"Ha, Babajide Badmus?" Bayo and Anu echoed in unison. They were too shocked to see him! Bayo gazed at his wife, Anu wondering if she invited him, and Anu looked at Bayo, shaking her head, totally unaware of his coming to Ile-Ife from Lagos. "Surprised?" Babajide declared with an air of superiority. But Bayo made up his mind not to allow his presence to deter him from pursuing his purpose. He held his wife's hands and went straight on his knees to speak, ignoring the intimidating figure, watching from afar. "My love, my heart desire. I will choose you again and again. Please do forgive me. Will you?" Bayo implored with all soberness. The whole atmosphere became tense, Iyin and Mrs Moji were watching the duo, in the living room, seated, but uncomfortable. They don't know what Anu would say in response to his pleas. Babajide standing, watching to hear her reply. But Anu was troubled. Her breathing became abnormal. It was as if someone put a thousand pounds weight on her chest. Her heart was pumping at a faster rate. She was no longer herself, her eyes began to turn again. The whole living room kept on revolving. Dizziness took over and she fell. Bayo stood up quickly to hold her in his large hands, but Babajide would have none of it. He glided and took Anu from his hands, rushed to his car, and used one of his hands to open the back seat. He moved to the driver's seat and drove her to Adventist Hospital at AP close to Lagere in Ile-Ife. Bayo, Anu's mom and Iyin picked up a vehicle to follow him to the place. Panicked to the bones, Mrs Moji knelt in the hospital, raising her hands in prayers to God. She later brought out her phone to invite Pastor Joseph and his wife, Pastor Funke to come to the place for prayers. While the doctor was attending to Anu, Babajide beckoned to Bayo to come over for a talk. "What do I have to do with you? Please, leave me alone!" Bayo growled. "I thought you will be reasonable enough to listen but you are bent on ignoring me, then I will advise you to leave this place immediately" "You must be kidding, right? This is my wife in every sense of the word. You are an imposter. Leave here now!" Bayo yelled. Babajide snickered and replied calmly, "I realized that you forced your way into her to get a son from her, but she is not yet Married to you. I put it to you that you are the impostor and a thief that should be arrested right here, right now." "No! please! No one will be arrested here. My dear son, Babajide or what is your name. I quite appreciate all your efforts here, but you have to be reasonable. This man, Bayo is the husband of my daughter, incase you did not know." "Maami, that is not true? How much did he pay? My sister did not marry please." Iyin uttered with a furrowed brow. Turning to Bayo he asked brashly, "Abi, how much did you give for dowry?" "At least he brought some drinks and little token to show his interest." "That is mere greetings from him. Did he come with his family? How many of his people know that he is married?" Babajide asked putting one of his hands in his pocket. "Hmm, okay just take things easy with him.As far as I am concerned, he is my daughter's husband." Mrs Moji replied pacing up and down. "Mama, don't worry yourself about Anu's condition. I will take good care of her. Infact she will go to University of Ibadan to study Medicine and Surgery. All the bills on me. This man here cannot do it. Stop punishing your daughter. It's over between them. They are not legally married and can never marry." Babajide declared with final authority. Bayo was infuriated and walked away from the hospital, he has had enough of the arrogant fool. "Do you see him now? Does he look responsible? Is this the person you want to hand over your daughter to? No Mama. You all deserve something better. I will help both Anu and Iyin her brother. They will be sponsored to school." "You don't mean it? OMG! Is this happening to us or am I dreaming?" Mrs Moji stood up with folded arms gazing at Babajide, with her mouth wide open. She was stupefied watching him. Just then the nurse in charge of the ward came with the news that Anu has returned to life. They were excited to the point that Mrs Moji shouted and jumped up for joy. The ecstasy of sponsorship of her children and Anu's health condition brought tears to her eyes. "Oh my Father, thank you for answering the prayers of this poor widow. I'm grateful to God for you Mr. Babajide." Babajide gave a gentle smirk, and turning to Iyin uttered." How about a meal at the restaurant not too far away. Let's go and get what you will munch, this afternoon." He whispered to Iyin. They both left in his car while Anu's mom went to the ward to see Anu with undeniable joy in her heart.
