Chapter 98. Small Business

Salsa has not known whether what she is doing in her life is the right thing. Even so, he constantly tries to be on the right path. However, this time it was clear that he had made a mistake. He understood the existing problems were caused by him. It is his selfishness and arbitrary actions that make the issue all the more murky. It's clear that this makes Salsa doubt herself. Is he really Aini's best friend?
A sigh escaped, Salsa's lips as she looked at the work she should have finished soon? Why can't he finish any work? He couldn't even focus. Then, what should he do? If he continued like this, then he would only fail his studies as well. Salsa sighed again and ruffled her hair and laid her head on the table.
“Lia… you're fine, right?” muttered Salsa who looked at the crowd of children, made her remember how she and Aini and Lia used to share jokes together. Unable to stand the sight of her, Salsa finally decided to sit up and slap her cheeks. “Focus, Sam, focus. Don't let problems like this get in the way of your work!
With this new motivation, Salsa finally refocused herself on the laptop screen, which was still on. However, before he could do anything, a voice entered his ear. A voice he knew so well. When she raised her head, Salsa could see Lia smiling at someone who wasn't A. This indicated that that person was one of her friends from the class she was attending.
“I'll call you later,” Lia exclaimed, waving her hand. When she was done greeting, Lia turned her body to meet Salsa's eyes, who were watching her. Obviously, this shocked the two of them to the point where they remained silent and could only lower their heads. “Sorry,” Lia muttered suddenly.
When the woman was about to pass by, Salsa held Lia's hand. “Lia, can we talk? There's something I need to tell you.” Hearing those trite words made Lia flinch her hands, she would rather not be touched by someone who didn't even care about her. “Please, I have something important to tell you. It's about Aini.”
“If you just want to talk nonsense, don't ever talk to me. I know more about Aini, you don't know anything about her, so you don't have to act cute.” The tone given by Lia clearly indicated that she was disgusted by what Salsa said. He even took a few steps back because of the chief's gaze.
“I'm sorry,” repeated Salsa, who really didn't know what else to do. He was also trying to hold back his tears. "I'm sorry, Lia. I beg you… forgive me.” Now that Salsa has fallen to her knees in front of Salsa, it's obvious that she has surprised the woman and attracted the attention of the people around her. "I'm sorry, Lia. I… don't mind if I have to leave after this, but I can't stay silent anymore….”
“I'm leaving,” said Lia, who couldn't stand Salsa's words that kept spinning. Actually, it's not that Salsa doesn't want to tell a story. Only, he realized that this problem was bigger than he had predicted. If he kept pushing, I don't know what would happen to him, even though Leo had freed him. No one would be able to read Leo's movements, that's why he hated him.
“Lia, please listen to me, I beg you. I should have told you before… before he came back.” Salsa's voice trembled, even though she didn't mean to do it at all. She did feel scared by Leo's presence, but if her voice trembled, it felt like it was impossible.
Lia herself was silent when she heard Salsa's trembling voice. At first, he did have doubts about Salsa, whether what he was doing right now was of his will or was someone threatening him. His doubts have now been answered. Trembling voice, unfocused gaze, and shaking body too. It was clear that this indicated someone was threatening him to the point of causing fear to settle within him.
That's why Lia was silent without saying anything. The annoyance inside him cannot be avoided, but he will also give Salsa a chance to explain the problem. That way, he will only judge whether his actions are based on the right thing or just his selfishness. Salsa, who was still trembling with fear, didn't realize that Lia had waited until finally the person who was once called a friend cleared her throat.
The voice startled Salsa, so she raised her head, realizing that Lia was waiting for her. It clearly made him panic, how was he supposed to explain that? What words should he say to Lia? What if this attempt only made him even more miserable? Like someone trying to make excuses. Despite all the doubts, Salsa finally swallowed hard and nodded, and mustered up the courage.
“So… I… got in touch with Leo,” said Salsa plainly. He didn't care anymore if the man knew what he was doing. For now, he would only survive. He just wanted to save himself. What Leo wanted last time was completely impossible for him to do. How could he do it?
“Keep going?” Lia looked at Salsa lazily. His eyes narrowed as if to ask what the matter had to do with him. You know that Lia doesn't seem to care, Salsa can only swallow her saliva, afraid that the next words won't be conveyed well at all. “Why shut up? That's all you can say? Even kindergartners can say that if asked. If you want to trick and hurt Aini, you better think deeper.”
“But that's not the only problem!” cried Salsa, who already felt weak and powerless. He held back the tears that were about to fall and looked at Lia pitifully, begging his best friend not to go anywhere.
“If there's anything else, tell me. Don't just stay still. I'm not a psychic who can read your mind,” said Lia, who was starting to get curious about what Salsa wanted to say. Meanwhile, the woman herself fiddled with her fingers, feeling very nervous about starting a conversation they hadn't had in a long time. How was he supposed to start this conversation?
However, no matter how long Lia waited for Salsa to speak, the woman still didn't make a sound. It's clear that this makes Lia's feelings even more mixed. He finally took a deep breath and rubbed his head, trying to sound calmer than he really was feeling. It wouldn't be good for him to take this matter any further when he has to find a way to stop Aini's marriage. It was only when Lia was about to head back that Salsa pulled her sleeve and called out, begging to listen to her.
“Lia, I beg you! Listen to what I have to tell you!”
“I've been waiting for you, but you haven't said anything at all, so what should I be waiting for?”
“Leo… I… I know the plan Leo is going to make to Aini, Lia. Furthermore, I know all."
