Anu was outside combing her long stretched hair when she sighted Bayo the following day, coming from the police station, her heart cut. In a bid to run inside the living, she stumbled and fell flat, because she couldn't see that a pole was on the way. She groaned in pain rubbing her left leg using the right hand.
"The evil that men do follow them. Do you think that you can escape from my hand? Where do you think you are going?" He gritted his teeth and walked inside, leaving her groaning outside.
Anu kept on crying, until her pain subsided, and so managed to stand up, limping as she went inside the house.
She had plans to see Pastor Funke and Pastor Joseph for prayers concerning her registration in the school, but now she doesn't know what to do.
She decided to go inside and see Bayo to talk with him. He was taking his bath, so she had to wait until he was done. On seeing her, he grew furious.
"What are you doing in this house? Go and meet your rich man. I'm sure that he is waiting for you."
"Enough Bayo! You and I know that it's all your fault. You turned me into a punching bag, and you don't want to be cautioned? Hell no! You bring in any lady you like. I play along refusing to fight any of them. Still you are not satisfied. What do you want? Why did you marry me? I'm sorry I will no longer be that weak lady you turned into your punching bag. I'm done doing that. Okay!"
"Yes ma'am. After all your rich man has given you a voice. Bravo!" He replied.
"That's your cup of coffee. Enjoy your imaginations. Make it run wild. That's not my business. I'm here to ask if you want a meal."
"God will smite your fucking mouth. You stand there to ask if….. A real wife knows how to fix a meal knowing I should be famished. Get out of my way please!"
"Fine, suit yourself please."
Thirty minutes later, Caroline entered the house looking very hot and sexy. She eyed Anu and went straight to the kitchen and started to cook.
"What are you doing in my kitchen?" Anu demanded looking fierce.
"Ask Google please!"
"Respect yourself and leave my space." Anu responded.
"You are a shame to womanhood. You arrested your husband and refused to cook his meal. Ha ha, you are worse than the devil himself." Caroline scolded.
"You want a fight? I will give you hard." Anu uttered breathing hard.
" And I will break your head if you disturb my woman." Bayo blurted out.
"And go to jail for a very long time." Anu declared.
"Okay try me and see." Bayo warned.
"Leave my kitchen, or else I will deal with you." Anu yelled.
"Sister Anu, who are you dealing with?"
Anu rushed to the living room and saw Pastor and his wife seated.
She was shocked to her bones to see the two of them. She had wanted to see them. But now they are here in her house. Only she wished they had come at another time, not when she vowed to handle the evil lady.
"Daddy, Mummy, you are welcome to my house. I never knew you were around. I had made up my mind to see you. I'm not myself. So many things going wrong in my home."
"Hmm, we can see for ourselves. Is that why are agressive to your husband? Is this what we have been teaching you? We are disssappointed." Pastor Joseph opened up.
"I'm sorry sir. But if I may ask, what brought you?"
"This is not the time to ask. Why did you arrest your husband, using your man friend? This is adultery, a grievous sin against God!" Pastor Funke declared. You could see pain written in their faces.
"Oh I see, I will take my time to tell you all the evil my husband has been doing. All my body are full of bruises inflicted by my husband."
"Is that enough reason to look for a man friend who will destroy his life?"
"Oh my God, he lied to you sir and ma."
"Okay, let's go to the church, sister Anu"
"Yes ma, I will but before I go, I want that prostitute to leave my house." Anu uttered pointing in the direction of the kitchen.
"Who is a prostitute?" Caroline replied from the kitchen.
"Ignore the useless fool. I'm very hungry please."
"Look at pot calling the kettle black. Oh my God, you that Mr. Badmus has used like a toilet paper. Useless hypocrite. Pastor, she is the ashewo. Hopping from one man to another. A Married woman." Caroline yelled.
"Ha!" Pastor and his wife screamed. They stood up and left the house.
Anu was stupefied, then she knew that Bayo planned to spoil her reputation before them. Will he succeed?
