Arjuna into her. He only let go of her grip when they were already seated. Without waiting for Arjuna to say anything, Lia immediately ordered menus for the two of them, regardless of whether the men agreed or not. Meanwhile, Arjuna himself allowed Lia to choose. He even gave Lia a smile while she was busy herself before realizing why she had come and met this woman.
“So, why do you want to meet today?” Lia, who originally had a smile on her face, suddenly had a sad expression. Obviously, this made Arjuna feel guilty for asking. “S-sorry! I didn't mean to make you sad!”
Lia shook her head while looking down, trying not to let Arjuna see her expression. “No, no. It's not your fault. It's my fault that I can't be a good friend to Aini.”
“Aini? Why? Any more problems? What's with Leo? Dave? Or your friend Salsa?” Again, Lia shook her head, she really didn't know how to explain it. Inside, he was already cursing himself for feeling happy with the clothes he found, not realizing that these clothes meant sadness to his best friend. “Lia, please explain to me what exactly happened.” Arjuna's gaze suddenly turned serious.
“Yesterday… we went….” Lia who continued her words, was not heard at all, her voice only got smaller with her continued words. Arjuna tries to get closer to Lia, listening to what he has to say.
“Yesterday why?” asked Arjuna finally when he could hear nothing. Lia took a deep breath and stared at her tightly clenched fists, trying to gather the courage and strength to say the words that were about to come out. “Lia, please tell me everything. I'm certain, by telling me, all your burdens will be shared.”
Actually, it wasn't Lia who didn't believe in Arjuna. In fact, he really believes in this man considering the relationship he has with Aini. It's just that he couldn't believe in himself. He felt that he himself was a failure, which was why he didn't have the courage to say how bad he was as a friend. With a long sigh, Lia finally looked up and looked into Arjuna's eyes deeply.
“Sorry, I just… feel sad,” Lia said to Arjuna, choosing to be honest with the man. “It's not that I don't believe you and your words. It's just, every time I remember this problem, I will feel that I am not a good friend to Aini at all, if I have disappointed her as a friend.
That honesty succeeded in making Arjuna purse his lips. “Sorry, I don't know about your feelings and actually forced you to tell me, all just because of my selfish desires.”
“It's not like that!” whined Lia who felt panicked. It seemed the two of them had just had a misunderstanding. “I didn't mean that!”
“So?" Arjuna tilted his head, succeeding in making Lia feel depressed. With another sigh, he finally managed to focus.
“Yesterday evening, Aini asked me to go to a shop. At first, I thought it was normal, but it turns out that what she brought was actually a clothing store, special bridal dresses!” exclaimed Lia who then pounded on the table. He stared at Arjuna fiercely, as if Arjuna were Leo. “That only means one thing, Leo will soon set their wedding date! Aini also told me that they … would take pre-wedding photos.”
“Aini… what?!” now it was Arjuna who shouted very loudly. Some people glanced at them out of curiosity. “That… that cannot be allowed. We have to separate Leo before he can marry Aini!”
“Right, right? I'll do anything as long as my best friend doesn't marry somebody like that.” Lia had a determined expression, like saying that Aini's life was in her hands. Arjuna himself nodded his head, feeling the same enthusiasm as Lia.
“In that case, I will come up with a new plan to attack Leo. And I'm confident that we can put the cooperation between Hendramo and Dave to good use."
